I have some sleep-related issues that have just been getting worse over the last few years. Maybe you have some ideas (as a man, I have to try everything before going to the doctor, you know).
I'm in my late forties. I rarely have trouble falling asleep, but I wake up much too early. My life is such that I would like to sleep until 8 (or longer in the weekends), but I almost always wake up by 6, sometimes as early as 5, and I'm unable to fall back to sleep. The funny thing is that it barely matters when I go to sleep – I wake up at those times almost regardless. Sure, if I should stay up until 3, which I do maybe once or twice a year, I may not wake up until 8, which is still terrible. I walk around in a sleepy fog all day.
I have to pee like crazy when I wake up, but it's not clear that that's what wakes me.
Here are some things that may be relevant:

• I eat rather healthily, and try to not eat anything a few hours before bedtime.
• I have my last drink of water two hours before bedtime at the latest.
• I drink two cups of coffee per day, but very rarely after noon.
• I will sometimes sleep with earplugs and an eye mask, but it makes no difference.
• I have tried a melatonin supplement, but it makes no difference.
• I have a sedentary office job, but I do go for runs a couple of times a week (typically in early afternoons). No discernible difference in sleep quality those days.
• I sometimes try to trigger the wake-up by alarm clock at around 3:30. I go pee, and at such an early time I'm able to fall back to sleep. This usually allows me to sleep for a bit longer, but I still don't feel very rested – possibly because I have disturbed my sleep in a more important phase of the sleep cycle?
• I take a low dose of Candesartan for my blood pressure, but this should not affect sleep. I use no other medications.
• I try to get sufficient magnesium, and I've tried to take a supplement early in the day, but see no effect on sleep quality.
• I never nap – I've never been able to. I only sleep at night.
• I touch alcohol very rarely. Like 2-3 beers a month.
• My bedroom is cool and dark. I don't use my phone in bed at night, but I do have an e-ink reader (like Kindle) there. It's not backlit.
• I spend most of my day in front of a computer screen. I have reduced its brightness.
• I know I snore a bit, not terribly.
• Weight-wise I could lose a few kilograms; I'm close to the upper limit of a normal BMI.
• When I've gone sleep-deprived for 2-3 days, I typically get one night where I sleep until 7, and it's glorious.

Here are some suggestions I anticipate, and my thoughts:
"Dude, you should just go to bed earlier."
I know, I should. I try to be in bed by 10 at night, which realistically means I'm asleep by 11. Still I'm dead tired when I wake up at 5.
"Dude, you're pushing 50, your sleep patterns change as you get older."
I know, but waking up "naturally" at 5? Who does that? I know not all people my age walk around in a sleepy fog.
So with all this, I thank you all in advance for any suggestions you might have!

Hello everyone and welcome to our second development update! This dev update was originally posted on our Steam page, but we want to also share it with you to talk about The Perfect Pencil mechanics. If you want to read it on Steam you can find the dev update with images here!
Today we want to introduce you to one of the most important features of the game: The Healing Attack.
This is the mechanism that allows you to regain “Will” (health points) on the course of your adventure.
The Healing Attack derived directly from the psychological narrative behind the game, and it is the perfect example of how we are trying to create a cohesive structure that binds narrative and gameplay together as much as possible.
This is done to craft a complete experience through the tools offered by the video game medium. The process behind this special attack can be divided in two steps.
First the players will have to confront the enemies directly by attacking them. This will allow them to gather “Courage” (energy).
This is a clear reference to the core meaning of the game: confronting obstacles to overcome them and proceed on your journey. Once you have gathered enough “Courage” (energy), you’ll be able to transform it into “Will” (health points).
This is done by charging the Healing Attack and - once the charge phase is completed and the attack is still charged - landing the next blow on an enemy.
This is another instance where the narrative of the game shines through: you have the power to transform your Courage, through action, into Will. It is said Will that is necessary to keep you standing in the face of adversities.
A small detail that you might find significant is the fact that you’ll be able to gain “Will” (health points) regardless of whether the enemy might be parrying or not. From a narrative standpoint you are not gaining from their loss, but from the act itself of confronting difficulties.
We believe that this ability will make for a very entertaining gameplay and it will keep players on edge: players will be able to regain health only by exposing themselves to danger when they are at their most vulnerable. When their Will is low, they need Courage to overcome, survive and continue their journey.
A hidden game mechanic: There is further use for this ability. What happens if you haven’t taken any damage, and you try the Healing Attack when your health bar is full? This will unleash a more powerful blow that will deal more damage to your enemies and will allow you to defeat them more easily.

Hi all, I play on the Singapore League of Legends server. Our LoL used to be under Garena but was recently migrated to Riot Games earlier this year. I have been experiencing lag issues very frequently. My champion will sometimes freeze or walk into tower range by itself and I have no control over it. My MS will spike from 6ms to 200++ MS every 10-20 seconds. It will be especially bad in team fights and my champ will just freeze there for like 5 seconds.
I have googled and tried every possible method like

1. Deleting all the files and reinstalling league
2. Clearing DNS cache
3. Clearing %Temp% Files
4. Force stopping all "High" Usage apps
5. Used DNS server 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4
6. Used a wired Ethernet Connection
7. Playing league in Low graphic Settings and no Shadow settings
8. Playing league in Low Spec Mode
9. Playing in DX9 Legacy Mode
10. Playing in Windowed mode.
11. Changing FPS rate to uncapped and unticking "wait for Anti-Aliasing" and "Wait for Vertical Sync"

However the problem isn't fix yet and i'm still lagging. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this lag? Thanks in advance

Hi Reddit mechanics. My oil pressure light turned on yesterday while idling after a long drive. I drove the car at low speeds for about 5 minutes before pulling over and turning the car off. I didn't hear any knocking sounds from the engine.
When the tow truck came after about 4 hours, I turned the car on to position the car for the tow. The oil pressure light was initially off, but turned back on after about a minute. The tow truck driver saw that the check engine light turns off when giving the car light throttle.
The mechanic suggested that the issue is the oil pressure sensor rather than the oil pump.
What does reddit think?

I had been going through my old inventory on Nintendo DS games because I was going to sell some of the ones that I didn’t play anymore and I was checking the progress on all of them and noticed I had barely started playing pokemon Y so I pressed start and sat down on my bed. The loading screen like usual played and I skipped through it to the last point i had been at being right before getting my starter, I picked a fennekin because I have a soft spot for foxes and I planned on doing a magician themed run. The game played out as normal but then when I arrived at Professor Sycamore’s Lab, I had gotten into the battle with Proffesor Sycamore and just decided on Squirtle since I already had my grass poison type Budew, fire type Braixen, and a psychic fairy type ralts, but thats when the game began acting weird, my pokemon weren’t attacking, they weren’t over leveled, just not attacking and a pop up text would say (pokemon name) is scared I made it through the battle barely with all of my pokemon in the red or yellow for hp and then remembered about the ghost girl on the second floor and had went down to that floor although as I went down the elevator my DS got the low battery notification even though it was just at full “what the heck!” I continued playing a bit frustrated but then I noticed the elevator had been taking longer than usual and then the old school poison flashing screen had happened accompanied by all of pokemon fainting except for my budew who luckily was one of the pokemon in yellow health although i was confused because none of my pokemon were poisoned by Professor Sycamore’s pokemon although I just shrugged it off. I made it to the second floor and I see the ghost girl cutscene except something was different, she was leaving a trail of purple and instead of her usual “you are not the one” she said “You are the one, Connifer” Connifer is my real life name so I was confused even more because I put Wynter as my in game name and also she said you ARE the one, not, You are not the one but then a battle began and it said Ghost Girl wants to battle. I sent out my budew being my only pokemon and tried to use leech seed but it said Ghost Girl was unaffected so i tried to use mega drain, Ghost Girl was unaffected, I used watersport in case the Ghost Girl knew any fire type moves and then she attacked with a move i have never seen before, You are not the one which made my screen flicker and when it turned back to being lit up, my character stood where my budew was, i opened up the attack menu and had seen my only move, struggle, so i tried to struggle but it did nothing and my character appeared in worst condition after I took the recoil damage, i used struggle again my character looked even worst but then the ghost girl moved closer, I struggled twice more and my character looked terrible and had been on there knees and looked bruised as if they had been punched and kicked over and over again and the ghost girl moved closer I was forced into using struggle again because the run and the items button weren’t there and by that point my character had been bleeding and I was forced into struggling again and the ghost girl moved closer and my character had been in even worse condition to the point where they had been bleeding all over the body I winced out of fear because of how brutal it looked, and thats when i heard that a move was used i unwinced to see that the Ghost Girl used you are not the one and my player character was nowhere to be seen and then heard a the doorbell ring, i put my ds in sleep mode and then had checked out the door and saw a box labeled, to “connifer”, your corpse, i was scared to even open the box but i managed to anyways and inside was a plant but below that plant was a chopped up human corpse, i almost vomited st the site of it but held it in realizing that the plant was the budew and the chopped up corpse was my player character though had scared me too much and i vomited, i grabbed a knife and ran up to my room where my ds sat on the bed and saw that it left sleep mode but the ghost girl wasn’t there but the battle screen was. I turned around to look to the closet to see if anything or anyone was there but there wasn’t anything i turned back around to my ds and then i looked up and saw the ghost girl standing above the ds and said through a deranged grin “you are the one” and then lept at me, i held up the knife and it stabbed her through the arm but she seemed unfazed so i tried to stab her in the chest but she was still unfazed so i just threw the knife into her and pushed her off me and tried to run but my hallway seemed endless and she soon caught up and grabbed me by the neck and stabbed me through the chest, i winced and then kicked at her I looked to my room and saw that my celebi plushie had began to levitate like in the games and it cried out a high pitched song, Celebi used perish song, the Celebi then fell to the floor as if it fainted and the Ghost Girl yelled in pain as i kicked at its legs as it dropped me to the floor causing it to fall and it began to shoot out thick black smoke, I did it, well Celebi did it, I stood up and walked to the bathroom to apply a bandage and clean the stab wound after i had gotten all taken care of i walked over to my celebi plush and thanked it while giving it a hug but then i heard the doorbell ring, i walked over to the door and saw that it was another package this time it simply said to wynter, i opened it and a pokeball and a max revive were inside along with some parts that looked like a pokemon healing machine that nurse joys have, i walked to my room and the celebi lied there so i used the max revive on it and it came back to life, i put the pokeball in front of it and it entered the pokeball i kissed the pokeball as if someone rolling dice wishing for luck would and sent celebi out of the pokeball and it began flying through the room i will be safe from the ghost girl and i bet she will be back because like she said “you are the one”

A long time ago, I used to read tons of fantasy. The longer the better. High up on the list of reasons I stopped is being burned by both Jordan and Martin (which I loved but hated waiting for decades to finish), but also getting more interested in SF/non-fiction/news over fantasy. I want to give modern fantasy another chance and am looking for recommendations.

Hello :) let me get right to it. (Also I'm 21)
I've been commuting via the same train station for the past 2 years and around a month ago during one of my everyday commutes, this girl comes up to me at the station and sparks a conversation. This happened a couple times now with her, whenever she spots me, she comes to sit with me and has this sparkly bubbly aura around her as if she's happy to talk to me (honestly made me suspicious at first lol).
Every time I see her she tries to get to know me more and so I felt obligated to do the same, today she asked for my number, so we exchanged info and went on our own ways. Seems like she is interested in me, I put in exactly zero effort and yet I have her number now.
Now, I am not the outgoing type, my social skills are lacking, I have social anxiety, low self esteem, I'm not physically attractive, never been in a relationship... The list goes on. In a nutshell, I feel unlovable and don't understand why someone would WANT to spend time with me in any way. I've been blessed with friends that somehow just found their way into my life and they constantly assure me that I have loving people around me, again with zero effort from me. I don't get it, do I deserve it for some reason? or am I lucky? Am I doing something I'm not aware of? Despite all this, I always felt sickeningly unlovable, I don't know why.
I don't know what to do. Some similar scenarios happened to me years ago but I never thought about it seriously. My lack of confidence made me completely dismiss these situations where girls just come to me and make it super obvious that they are interested.
From my perspective, I view myself as a lost cause but it seems other people's perspectives of me are more positive than I thought but I still can't feel more positively about myself, as if it's some kind of mental block.

Is it possible to modify the rear seats on a summit to add ventilation after the fact. I want rear vented seats but refuse to add the other options necessary in the summit reserve to get them.

Hey everyone! So I just graduated from my master’s degree and starting a new job soon.
Over the last two years, I used a Tramotina non-stick set because I didn’t have money on me. Now I really want to get a good set of non stick & non toxic pans. I suffer from a lot of stomach issues which has affected my immunity so I really prefer getting something that’s good for my health in the long term. I’m also considering getting a cast iron pan because my iron is low. Since I cook most of my meals at home, I can be a bit flexible with the budget.
I was thinking of getting Caraway but then I read this sub and it seems like it’s not worth it! I have also seen the Caphalone Elite series — looks great but heavy pans! Any suggestions for what I could possibly get? :)
