I don't wanna sound ungrateful to Jagex, it's honestly a good update but I don't like it.
TBH I'm already missing the confort I had in pvp world pking, the ge was right there with everything I'd need, supplies, gear, selling loot etc.
I would pick my own fights vs someone with similar risk/a fun setup to vs, and when we're done I can quickly tab, pool and get back into it. If they're safing constantly, ragging or being unsportsmanlike, I can easily just fight someone else with no issues.
In BH, not only do I find that most players are way more disrespectful of providing honorable fights, but it's also annoying because you cannot simply skip these players easily until you find an oponent with similar risk/attitude.
That part I guess is due to the comunity playing it, but some other design choices I literally can't understand. Everyone wants to fight close to the doors, yet you're always forced to spawn in the edges of a crater the size of Kourend. It's classic OSRS, making everything huge for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
You're running about all the time, looking for your oponent. I literally don't understand why you wouldnt let us tp away after we're done with the fight, and why tping to targets is locked behing a timer and an expensive unlockable scroll. Everyone pretty much just runs to the doors anyway after spawning, so the "edge spawning" is literally just useless, it's not fun and it doesn't provide anything else besides making the fighting feel clunky, messy and annoying.
I also don't get how the system doesn't try to match you or allow you to "queue" for things such as melee pk, or ranged, or higher risk, dh, or whatnot. It doesn't try to match you with a fun, suitable oponent at all.
Overall I really think we should let go of this horrible "no tabbing, running everyone" attitude and make the crater alot smaller, and making us fight next to the exit zones, or be able to quickly teleport into/out of fights. This system makes the whole process tedious and it doesn't improve against griefing in any way whatsoever. I'm usually drained after a few fights because of how much messier and clunkier it is compared to pvp world pking.

So, it's time to spotlight the best of them! This is Aiming4Gaming, and today we're aiming for resource gaining! TL;DRThis guide originated from my YouTube video, where I show all resource locations in action. If you enjoy watching videos, I would be really grateful if you checked it out and rated it - it would help me a lot!However, it's also fair to offer something to Reddit, which is why I decided to make a text version of my guide here as well. So, if you prefer text guides, it's right below! Important note: Reddit post is limited to 20 pictures, so I can't show every location :( I selected the most important locations as reference, but unfortunately that's my limit here. Also, to not overload map with all places, I highlighted typical locations for cotton and other wide-spreaded resource types. I'll try to group up resources by their purpose. SmeltingFarbane Woods Dunley Farmlands Gloomrot and Cursed Forest Silverlight Hills Copper can be extracted in large quantities from the Copper Mine, along with Hell's Clarion. Don't overlook chests, and remember to consume a worker to boost the resource yield! Sulfur is obtained from the Bandit Sulfur Quarry. By the way, some nodes are surrounded by explosives, which obliterate them with a single precise shot! If you require a substantial amount of copper or sulfur at once, the new Trancendum Mine is exactly what you need! However, exercise caution as the enemies there can be formidable. Whetstones are commonly dropped in Bandit Encampments. The Bandit Armory is also a fantastic place since you can collect not only whetstones but also stone dust, which is essential for crafting whetstones! Whetstones are almost always found in the chests here, and occasionally they drop from barrels or enemies guarding the areas. Iron can be extensively mined in two locations: the Haunted Iron Mine and the new Iron Cave. To access the cave, you will need explosives or the bear form. I recommend using the bear form for an additional reason - these mines are guarded by numerous golems, but they won't attack you if you're in bear form! Unless you provoke them first! Additionally, the bear form enables you to break the massive deposits here, which yield a substantial amount of iron! Golems here also drop iron if, for some reason, you desire more from your run. The Haunted Iron Mine is a much more challenging place for mining, with all the chaos unfolding everywhere! However, unlike the Iron Cave, it contains chests with other valuable items like sulfur, gems, grave dust, and books. Nonetheless, the abundance of enemies and the burning ground make this place less preferable than the Iron Cave. By the way, don't overlook the chests in the tents outside; they usually contain iron ore and other goodies! The ideal location for Quartz in this update is the Quartz Quarry, which boasts numerous nodes and workers that enhance your resource yield. Also, be sure to check the houses for additional loot! Scourgestones, along with some mourning lilies and bones, can be found in Dunley Monastery, the Church of the Damned, as well as the houses in Cursed or Ancient Villages. Dunley Monastery features multiple containers, each typically containing one or more scourgestones. However, this place is protected by holy radiation, which can only be resisted by crafting a holy resistance potion. The Church of the Damned appears to be easier, as you can collect chests and search graves here. As for the Villages, you'll eventually need to visit them for ghost crystals anyway, so you can gather scourgestones as a bonus! Silver can be obtained through two methods. Firstly, there are several nodes in the area to the West of the Silver Mine. Secondly, you can venture into the mine itself by navigating around and accessing it through a secret passage. TailoringFarbane Woods Dunley Farmlands Gloomrot and Cursed Forest Leather and rugged hide can be discovered in the Bandit Trapper Camp, conveniently located near the waygate. This location is filled with cages housing wolves and bears that drop the hides, allowing you to farm them all in one place instead of searching for them in the forests. Don't forget to explore the tents for barrels and chests, which typically contain leather and coarse thread. Thick hide can be obtained from dogs and various creatures in all regions except Farbane Woods. For example, bears, moose and wolfs in the Hallowed Mountains drop them. Fish oil can be acquired in villages, or you can use blood press to convert fish into fish oil and fish bones. Pristine hide is dropped by creatures in the Lurker Dwelling. Alternatively, you can pay a visit to Gracefall Village at night. During this time, you can eliminate the villagers when they transform into werewolves, and they drop a decent amount of hides. Ensure that you carry out this task at night, as they revert to their human form with the first rays of sunlight, resulting in human drops instead. This tactic works both ways, allowing you to weaken several villagers, wait for nightfall, and easily eliminate them in their werewolf form to obtain loot for free. Silkworms can be found in the Spider Cave, where both spiders and cocoons drop them. Cocoons also contain various loot, and sometimes even people and spiders. Fabricating & Advanced SmeltingGloomrot Silverlight Hills To farm mutant grease and tech scrap in the new Gloomrot zone, you can take advantage of the ongoing battles between mutants and humans and collect their drops. These fights occur frequently near the radiated water, providing ample opportunities for gathering resources. However, the most convenient area for farming is undoubtedly the Pools of Rebirth. Here, you'll encounter large groups of both factions engaged in combat, resulting in quick drop collection. Another location worth exploring is Rustlock Village, where each house usually contains 1 to 3 containers filled with tech scrap, mutant grease, coins, and scrolls. Tech scrap and depleted batteries can also be easily acquired in the Trancendum Camps, two of which are conveniently located near the waygates. Simply eliminate the guards and destroy the scrap piles, but exercise caution as some of them may explode. Gold jewelry can be obtained in Brighthaven, either from chests found in human form or from enemies. However, beware that these enemies are the most formidable foes in the game. GrindingFarbane Woods Dunley Farmlands Silverlight Hills Bones, mourning lilies, and the occasional gravedust are abundant in the Forgotten Cemetery or Infested Graveyard. Make sure to thoroughly search graves and containers, as they often hold valuable items. As a bonus, some graves may reveal rats! Regular gems can be mined in the Bedrock Pass, as it boasts numerous veins rich in precious stones. For flawless gems, venture into the veins of the two Harpy Nests located in Silverlight Hills. However, prepare yourself for tough battles, as these areas are infested with angry mobs! Ghost crystals can be obtained by mining nodes in the Cursed or Ancient Village, both of which offer a plentiful supply. Additionally, spectral dust and other valuable drops can be acquired from mobs or found in containers throughout these locations. PlantingFarbane woods Dunley Farmlands Gloomrot and Cursed Forest Silverlight Hills The Gleaming Meadows is undoubtedly the best location to gather fire blossoms, blood roses, and snow flowers. You'll find an abundance of them there! Hell's clarions can be found in Bear Cave, as well as in various mines such as the Copper Mine and Haunted Iron Mine. For cotton, wool, cloth, sunflowers, and the occasional valuable worker with good blood quality, follow a clockwise route through several farms starting from the waygate and ending at Dawnbreak Village. Wardrobes in these farms often hold copper and silver coins, books, fish oil, and much more. When harvesting crops, it's advisable to use area-of-effect attacks to collect multiple plants simultaneously. Some farms have garlic protection, which may debuff your vampire, but you can mitigate this by using bear form, increasing your garlic resistance and allowing for faster recovery. Alternatively, you can craft a garlic resistance brew once you've learned the recipe. Witch huts offer a supply of ghost shrooms. Sacred Grapes can be found in the Brighthaven Vineyards. You can either cut them from the vines or collect them from containers. Plague briers are found in the woods of Gloomrot. However, the most convenient farming spot for plants is your own garden. Simply plant the seeds and easily harvest the plants! Utilize excess plants as a source of pollen, which can then be converted into coarse threads. StudyingYou can obtain paper by farming Bandit Camps, scrolls by looting Militia Encampments and Rustlock Village, and schematics by searching Army Outposts.However, keep in mind that you already acquire sawdust from processing wood. By combining sawdust with plant fiber in a paper press, you can efficiently produce paper, which serves as a great farming method. Once you have paper, it can be further converted into scrolls. And if you have a surplus of scrolls, they can be converted into schematics. Additional TipsYou can construct tombs and vermin nests in order to cultivate certain resources such as silkworms, mutant grease, or scourgestones within your stronghold. However, it's important to note that this method requires the expenditure of other resources, so it's not the same as acquiring them freely in their respective zones.Additionally, you have the option to dispatch your servants on raids, which can yield a substantial amount of resources in the background. Nonetheless, it's important to remember that these operations are time-consuming and limited to one active raid per zone. Resource farming becomes significantly easier when you have a worker with a decent blood type. If you happen to have a worker with less than 100% blood quality, you can improve it by feeding them irradiant gruel. This will boost their blood quality by 1% or 2%. However, it's important to note that there is a 35% probability that your prisoner may undergo a mutation when using this method. So, there is a certain element of risk involved, and you'll need to weigh the potential benefits against the possibility of a mutation. In the endgame, an alternative to blood extraction is using blood merlot. This option consumes fewer health points and induces less misery, making it a worthwhile choice for acquiring blood resources. Its supply and demand: If there is an oversupply of labor - wages will stagnate or even go down. If you can import people willing to do the work for less - either through illegal immigration/large scale legal immigration or H1B visas - there is 0 incentive to pay more to get people from the existing labor pool.
People argue that more people = more consumption. While this is true it just means more low level paid jobs. More consumption is no reason to increase wages. It just inflates the GDP while keeping wages low.

Hello,
I currently have a PGWP thay will expire on Nov 2025, after graduating from a 2 year Civil Engineering Tech Diploma. And have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from my homecountry.
Just completed 1 year of work experience in my NOC (21300) and decided to open my EE profile. I'm sitting in the pool with 457 points but missing 50 points from my foreign work experience (which will make me eligible for one of the draws).
I opened a construction company in 2016 and worked there for 4 years before moving to Canada to study. The thing is, I do not have official paystubs, only monthly deposits/invoices from jobs done and supplies. It's also highly likely the documentation will not support the amount of hours worked.
While I gather all the documents needed to prove my self employment (time worked and that I was paid) : - about 48 bank statement and the translations, -letters from clients and providers, and their translations.
I estimate it will take me about 4-5 months to gathetranslate everything which will leave me with just 1 year of PGWP.
I am debating between applying for a non EE stream in Alberta and hopefully receive a PNP or wait until I can prove my self employed work experience and if possible receive an ITA in an EE draw by the end of the year, (if invited) receive my PR before my current permit expires.
I filled (1 week ago) the form for the Alberta accelerated pathway which is an EE PNP stream but haven't heard anything back and I'm guessing it can also take months before receiving a reply (if any).
Right now my hesitation is: time.
Would it be better to apply for the non EE stream? I've read it could take years for approval (my permit will likely expire before approval) but it will get things going, Or wait 6 months to qualify for an EE draw and pray that my self employment experience gets approved.
Any advice is highly appreciated.
Also any advise to prove self employed foreign work experience would be great.

I recently stopped at my local pool supply store and was bit by the store owners' dog. It was roaming free in the store and started just to at me, once I approached the counter to checkout, it got aggressive and bit my foot.
The amazing part is that the owner took zero concern for the situation and never apologized. She actually laughed and said "he does that to me but rarely my customers, haha!" How can someone be so out of touch to let their aggressive dog be unleashed around customers?

For as far as Bianca Nero could see, red littered the landscape. Nothing but red and orange. An always-autumnal path in the pilgrimage sheâd taken so long ago, when she set off for Beacon. But for better or worse, she didnât feel like the same person she was when sheâd taken this path so long ago.
Leaves crunched beneath her feet, a cool breeze bristling against her cheek as her white cloak gently swayed in the breeze, making her stand out like a white blot on a red canvas. She was alone, but never felt lonely here. Just a little further and sheâd be home again, catching up with her grandparents and telling them how Beacon was going.
It wasnât an easy trip per say. If it was, she wouldâve come back more often. But seldom were the times that she actually could make a trip like this without missing a day of classes, and the shoddy connection on her scroll way out here in the wilderness made it particularly difficult. Itâd taken more than a little struggling just to message Russet to let him know the trip had gone well.
But slowly, the crunch of leaves slowed to a halt. Biancaâs eyes shifted skyward, staring up at the treetops as the wind bit against her canine ears. Something wasnât right. There was a chill in the air, and not the same as the cold wind. It was difficult for her to put her finger on just what was bothering her, in fact. Like feeling a change in the weather in oneâs bones. But this was Biancaâs home, so what could there be to worry about? Sheâd come all this way, and now it was just a half hour walk until she was finally back.
And so the girl continued on to Bracco.
But now, the stone tower lay crumbled and broken, toppled over by damage to one of its now ancient supports. It was old and fragile, but to collapse like this? Bianca knew without a second thought it wasnât an accident or coincidence.
The overgrown stone bricks finally led Bianca to her destination as she reached the tip of a rather bumpy hill, her heart filled with worry rather than nostalgia. On the very edge of her sight lay the familiar red and white tents that littered the market, always enticing the travelers that passed through Bracco on the way to Vale. But it wasnât like she remembered, not in the slightest. Gone were the echoes of carts clattering and the commotion of conversation, replaced with dead silence save for the hissing wind. Like a nightmarish reflection of her most treasured memories.
Her ears perked up as she turned back and forth, but the stalls were empty. No proof theyâd ever been full, save for the tracks of carts against the road. But whatâs more odd was the contents of the stalls. The produce hadnât been set out, but many of the supplies and registers were still locked. Only the essentials were gone. Which meant, if Biancaâs assumption was correct, that theyâd left in a hurry. But it was what awaited her in the square that terrified Bianca the most.
Just past the market and between the somewhat narrow paths, Bianca found herself in what shouldâve been the busiest part of this small town. A simple gathering in the middle of Bracco, with a bar, some local government related buildings, and a fountain situated on the edge of the Ghiaccio River â right across from the farmstead sheâd grown up on.
The roof of the old bar had been caved in by something heavy, the entrance torn open as if by a feral beast. The fountain cracked from something impacting against it, with a dark red stain about its edges. Like the ruins of some battlefield rather than the homely town sheâd been expecting. It was gone. Even if she found where the people had gone, if they had in fact survived, Bracco was in ruins. Her entire purpose in becoming a Huntress, destroyed before sheâd even had a chance to try.
âAnyone!?â Bianca called out as loud as she could. âIs anyone here!?â
Worry caught in Biancaâs throat. âRosso!? Rosa?â Bianca called out again, her voice shaky with concern for her grandparents. â...Anyone? Please...â
But no one replied.
Until something did.
Bianca turned sharp towards one of the collapsed houses as the sound of wood creaking echoed out. White claws emerged from the darkness, old bits of red stained against the tips as black furred legs emerged, bone plating littered across its body, forming a mask with red accents - pristine save for a long crack down the side of itâs mask â and a tiny knife still embedded within itâs eye socket, though it didnât seem to be able to feel it. Biancaâs old knife.
It was a Grimm Bianca knew all too well. An old, local legend nicknamed Belial by the towns that had been victim to it. One of those victims being a much younger Bianca, and itâd cost her an eye. But why here? It was true that Bracco was rural, but theyâd never had Grimm in town before. And this damage couldnât possibly be the work of a single Beowolf, alpha or not. Something had drawn them into town. But there was a more pressing matter than that.
Biancaâs heart ached for her home, but rage made for an excellent painkiller.
The Beowolf growled menacingly, only for the gnashing of teeth to be overpowered by the deafening, echoing burst of aura engulfing Bianca as her semblance practically erupted from her. The ringing howl of her semblance betrayed the pure fury that filled Bianca, her teeth clenched tight and the claws of her gauntlets begging to tear into the creature. For a Grimm that could only see negative emotion, the sight of the young huntress was like looking upon a bonfire of nothing but anger and hate, and only moments later would it all be directed upon the beast.
Bianca leapt forward like a crazed, feral animal, her claws tearing into the Beowolfâs arm as she opened the brawl with a series of feral slashes from her claws. Aggressive and fast, far more so than she even knew she was capable of. More than sheâd ever put to use at Beacon. But those were training, just practice against other huntsmen. This, on the other hand, was a raw desire â or even a need, to kill no matter what it took.
Even as the Beowolfâs claws lashed out at Bianca, blue sparks of aura fluttering off as it impacted against her aura, there was no flow of combat. No ebb and flow of attack and defense, just raw aggression tearing into the opponent, the pain barely registering in Bianaâs mind. But soon she was forced to confront it as the beast rammed its full force against her, slamming against the berserk huntress as she was hurtled backwards, crashing through wood as what was left of the aura shielding her dissipated.
Bianca winced as she stood, quickly recognizing the old inn. Pain was beginning to set in as she looked down, a bit of wooden shrapnel having embedded itself loosely in her side, blood pooling against the black fabric. A surface wound, but a warning of what would come if she kept this up. Her eye shifted to check the dust chamber of her left gauntlet, a vicious smirk breaking her composure. âThanks, Firnen. Worked out perfectly.â
The already precarious roof of the inn shifted and creaked as the Beowolf violently bashed aside one of the bits of lumber blocking the entrance, only to be met with a volley of bolts from Biancaâs crossbow. Only it wasnât to cover her retreat, but the opposite. By the time it had caught a glance of her, sheâd already closed the distance again, the claws suddenly lifting away from the hand just a bit, the circuit connecting as a sharp, crackling sound filled the room, lighting up the darkness of the entryway in an instant as the electrical dust sparked to life. Shock coursed through the Beowolfâs body, numbing it to the sensation of Bianca gripping the knife embedded in its blind eye, tearing it from the socket. No sooner had her childhood knife returned to her grip than she embedded it in the creatureâs neck. But what wouldâve been a fatal blow for another Grimm was far too shallow for Belial.
Just as she was about to press the assault, pain filled Biancaâs mind as she let out a harsh cry, the Grimmâs maw biting down desperately on her arm, cracking through the dust chamber as it sparked, burning against Biancaâs shoulder. Floorboards cracked beneath them, liberating Bianca from its grip only to fill her with the brief terror of falling, as the two opponents fell to the basement below. And while Bianca was able to land on her feet, it may have been for the worse, as a barely audible âcrackâ seemed to send pain up her leg. Burning, agonizing pain from her ankle, but even still she was determined to fight through it. The creature had taken her eye, and now her home. No matter what it took, it wouldnât take more.
Belial looked up to meet its opponent just as a flash of white appeared before it. But what it slashed at wasnât a huntress at all. Rather, Biancaâs thrown cloak in a last ditch effort to distract the creature. And that sheet of white would be the last thing the beast saw.
With a cry of both pain and rage, Bianca threw herself at the Grimm, ready to kill or be killed as she tore her gauntlets into its neck. The moment the claws connected, the damaged dust-chamber sparked to life. Pitch black fur split aside as the Grimmâs head separated from itâs body, propelled by the imminent blast of sparking and combusting dust blowing open the side of Biancaâs gauntlet.
The sounds of battle faded, as did Biancaâs anger. And all that replaced it was emptiness, and pain.
Even once sheâd dragged herself out of the ruins, Bianca could hardly walk. It took an old piece of wood just to balance herself enough to walk on her broken ankle.. No sooner had she been greeted by the empty silence of a dead town than familiar howls rang out in the distance, a shiver running down the Faunusâ spine. She knew one Grimm couldnât have done all of this, but even with all her desire for vengeance, she wouldnât last through another fight. And Bracco needed help more than she did.
Her mind felt light and dazed, practically dragging herself along as she made her way back down the road and into the familiar red forest. Desperately she stared at her scroll. And the moment there was even the smallest bit of a signal, her shaky hand began sending an SOS to Beacon, even as the pain from her combusted gauntlet began to set in along the burned arm.
No sooner had it gone through than Bianca collapsed against a tree, her lone eye watching the red canopy of leaves above. Finally, she had a chance to breathe. Her reason to hunt had been destroyed, and in turn sheâd burned her anger and every last bit of effort she had to destroy one of the creatures responsible. But now the deafening anger was gone, and she could hear again. But the only sound she heard was unbearable loneliness.
By the time Bianca was found by the huntsmen that Beacon sent, she was barely clinging to life. A makeshift bandage made from her sleeve was all that kept her from bleeding out, although even then it wasnât clear if sheâd really survive. But days came and went, and with time, Bianca found her strength returning. But even then, her purpose was still gone.
But a purpose was something Bianca could find with time. It would take more than one loss to break the young wolf.

 | Hey everyone, I was browsing Facebook marketplace this morning and I came across this post for a Macintosh se/30 for $25 or best offer. There was also a mention of a G4 cube available. Iâm a sucker for the G4 cube as well as I do love the se/30. So I figured Iâd message the seller and see if still available. All there was on the listing was a photo of the se/30 with no power. So I have no clue about what the cube looks like or anything extra included. I get a reply from the seller, still available. I ask for a pic of the cube and I get one. Iâm then asked to make an offer. I really didnât need an extra se/30 or a 3rd cube, but if the price was right, why not? I said $50 figuring thatâs what I would spend without the wife being upset since I already have these machines and running outta space. The seller accepted! I figured this couldnât be legit. I did some investigating, the seller has no photos in their Facebook account, had an account since 2010 and I only seen about 4 posts on their timeline. Seems shady, but I know people who have accounts but never use them. Whatever, Iâm gonna go for it. I get there and thereâs some things that could make a paranoid person scared or nervous (like me) lol but it was perfectly fine. The seller was a great friendly guy! Very pleasant. The red/scary flags for me were when I pulled up and saw a bulldozer in the yard with a dirt pile and a hole (thinking âoh great! Thatâs the pool Iâll be buried under) when I met the seller at his door, he had the items in the hallway right next to a room with a blue tarp covering the floor (this was because there were several canvases, paints and some cool paintings done. Once again, itâs my murder TV addicted brain going wild) after the transaction was done he mentioned thereâs also this glass backed iMac in the basement if I wanted to check it out as well while I was here. (Basements are always great. But I figured a glass backed iMac? Maybe itâs the CRT ADC studio display. I love those!) turns out it wasnât a iMac but a apple lcd ADC monitor. I already have a few of these so really didnât need another. I told the seller it wasnât actually a iMac but a display for apple machines with an ADC video card, like the G4 cube. He then said something along the lines of âthatâs right itâs for the cube! The pleas take it, I donât want you to have a incomplete set of it goes to the cube). this is what I ended up with! I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see all the extra goodies like keyboards for both machines, the book for the se/30, the speakers and power supply for the cube, not to mention the box for the se/30! It was a great surprise and a hell of a deal for $50. The seller mentioned he also got a ton of messages about the machines after we had spoken. But I was the first one and we had already agreed. I'm a relatively recent newbie to MTG; looking for some advice/thought around best approach for playing limited with sets that are no longer in standard.
The most fun aspects of MTG for me are playing within a constrained pool of cards and the strategy associated with building a deck as well as looking at the art on the cards during play. I find commander intriguing too, but haven't had a chance to play yet. I'm not interested in staying up-to-date with standard, and I'm not interested in treating mtg as an economic investment. I also don't actually get to play that often, so I'm trying to be somewhat frugal in how I approach getting new cards.
Thoughts
There are some sets that I think look really cool given mechanics and art/theme. For example, I really enjoyed joining a friend's draft with Adventures in Forgotten Realms (AFR) because of the D&D theme. However, now that AFR is no longer standard, I can't buy draft boosters in my local stores. So I can either buy a draft box (more packs than I really want or can find friends to share with) or I could by singles online. With AFR I can actually still buy pre-release packs and draft packs online, but for older sets (e.g., 10 years ago), this becomes less feasible, and draft boxes become more expensive.
So one of the things I'm wondering is if anyone has thoughts on simply buying singles in a set (e.g., the entire collection or close to) vs buying a draft box/packs for use in limited (e.g., drafting)? For example, with some of the sets I'm looking at, I could buy the entire collection for about $200, which is close to the cost of a draft box. With the draft box, I'm going to get a lot of duplicates, whereas with the single route I'm going to have everything unique. On the flip side, I'd have only one copy of each card with the single route, and I'm not sure if this could pose problems with drafting. My other idea is to write a script that samples (without replacement) cards from the set, and then buy them as singles. For example, if I have four players in my draft, sample 15 cards from the set with the draft pack distribution, then buy them, and then host a draft. If I filter out the expensive cards, this ends up appearing to be a pretty cost-effective solution.
I've also heard about the pauper format, but I've never played it. This could be a nice option as well. For one set I realized I could buy over 200 unique cards for about $30 if I simply selected cards <$1. Doing that, I still end up with quite a few uncommons and rares.
