2023.05.28 15:12 No_Shift5131 Hi all, Does somebody have the production numbers of the BMW 1 series, F20 LCI/F20N and in particular the Urban Line edition, 2015-2019?
Hi all,
Does somebody have the production numbers of the BMW 1 series, F20 LCI/F20N and in particular the Urban Line edition, 2015-2019?
I happen to own one and I just came to the conclusion, that world wide, there are less than 200 F20 LCI Urban Line editions for sale. Around 100 petrol and 100 Diesel.
In my case, I can only find 11 for sale with my specs. Which is a 118i petrol with a manual manual transmission (disregarding the other options on it which makes it even rarer).
Thanks in advance!

2023.05.28 14:49 Recyart Map of major Toronto highway crossings for cyclists
MAP:
https://www.google.com/maps/d0/edit?mid=1pfSqOiEF_a3MVLXe7ZLEQKP2ZI84PQI IMAGE:
https://i.imgur.com/EnHCVMy.jpeg This map is still in development, so feedback, additions, and corrections are welcome in this thread. I made an offhand comment in a Facebook thread about how there ought to be a list of better ways to cross the 401, DVP, etc. than doing a trench run through a highway underpass. Since I opened my mouth, apparently that makes me responsible for creating such a list. đ
The list is not yet complete, but I wanted to throw this out there to get some comments before fleshing out the entire thing. My goal is to show all crossings for highways where bikes are not allowed. That would be all 400-series highways and the Gardiner. I've done most of the 401, 404, DVP, and Gardiner so far.
I wasn't sure how best to classify the crossings at first, but I've since settled on a somewhat subjective 3-star safety rating. The safest routes (3 stars) are crossings that have dedicated bike infrastructure, low or slow traffic, no slip lanes, pass over a highway (instead of through a dark tunnel), etc.
A 2-star route might be an underpass with a painted bike lane (or usually no designated lane at all), or perhaps a sidewalk or some alternative to sharing a traffic lane. Use these crossings at your discretion.
A 1-star crossing is one with high-speed traffic and one or more slip lanes or intersections that connect to the highway on- and off-ramps. Slip lanes are particularly dangerous since they are designed for vehicular speed rather than road user safety. Drivers are accustomed to merging with a slip lane without doing a proper mirror and shoulder check because it feels they are already in the correct lane. Proceed with your head on a swivel.
I will eventually be fleshing out each entry with usage notes. You'll know whether there are stairs or elevators or ramps involved, or if a sidewalk is available, and so on. Stairs, etc. don't affect safety so I don't factor that into the star rating, but they are a big accessibility factor. For example, one can cross over into Liberty Village at the Exhibition GO station, but it isn't as easy is simply riding over a bridge.
The nice thing about doing this in MyMaps is that the crossings can be overlaid on top of your normal Google Maps app display. If you're out riding and suddenly realize you need to cross one of these highways, you don't need a special app to see them.
I would like to occasionally update this map with closures and re-openings (and perhaps even new crossings). I haven't figured out the best way to receive crowdsourced updates yet, but it'll probably be done via a comment on some Reddit or Facebook thread, or perhaps a dedicated e-mail address.
For now, have a look at what I've listed so far. If you're a commuter or otherwise frequently have to cross these highways, I would love to see your list of crossings and your comments/rating for each one. And if you know of a 3-star crossing that's missing on the map,
definitely tell me! đŽââïž

2023.05.28 14:46 someRedditUser A week with the Lamy 2000 (EF): very mixed feelings
I recently got my second-ever "high-end" pen, the Lamy 2000 and have been using it non-stop to get a feel for it. My feelings are mixed, an I thought I'd do a review.
Design
After a week, I now love the design. That wasn't immediate -- it's something that takes a while to appreciate. When capped, it doesn't look special at all (I'd even say clunky). Uncapped even, it looks a little unique but nothing that makes you scream 'wow!' like some of the fancier pens I've seen here. But, there's something deeply connected and deliberate about the design... it feels unified. Like it's not a nib, piston, body, cap etc, but it really is a cohesive and deliberate
single object. When you use it for a bit and then switch to almost any other pen (ballpoint or FP) you become aware of all the noticeably separate parts in almost any other design and appreciate the L2K even more.
Writing Experience - feeling the paper (but why?)
Some of this might be different based on the nib size you get (I got extra-fine). Most of the other fountain pens I own (both low and high end) feel like they make a little puddle of ink underneath them. You feel the paper a little bit, but mostly you're gliding on the ink puddle when you're writing. Sometimes the puddle doesn't form fast enough or isn't thick enough and you get too much of the paper on the nib and people call it 'scratchy' because it's jarring and probably unintentional.
This doesn't feel 'scratchy' in the same way. But it feels a lot more friction-full, like you're deliberately dragging more of the nib on the paper than you ought to. So you
feel the paper. You're gliding a bit, but barely compared to even something like the Lamy Safari. It seems to be a very deliberate feeling (alluded to in this great review:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jYS0o3RAFw)
I don't like it though. I enjoy gliding around on a puddle. It's fun and effortless. This is more effortful. Also my basic understanding of friction tells me that the more of a puddle is under the nib, the less of the nib is touching the paper and wearing down. I'm definitely in very close contact with the paper here, all the time. It feels like this nib might not last a lifetime because of this, but maybe I'm drastically overestimating the effects. Lots of people say this is their everyday pen and it works fine. Maybe I'll do a follow-up in 60 years and see how it held up :)
Note also that there's a review from Goulet pens where he says how much of another level it is writing with the broad nib on this pen. I suspect that's because the broad nib would create enough of a puddle that you get that standard "glide" the way a Safari or almost any other pen does. Definitely not there on the Extra-Fine though.
Pressure and control, tiring
Because this pen has so little of a 'puddle', it means there's a smaller range of positions and angles you can hold the pen where it'll actually produce a mark on the page (the so-called 'sweet-spot' some people talk about). You can extend this range quite a bit just by pushing down, so if you're person who pushes on your pens a little bit, this isn't an issue. However, I like to barely touch the page, so this
is an issue for me.
I also like to hold the pen very loosely. "Hold" isn't even the right word. I like to flail with a pen barely connected to my hand. If you refuse to push down, then the only other way to hit the 'sweet spot' is to have some moderate level of control in your grip so the pen is roughly hitting the page in the same spot every time. This also presents an issue for me.
Now, I'm not just a pure anarchist (for the purposes of this sub anyways). My non-contact flailing exists to let me write without tiring. Modifying either of these parameters (pressure or control) means using more finger muscles (the ones you use with a ballpoint pen that tire your hands out and get them to cramp after about 1-2 pages of writing). It's nowhere near as bad as ballpoint writing, but it's still there, and I can feel hints of it in my hand more with this than with my other (mostly cheaper) pens.
When used as intended - beautiful results
Rather than giving up entirely, I decided I'd trust German engineering a bit and lean into it. What happens if I use it 'as intended'? I'd played around with it enough to get an understanding of what 'as intended' might feel like (speed, pressure, control etc).
The results were amazing! It's the best my handwriting has looked with the least amount of effort. I mentioned effort and exertion above and this might sound like a contradiction but it isn't.
Basically, when I do my flailing, it's fast and fun but barely legible. Some people spend years practicing so the right swift swooshing motions produce beautiful, calligraphic text. I don't have that under my belt so the swooshing produces uncontrolled scribbles. However, as mentioned before, I can produce those scribbles indefinitely.
On the other side of this, exerting maximal control with all my hand, I can produce really nice letters (with whatever kind of pen I have) at the cost of tiring my hand out really fast.
What if a pen were made with a trade-off here? Where it required a non-calligrapher to exert a bit of the control they need to produce good lettering (the kind they're used to in everyday life) but still had enough of the energy-saving glide of a fountain pen?
I think this pen hits that balance beautifully, and I think that's why so many people like it so much and use it as their 'workhorse'.
Weight
A quick note, even when using it as 'intended' I felt like it was a little too light. Like it would be even less effort if the pen was a bit more top-heavy and dragging itself on the paper via gravity. I saw that there's a more expensive all-metal version of this pen, so I think that actually addresses this concern.
'Line too thick' critique
I've seen a lot of reviews that talk about how the line width is 'wrong' with the pen and EF is much thicker than what you'd expect. This is actually why I bought EF when I really wanted an F size. This was the wrong move. It definitely created a line that was thin.
I will note that I saw more variance from paper to paper than I've seen with my other pens. When I used Leuchturm 1917 paper, the line was actually pretty thick. On Kokuyo paper, it was very thin. On generic 70g notebook paper, it was also pretty thin. A majority of my tests had it come out thin, so I'm saying it's thin.
Also, note that even when it came out thicker, it didn't significantly take away from the 'draggy' feeling I got. It also wasn't like 'M' thick or anything, just maybe closer to F.
Final thoughts
Like I said, it's mixed for me. I don't want to drag the nib on the paper (really feels like it's bad in the long-run!), and I enjoy the careless wooshing of an ink puddle. So, this pen isn't a delight for me to use in the same way some of these more 'runny' pens are.
But, if I'm going to write something
someone else has to read and make it look as nice as my personal skillset allows, and I want to do it for a sustained amount of time? This would be my go-to. If you made it here, thanks for reading!
Notes: I used several papers of different weight and Pelikan and Lamy inks. These all created their own experiences, but results above were generalized based on all of the above. submitted by

Sylvanâs dad gestured for us to get the show set up while he walked into the kitchen. I couldnât bring myself to sit still as the sound of popcorn in the microwave bounced through the house. Sylvan threw himself next to me as the annoyingly long series of logos started to parade through the screen.
âCâmon Dad! Itâs starting!â We both held our arms up and caught a bag of popcorn as Mr. Smith copied Sylvan and threw himself on the couch. As Sylvan started to juggle the burning hot bag I started to mockingly mimic him. âOh shut up! You and your built-in oven mitts!â
I batted Sylvan in the face who didnât hesitate to try and hold off my attacks by smooshing me down into the chair. We both stopped when the Deep heavy beat of the Exterminators RELOADED started to play. This time though the beat didnât stop as the opening sequence ended. Instead it played dully in the background like we were hearing it through a wall.
Friotetzali stepped into the scene and sauntered his way through an alley. He stopped and looked at a poster hanging on the wall. It showed a picture of a carrot and tomato with forward facing eyes and silly little stick arms cowering in fear of a ravenous looking Venlil. Plastered above it was the episode's title! âTHE HERBIVOROUS BEASTS FROM BEYOND THE STARS!!!â
Frio let out a light chuckle as his tail curled in delight. âOh that looks hilarious. Gotta remember to go see that.â He gently shook his head as he continued to walk and drop into an indifferent attitude as he approached a lone Mazic by a door. The two stared at each other for a moment before the Mazic slowly turned and opened the door.
With a slow and droning voice he addressed our head investigator. âHeâs waiting for you by the dance floor. Doubt youâll miss him. Welcome back Frio. Try not to burn the place down.â As the door opened the tune picked back up and was almost deafening. Frio walked down the dark staircase and eventually into a room filled with neon signs decorating the walls, strobe lights, lasers, and dozens of people dancing everywhere.
Our Harchen Hero cut through the crowd and haze like a fish through water before finally sitting down at a table with a rather⊠sleazy looking Gojid. âFRIO! MY OLD PAL! Have a seat! Let me get ya a drink!â The greased back fur of the Gojid just looked out of place as he waved for the servers to bring colorful beverages with little umbrellas over.
I honestly couldnât make out any words that came out of the Gojidâs mouth after that. The dude just seemed to talk and not say any words. But eventually Frio took a slow sip from his drink and turned his head to stare down the greasy porcupine whoâs quills extended in a little bit of fear.
âCut the crap Genseng. I want to know why by Inatalaâs tits youâd think it's a good idea to smuggle terran animals here!â He slammed a pawfull of photos on the table. Each one showed the greasy Gojid buying and selling small animals like rabbits and chickens.
Genseng sputtered and pouted âCOME ON! I havenât done anything that puts anyone at risk! I just sell humanâs xeno-safe pets! A bunny never ate a Dossur! Donât you want humans to take care of the petting addiction on things that want to be pet?â Despite my body telling me this guy was bad news, I couldnât help but agree. Iâve been âpetâ more times than I would like by strange humans⊠and a few Venlil⊠and one Kolshian⊠and I ran away from the Mazic.
Frio sat back in his chair and huffed. âThen WHY have I found NO civilians with one of your pets?â This time he slapped down a paper list of names and places that clearly documented each and every business he sold animals to.
The scumbag sat there with a look of shock on his face and started to sputter out several noncommittal and contradictory statements. ALl the while Frio stared at his âfriendâ with more and more disgust. Eventually Genseng just sighed, stood up, and shouted. "GUN! HES GOT A GUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!â and bolted for the back door as screaming began to fill the room
Frio just casually stood up and watched that douchebag flee! He pulled out his badge and announced to the crowd. âFALSE ALARM! FALSE ALARM! OFFICER FRIOTETZALI, HERE ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS OF THE AVALON CITY POLICE! REMAIN CALM YOU ARE IN NO DANGER!â
I couldnât understand why he was just standing there as the bad guy ran away! The camera cut to Genseng who was sprinting full force down a narrow hall dodging all manner of obstacles like it was an action movie only for it to cut back to Frio slowly taking a sip of his drink!
Again it cut back Genseng huffing and wheezing as he sprinted through his own shipping operation. The only pauses he took were to open up cages causing a small whirlwind of feathers and bunnies to start in the warehouse. Yet Frio started to casually talk to the people in the room. He just slowly went around reassuring everyone that everything was fine and why he was here.
As I sat there in disbelief that heâd just let the bastard run away Genseng rounded a corner to see his getaway truck. Only to step around the corner and get punched squarely in the gut by Iloralia who was hiding there.
âCome on Genseng? Couldnât you do something original? This is starting to get boring!â Ilo extended a cattle prod and let the end buzz with electricity as an Extermination Officer van pulled up behind her.
The Gojid let out raspy breaths. âShould have- ⊠figured- ⊠heâd send his- ⊠BITCH! To wait in the alley!â The sleazy man sucked that insult back in when Ilo pressed the business end of her cattle prod to his throat.
âShut the fuck up. You have the right to remain silent, but for your sake⊠I hope youâre smart enough to use it!â Iloâs tail waved behind her with delight as Sephon climbed out of the van with a Gojid arrestor vest to cover Gensengâs quills and bind his arms.
I jumped as the video smash-cut to Sephon slamming down piece after piece of evidence on an interrogation room table in front of a nervous Gojid and his exhausted human lawyer. The angelic Tasamine sat on her perch gently drinking some tea as our perturbed Venlil explained each and every paper and photo that he threw on the table.
âFinally we have you on felony tax evasion. You do know you have to declare ALL sources of income right?â Genseng sheepishly looked to his lawyer, who just sat there with a defeated look on his face. âYou are looking at forty years behind bars for this Genseng! FORTY!â
Tasamine let her voice coo out over her cup of tea. âWe arenât going to do you any favours over the tax stuff. The IRS is over our jurisdiction on that, BUT we are prepared to drop the rest of the charges.â
Gensengâs lawyer appeared to wake up in an instant and elbowed his client before he could open his filthy mouth. âSo what do you want from my client in return for dropping the charges you have against him?â
Tas let out a little smile that set butterflies to flight in my stomach. âWe want everyone that Tas sold animals to. And we do mean EVERYONE.â
Sephon started to pace back and forth as the Gojid and lawyer talked amongst themselves. Eventually Genseng relented and turned to our heroes. âOk⊠SO I technically never really sold to a person per say⊠BUT I kept really good papers on all the businesses I did sell to!â
The conversation started to dull out as the camera began to pan back and into the observation room with Frio, Ilo, and a rather small Mazic. Frio stood stoically silent, his paw held gently under his jaw, lost in thought. Ilo was typing away on the computer crosschecking every business Genseng sold out.
The Mazic took a step forward. His badge now clearly showing that he was the Chief of the Avalon City Police. âI know those businesses⊠Why would he be selling pets toâŠâ The Chief huffed and stormed out of the observation room leaving Frio and Ilo slightly confused only to watch with an ounce of shock as the Police Chief walked into the interrogation room.
âYOU FUCKING IDIOT! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?â Genseng recoiled away from the angry Chief as his lawyer was trying to figure out what was happening. âYOU HAVE BEEN SELLING HUMAN PETS AS FOOD TO HUMANS! YOU KNOW LESS THAN ONE PERCENT OF HUMANS EVEN EAT ONCE-LIVE MEAT! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! MOST HUMANS GET VIOLENTLY ILL AT THE THOUGHT OF IT AND STRAIGHT VIOLENT IF TRICKED INTO IT! IF THIS GETS OUT THERE WILL BE RIOTS!â
Gensengâs lawyer slowly looked to his client with a look of anger and despair plastered on his face. The sleazy man just kinda shrugged. âI didnât make them buy it!â
âBUT YOU DIDNâT TELL THEM WHERE YOU GOT THE MEAT FROM DID YOU?â
âno?â
âOF COURSE YOU DIDNâT âCAUSE, HOW THEN, WOULD YOU GET RID OF YOUR UNWANTED ANIMALS?â
âHEY! IâVE GOT A GUY WHO TAKES THEM IN! I MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS HUMANE AND SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION AND ANYTHING UNWANTED GO TO THAT GUY! OK? NO MONEY TRANSACTION! ⊠I think he ships them back to Earth or something. No unethical stuff⊠except maybe selling Once-live as Cloned⊠but that isnât that bad! Humans only just considered Rabbits to be on par with dogs!â
The Chief of Police just stood there menacingly as the ever beautiful Tas asked a question. âWho is this man you give the animals to?â
Genseng slowly walked back to his seat. âI donât have a name. Just some dude wearing the old face hiding masks and a Pleather trench coat. Kinda creepy and usually lets the fat Venlil do the talking, but they scratch my back I scratch thierâs.â
The screen faded to black before coming back to their conference room and joined by the Chief of Police. âSo you think this individual is the same one behind the Sheep Operation?â
Ilo sat up in her chair. âIt seems to meet up with his M.O. of undermining food production.â
Tas brought a pair of population maps up on their projector. âJust looking at the before and after, the invasive rabbit population was miniscule at best. We had been doing a great job of catching them faster than they could repopulate. At least until their population unpredictably exploded into the hundreds of thousands.â
She swapped out the maps for a single one that showed several areas circled in red. âDNA testing on the rabbits has shown that they arenât spreading naturally. One population has no genetic relation to the others even though their areas overlap. It has to be someone introducing rabbits in waves to different locals.â
The Chief slowly shook his head. âDo we have any clues as to where the masked man is?â
Frioâs tail curled in delight. âWhy yes! Yes we do! He has a meetup with my good buddy Genseng who desperately doesnât want to spend the next forty years in jail.â
The small Mazic let out a low and insidious laugh âOH! I think I know where you are going with this. You have my support. Let's get this sting operation set up!â
In an instant the day flew by and night rose over the docks of Avalon City. Genseng drove down the roads and pulled around the corner of a large warehouse situated nearby. The sleazy man looked oddly calm. I wouldnât be surprised if this isnât his first time ratting.
Overlooking the docks from the warehouse was our team of heroes. Tas had set up a network of monitors and was observing the operation. Several disguised vans were parked nearby filled with Extermination Officers all biting to get a hold of their quarry.
Frio walked over and placed a paw on Tasamineâs wing, before speaking into a recorder. âLooking good Gen. Looks like I misplaced the paperwork on those charges. Get through this and I wonât have time to go looking for it!â
Gen let out a small chuckle. âHey Frio⊠Do you miss when we were kids? Getting into trouble. Scraping enough money together to buy lunch when our parents couldnât afford to feed us?â
Frio took a step back from the monitors. âYou said that in a really weird way⊠but yeah. Just the two of us. Sometimes we were delinquents scamming someone out of five credits and sometimes we were the heroes helping people out. Guess we took different pathsâŠâ
The greasy Gojid leaned back in the driver seat of his van. âI- ⊠I am kinda tired of living Frio⊠Itâs just⊠One deal after another with barely enough money to get from one job to the next⊠Do- ⊠Do you think I could get a job working with you guys?â
It almost looked like Frio was going to cry as his eyes watered up. âWell⊠we are a man down at the moment, but my team only hires experienced individuals. It would be hard work, but if you joined as an apprentice and applied yourself⊠I think you could make it.â
Genseng sat and fiddled with his paws for a few moments. âEven with my arrest record?â
âWe are the Exterminators not the City Police. I doubt there isnât a single one of us that hasn't done something that would get us blacklisted by them!â
Gen let out a light laugh. âAh good point! They hired you! Well Iâd- Wait. He's here.â
A long black limousine pulled up around the corner. Slowly and silently stopping beside them. Frio took a step back. âAlright everyone. It's go time. Gen, get ready to duck down if they open fire.â
With almost perfect unison every unmarked van and cruiser lit up with Yellow and Orange lights and started to race towards the Limo. But with a heart stopping âBWOOOOOMâ the Limo exploded into an inferno, sending metal flying through the docks at high speeds.
Genâs voice screamed over the radio for a brief moment before falling silent.
The next sounds we heard were of a heart monitor. Frio sat at the bedside of what I assumed to be Genseng. His body was covered entirely in bandages, with tubes running into his head and arms. Wires tracked his vital signs and, while steady, didnât look like they broadcasted good news.
Frio looked up to see Ilo leaning in the doorway. âThe limo was automated. No one on board. Mask either knew it was a setup or intended to end Genseng one way or the other.â She slowly walked over to Frio and nuzzled the side of his head. âI talked with the Doctors. They think heâll make it. Might be a few years, and he will have to learn how to do most things, but he will live.â
Ilo forced her way into awkwardly cuddling Frio. After a small moment of resisting he accepted the embrace and leaned back. âHow are we on tracking down the leads?â
She somehow managed to wrap herself around Frio as she quietly responded. âThe limo was a dead end. Everything was bought from scrap and assembled off-grid. Camera networks were wiped clean enough that even Tas couldnât scrape something off of the hard drives. DNA results on the rabbits gave us enough to work with Earth and track down the suppliers on that side, but they were using Genseng as a scapegoat and intermediary for all of it. I donât think he even realized that the man he was âgivingâ rabbits to was the man that arranged for him to be able to buy them in the first place.â
Frio wrapped his arms around her. âSo this whole operation was basically a money laundering scam with rabbits. They scarred him for life just to- to-â Tears ran down his cheeks as the pair embraced each other. The credits started to roll over the sounds of a heart monitor slowly pinging on. Gentle sobbing slowly faded away as the sound of claws on tile echoed through the speakers.
A rather portly Venlil was flanked on both sides by massive looking dogs. Sylvanâs Dad pointed out those where Karelian Bear Dogs. Bred to actually hunt one of Earthâs apex predators. The Fat Venlil, or Chublil as Sylvan said, walked into an immaculate office, where a man with a silvered mask and brown trench coat sat.
âSir? Operation Clean House is over. The results are one Gojid launderer hospitalized. He is expected to recover in a few years. When the exterminators watching him clear out an agent will enter with an air-filled syringe and fake death by heart-attack. As you expected the last meetup was a sting operation. Police remain slightly aware of your presence.â
A robotic voice came from the man. âGood work Gavreg. Did you enjoy your trip to Earth?â
âYessir. You were right. Bear meat is simply divine when prepared correctly.â
WHAT THE FUCK. WHY WOULD HE KNOW WHAT THAT TASTES LIKE?!?
âGlad to hear it. As for the Gojid, I think heâs gotten the message on what happens to people who cross us. Send him a normal fruit basket when he regains consciousness. Have it say⊠Sorry you got fired! Take a siesta!â
âVery well sir. Just to be clear, hold off on permanently silencing him?â
âHrm⊠Yes. He was always amusing to work with.â
âVery well sir. If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.â
The Fat Venlil turned and walked out of the room. Ending the episode and leaving the three of us sitting on the couch.
âYou know Loural is going to throw a fit if she finds out we let both Sylvan and Henry watch this!â
I wasnât proud but at least the humans screamed louder than I did.

Special thanks to
u/Dinomannick for the prompt
"I got a few ideas for the show. How about a few episodes have them dealing with invasive earth species on alien worlds, brought there for zoos, rich blokes pet, criminals, whatever. They have either catch or kill all of them before their establishing breeding populations and have the cane toad/rabbit problem like down-under. Think it might be interesting enough for future space TV?"
I hope this lived up to your expectations, and the bunny boom won't be relegated to just this episode either.

2023.05.28 14:17 MHere88 18M earning 30+ lacs a month
So a few days ago, I asked a general question for research, where I mentioned my income for a purpose.
I received a lot of DMs asking me about how I do it, so today InshaAllah Iâll tell you exactly everything youâll need and I am going to be completely transparent and gonna do it for the sake of Allah SWT and not for personal benefits.
Starting off, I going to turn 18 in a month InshaAllah, From the childhood, I was very interested in technology, built my first RC car at the age of 12 all by myself & I used to teach fellow students about strategy to study less & perform good.
So everything was going good but Covid ruined everything financially.
So by living at a very small house with very low expenses, total expense was around 40k and I couldnât see my parents struggle to find that amount.
So Iâve been a person interested in reading books, researching things up, writing diaries on whole topics etc.
I also learnt video editing, 2d animation and some programming stuff just for fun around a year before Covid.
So I used those skills to create some amazing video when I was 14 I guess, not sure, after many âFailedâ ideas, one of my video went viral and got 100million views in a single month and got me 300k subscribers, But right after a month, I got a copyright strike because I used copyright free music which was later bought by a copyright company.
So I still have the channel but itâs dead, even got silver play button from it.
At that time I learnt game development skills and I many other skills cause I was really into tech and couldnât leave something once I start it.
So my brother who was 4 years old gave me an idea of creating a fiverr account, my brother is Alhamdulillah a very intelligent kid and he is my best friend honestly.
So we created fiverr account, after 4 months, got first client, it was a small order, a very small one indeed.
It was a new technology but I learnt it and completed the project and got 5 star reviews Alhamdulillah.
So sales started coming, got 10 orders that month and gig ranking dropped, a scammer contacted me asked my to do a project for her, she was from India residing in USA, I had to learn several new softwares and worked for two months for $100 ( she didnât placed the order tho and asked me to talk on Skype so communication would be outside fiverr )
In short after two months she didnât placed order, took my work and made my fiverr suspended.
I was pretty shocked for 5 months but I never let me emotions take over me so,
In these five months, I learned to use each and every program and developed many strong skills and I was able to create results better than people with years of experience.
So started another fiverr and this time got 30 orders and my parents were happy and we decided to move into a new house which was also on rent, but the day we decided, my gig again deranked, this time I again worked hard for a well ( 18-20 hours a day ), used to eat at my table, and learnt metaverse and stuff related to that and Alhamdulillah that gig ranked.
then I moved out of fiverr and started researching about Sales, leads, marketing and Alhamdulillah started an agency offering metaverse services that got me to 10 lacs a month.
From that point onward, I focused on physical stuff, starting lifting weight ( a little bit ), started doing boxing and trained so much that now anybody can barely beat me in a spar, I researched a lot of different topics, wrote complete diaries about business and types ( if I hand that diary to a person with skills, he can build an empire within a year ) so basically there was a lot of info in it.
Also wrote diaries about boxing, public speaking and researching a lot.
Now my inter part 1 exams were in two months, so I decided to work full time for 1 months and Alhamdulillah grew income to 30 lacs+ and automated everything.
I am very well known in Intellectual conversations specially on serious topics like politics, religion & business, I've heard a tons of compliments in the past year Alhamdulillah & It gave me the motivation to keep learning & researching
So this was my story for everybody who is interested, it was full of hustle, I was a deep thinker so my backup plans have backups plans, and Iâve never been addicted to anything, nor phone, nor gaming etc Alhamdulillah.
So all thanks to Allah SWT, now good news for you guys, if you have any questions, dm me, Iâll be writing posts about the questions and Iâll try my best to answer everybody in inbox and comments but my exams are going on so donât mind the delay.
Another good news is I have mentored a lot of relatives and friends and Alhamdulillah by now theyâre all doing pretty good.
So I am thinking to start a YouTube channel in which Iâll teach you about every business model by showing case studies of my businesses, Iâve did YouTube, dropshipping, SMMA and almost everything possible in online world,
Iâll also help out everybody whether youâre a beginner and looking to start or a pro but looking to scale
itâll be completely free as I am doing it only to help everybody. So if you guys are interested, ask me any questions whatever you want but make sure to include âbeginnerâ if you have never earned from online stuff, âintermediateâ if your income is around 0-5 lacs âProâ if itâs 5-20 lacs âExtremely proâ if itâs above 20 lacs
If youâre a pro or extremely pro, Iâll help you out to grow even more cause I have a lot of networks and connections + experience in every field, and for beginners Iâll guide you throughout the path to make it super clear and easy for you.
For all my sisters, feel free to ask too cause a friend of mine who is like a sister to me, Iâll ask her help to help girls out, just use sturucture above so I wonât have to ask later.
Thanks and due to exams, It might take a little long for me to respond but Iâll definitely try my best.
JazakAllah!

2023.05.28 14:08 TatGemes2000 Dance of Celestials--Chapter 1
The east wind was frigid during this time of the year. Walking through the streets of Winterport slums was a young man with long silver hair and violet eyes on his handsome yet haggard face. He was about 6 feet tall with a lean and muscular body. He didn't have a lot of fat and looked a bit skinny in his jacket. As always, the man had a listless expression on his face masking any emotions.
âMorning Cal, up to the mines again?â said the portly old street food vendor while setting up his cart.
âHmm,â replied Cal.
âAlways so diligent if everyone else was like you then we wouldnât need that many enforcers. Be careful out there, I heard the shades are more violent and restless this time of the year. See you tonight,â said the old man.
âNot tonight. I have to monitor the deep mines.â
The old man gave him a worried look. He knew how dangerous it was in the deep mines during the winter. âYour terms have all been fulfilled, CallahanâŠ. You are no longer a slave, remember?â
âYes.â
âThen why continue this treacherous occupation? I know the moneyâs well but there are other jobs which wonât kill you just because you stepped on the wrong stone,â he said in frustration.
âI wonder,â Cal said quietly to himself and hurried on his way.
He couldnât remember the last time he had done something that made him genuinely happy. All his life he had followed orders. First his mother, then his masters, and now his so-called captain who never bats an eye while sending him to the most dangerous sections of the mine. Not like he can blame the captain as he never objects to any of the orders. To him, he must be the model enforcer. Always on time and never asking any questions.
He could never understand himself or his own actions. Maybe living on the edge of life and death is whatâs keeping him alive and distracted from all the pain and grief hidden in the deep recesses of his mind. Or maybe he just likes to fight.
Either way, there was something in the mines that kept calling to him. Something that could move his long cold heart. Maybe it could give him a solution to all the nightmares. Or maybe it would be his end. Well, that was also a solution.
âŠ
He arrived at the mine where he could see his captain handing out orders to the new recruits. All of them had hopeful looks on their faces like they were ready for a new page in their lives. All former mining slaves freed from their previous positions after they awakened their mana. The big smiles on their faces were obvious. They knew that this was their ticket to total freedom and exoneration from their previous crimes. Once they complete the basic service term of guarding the miners against the atrocities that surface from the deep mines for 2 years, their citizenship to the empire would be restored.
âNaĂŻve idiots,â thought captain Reginald. âIf it was so easy then we wouldnât make former slaves into enforcers when there were so many awakened in the city guards. Only one in ten ever survive past the 1-year mark and out of those survivors, half get corrupted and must be put down before they kill everyone else.â
âReporting for duty captain,â Cal said in an apathetic voice.
âIf it isnât my best enforcer on call. Why I was just waiting for you to get here. You donât know how relieved I am to see your face,â replied Reginald with a tone that failed to betray any sort of relief. âI was just teaching these new recruits about the shades and their duties but now that you are here, I was wondering if you had room for a few more enforcers on your patrols?â
âSir, I am going to the deep mines today they would only get in my way.â
âCome now donât be rude to your juniors how will they learn anything if they donât experience the real deal,â Reginald replied with an icy tone daring Cal to object.
Cal looked at the captainâs eyes for a moment and guessed that he must have made a bet with his friends on how many new recruits would survive past the first week again. âAs you command sir.â
âGood. Good. Now donât be that disappointed I am assigning you the three best recruits of this month. Iâm sure they can hold their own in a fight.â
Four years of serving under the captain had made him aware that the only way to hide from his attention is to never get under his nose. He had made that mistake once and the captain has still not let go of that resentment to this day. Always finding a way to make his life harder. Not that it mattered to Cal if someone hated him, but it still annoyed him when he had to put up with his whims.
Cal looked at the three new recruits and wondered if the captain was lying to him. One look at them and he could say with certainty that they would not live past the three-day mark in the deep mines. Not like he cared anyways.
âFollow me,â he said before walking past them and going towards the mine shafts. Several of the miners looked at him with awe in their eyes as he made his way to the deep mines. The three recruits following him like lost puppies.
One of the recruits with brown hair and black eyes suddenly spoke up.
âWhat should we call you sir?â
âCal,â he replied.
âNo, I meant your rank, sir. The captain just said that someone will be here to teach us how to deal with the shades, we donât know how to refer to you without offending you, sir. Oh, I am Bryan by the way.â
âNothing you say could ever offend me. And enforcers donât have ranks. At least not officially,â replied Cal. âThe longer you can survive here the more respected you are. Seniority is also determined that way. You are first-years and at your most vulnerable time right now so try not to die.â
âHeh, stop exaggerating I have fought shades with my bare hands before, they arenât anything special. Now that I have a flamestone sword nothing can beat me here,â said the blue-eyed and black-haired recruit with a grin. âYou can call me Phil and thatâs Safid,â he pointed at the last recruit with burly build and average looks. âWhich gang are you from Cal?â
âI donât like gangs,â replied Cal.
âYou must be some weakling who no one wanted,â Phil said in a mocking tone. âHow about you join my gang? I am going to make a new gang here once I get the hang of things with Safid. We are going to turn this place upside down and become the best gang. Ainât that right Safid?â
âYes boss,â said Safid with an enthusiastic voice.
Cal looked at Phil like he was watching a clown. Forget a gang these fools wonât last two minutes in front of the senior enforcers before being slaughtered like lambs. He shook his head and didnât bother talking with the soon-to-be deceased.
Phil didnât like how he was ignored. âYour loss, donât come crying to me when I am done taking over this place.â
âWhat year are you sir?â Bryan asked after a while.
âFourth,â Cal replied coolly.
Before he could ask anything else, Cal motioned for them to stop. They had arrived at the deep mines. Before them, everything was pitch black with only hints of light coming from the occasional flamestone lamps that were on the mine walls.
âIt's so dark here,â said Bryan. âWhy donât they add more lamps? I am sure our jobs would be easier if we had more visibility.â
âThey donât last,â said Cal. âThe shades consume all light. Only warded Flamestone lamps can be used here. And even those donât last long in the deep mines before being consumed.â
âConsumed?â
âThe fames inside the stones are consumed by whatever supernatural phenomenon shrouds the deep mines, thatâs why we enforcers always have to regularly change the flamestone lamps. Whatever consumes the flame stops it from recharging,â Cal stopped explaining and said, âNo more questions now. There could be shades anywhere, have your weapons ready.â
The three complied with his words and pulled out their swords from their sheaths. Cal started surveying his surroundings before making his way deeper. They didnât have to walk for long before coming across the first shade.
It looked almost indistinguishable from its surroundings. They only recognized it because of its white eyes and darker-than-black fur. It had a humanoid figure with a tail that ended with a sword-like structure and a height of 1.5 meters. Cal stepped forward and slashed his sword a few feet away from the monster before it could react. A long slash-shaped white light jumped out of his sword and went towards the shade. The moment it touched the shade it exploded into a bright white light which illuminated their surroundings and blinded the recruits for a few seconds. When they could see again the shade was gone. In its place was a small glowing stone. Cal picked up the stone and showed it to the recruits.
âFlamestone?â asked Bryan.
âYes,â replied Cal. âThatâs why the shades try their best to go to the upper mines. The flamestone lamps here are warded so they canât consume the flames themselves and there are no active flamestones in the deep mines, but the upper mines donât suffer from the same environmental phenomenon as here so the flamestones mined from there are all in their activated state. If they can somehow break past the enforcers in the deep mines, then they can go up and consume as much flamestone as they can before they evolve into shadows.â
While Cal didnât care if these recruits survived, he never half-assed his job so he would train them to the best of his abilities. Whether they were capable enough to follow his instructions was up to them.
âWhatâs a shadow?â asked Phil.
âSomething you donât want to meet,â replied Cal. âThe dropped flamestones are how we make our living. We can exchange them for our salary from the mine administrator.â
âWas that light mana that you used with your sword?â Bryan asked.
âYes,â he said.
âSo thatâs your aspect. Must be handy in this area,â noted Bryan.
âIt has its perks,â replied Cal. âBut thatâs enough babysitting. You are gonna fight the next one.â
âBut we canât release our mana yet,â Bryan said.
âIâm sure you learned how to use that sword in your training camp,â Cal said.
âYeah, stop being a wimp it's only a shade, boss could handle that with his bare hands,â said Safid who had been quiet for a while now.
âEven if we canât release mana our internal circulation is enough to considerably increase our strength from ordinary humans,â Phil said with some disdain in his voice.
As they were arguing with each other Cal heard some noise in front of them. âQuiet,â he said. âGet ready it's coming.â
All three took up proper stance and looked ahead. âAt least they arenât completely amateursâ Cal thought as another adolescent shade approach them.
Phil was the first to lunge forward and slash with his sword, but the shade jumped back before he reached it. It growled before swiping its claws towards Phil. Phil reacted quickly and blocked with his sword, but the claws were just a distraction as its tail swung from behind and hit his side. Phil screamed as blood dripped down from his abdomen. It was cut by the sharp tail sword.
âTch, not even a few seconds.â Cal was about to step forward when Bryan stepped in and stabbed his sword directly into the head of the shade while it was distracted with finishing off Phil.
âYou alright?â Bryan asked Phil.
âJust a small scratch I will be fine. I would have got him if you didnât step forward,â replied Phil.
âYou were never hit by a shade, were you?â Cal asked.
âNo,â Phil replied.
âWell then pray to whatever deity you believe in that you donât get infected.â
âArenât we immune to that after we awaken?â asked Bryan.
âNot weaklings like you no,â Cal replied. âOnly once you have fully assimilated your mana onto your blood vessels are you immune to that. You only have internal mana circulating in your veins. You have to slowly assimilate mana in your blood vessels so that you can fight off invaders entering your blood.â
âI wonât die just because of some fucking scratch,â Phil said though with some uncertainty.
âPatch yourself and get ready to move we still havenât reached our patrol area,â Cal ordered.
They began moving again once Phil took care of his wound. After an hour of walking and three more encounters with shades which Cal took care of due to Philâs delay, they finally reached their patrol area.
It was a fork in the road. One of the caves lead to a large cavern while the other went deeper into the mines.
âWe will set up camp here. That cavern to our left has already been fully mined so there arenât any flamestones over there. Hence more young shades are born over there. The lower the amount of flamestone, the easier it is for the deep mines to affect the surrounding environment. But the shades arenât as strong since young shades donât have any flamestones in them,â Cal explained while placing the flamestones picked from the previous shades around them to provide a better view.
âSo, the ones we fought earlier were very strong. That must be why I had a hard time dealing with the first one,â Phil said regaining his previous confidence.
âJust one step above the weakest. The more flamestone they drop the stronger they are,â replied Cal. âWe will be guarding this fork for 18 hours before the next shift takes over. Donât let your guard down just because you will be facing weaker enemies. Shades are very smart and will group up when they are young. We canât let them go deeper into the mines or towards the surface.â
Bryan raised his hand. Which was weird as he didnât do that before.
âYes,â Cal said letting him know that he could ask what he wanted.
âWhy canât we let them go down?â
âBecause they will be a nuisance and distraction to the other enforcers up ahead,â Cal replied.
âThere are others down there?â asked Phil.
âWhere there are flamestones there are miners. Even if they are in their inactive state here. You are lucky I was told to patrol this section of the deep mine today. Young shades canât infect the awakened. If we went deeper, you would not survive for long,â Cal said.
What followed next for the recruits was an excruciating hurdle of disposing waves of shades for hours upon hours until their bodies started to give in. Cal watched from the sides while taking care of most of the shades. Even still the recruits were having a hard time staying alive. Most of their bodies were covered in scratches. If they were ordinary humans they would have already been infected, maybe even corrupted. Cal was slightly impressed and realized he had underestimated them.
âHuh. They could at least survive five days rather than three,â he thought. However, he shouldnât have tempted fate as it turned out.

| I bought the about 3 weeks ago to play while recovering from major surgery, and never seen this car any where in the game. I'm playing story mode (offline without any mods or cheat codes) and can't find this car for sale anywhere in the game,at least not that I've found. I've made it through 91% of the game so far, and have built up pretty large bank accounts for each of the characters... Franklin -- 2,147,478,647 Michael -- 798,719,621 Trevor -- 1,468,679,739 I found this car not far from Franklin's house, and would like to know a little more about it if possible. Is it a special/rare vehicle that only appears at a specific point in the game, and are there any other ways to get it? Can anyone also tell me what other secret vehicles/items are hidden in story mode and where/how to find them. Thanks for any help anyone is able to give... 2023.05.28 14:00 Joadzilla Texas House of Representatives votes to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/27/politics/ken-paxton-impeachment-texas-house/index.html
The Texas House of Representatives has voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, an unprecedented move following a legislative probe that faulted the third-term Republican for a years-long pattern of corruption, including abusing his officeâs powers, retaliating against whistleblowers and obstructing justice.
Under state law, Paxton is now temporarily suspended from his duties as attorney general and will await a Senate trial.
The vote was 121-23, with two members voting âpresent.â
âThe evidence is substantial. It is alarming and unnerving,â said GOP Rep. Andrew Murr, chair of the General Investigating Committee, during his closing statement following hours of debate. The committee recommended 20 counts of impeachment against Paxton.
Democrat Rep. Harold Dutton was one of the members voting present. He said the impeachment vote had been rushed. âThe process by which weâre getting this done seems to be abbreviated to the point that it just encroaches on due process,â said Dutton.
Paxton denied wrongdoing in a Friday news conference, but focused his statements against the impeachment this week on his record as a key opponent of President Joe Biden. Paxtonâs office has filed dozens of lawsuits against the Biden administration.
The now-suspended attorney general called the impeachment a âpolitically motivated shamâ in a statement just minutes after the vote.
âThe ugly spectacle in the Texas House today confirmed the outrageous impeachment plot against me was never meant to be fair or just,â he said.
Paxton said he was never given a chance to present evidence refuting the findings of an investigation that he abused his office. He has cast House Speaker Dade Phelan, a Republican who presides over a chamber where his party currently holds 85 seats to Democratsâ 64, as a âliberal.â He continued his attack on Phelan saying, âPhelanâs coalition of Democrats and liberal Republicans is now in lockstep with the Biden Administration, the abortion industry, anti-gun zealots, and woke corporations.â
The Office of the Attorney General issued its own âcomprehensive reportâ about the allegations following the impeachment vote, saying it âunequivocally refutes incorrect testimonyâ against Paxton. The office also released a report it commissioned from an outside law firm, although the report from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith LLP notes it is based only on information and testimony provided by the attorney generalâs office.
Republican Governor Greg Abbott can appoint a provisional replacement while Paxton is temporarily suspended. Paxton would be reinstated if he is acquitted at his Senate trial.
The impeachment vote had its origins in an investigation launched in March by the General Investigating Committee of the Texas House after Paxton had asked the legislature to approve $3.3 million in government funds to settle a lawsuit with four whistleblowers who were fired from his office.
That investigation led the committee â a five-member panel investigating corruption in state government â to approve 20 articles of impeachment Thursday, setting up the vote in the full House.
During the debate Saturday, Rep. Charlie Geren, who is a Republican, claimed Paxton had threatened fellow House members.
âI would like to point out that several members of this House, while on the floor of this House doing the stateâs business, received telephone calls from General Paxton personally threatening them with political consequences in their next election,â Geren said.
Opponents of the impeachment largely declined to address the allegations against him, instead focusing on the investigation leading up to the proceedings. âI donât think today is about whether thereâs guilt or innocence. Itâs about the process,â said Rep. Tony Tinderholt.
âIâm not here to defend Ken Paxton,â Rep. John T. Smithee stated on the floor. He went on to say, âWhat youâre being asked to do today is to impeach without evidence. It is all rumor. It is all innuendo. It is all speculation.â
Paxtonâs impeachment is a stunning rebuke of a Republican official in a state where the GOP controls all levers of state government. Voters in Texas shrugged off the swirling scandals around Paxton last year, handing him a third term in Novemberâs election. Paxton had earlier fought off multiple opponents for the GOP nomination, including Bush family scion George P. Bush, the state land commissioner, whom he easily bested in a runoff.
Paxton has long been a controversial figure who has clashed with Texas legislative leadership. A conservative who has aligned himself with former President Donald Trump, he led a lawsuit in 2020 seeking to overturn Joe Bidenâs victory in the presidential election.
He retains support within the Texas GOP. In a statement Friday, state party chairman Matt Rinaldi blasted Phelan for what he called a âsham impeachment.â
âThe voters have supported General Paxton through three elections â and his popularity has only grown despite millions of dollars spent to try to defeat him. Now the Texas House is trying to overturn the election results,â Rinaldi said, adding that he was looking to the âprincipled leadershipâ of the Senate to ârestore sanity and reason for our state.â
In Texas, no attorney general has ever been impeached and removed from office. The only two elected officials to lose office as a result of impeachment were Gov. James Ferguson in 1917 and District Judge O.P. Carrillo in 1975.
For Paxton to be removed from office, two-thirds of the Texas Senateâs members who are present will have to vote to convict him. His wife, Angela Paxton, is a state senator representing a Dallas-area district.
Itâs not yet clear when the Senate, where Republicans have a 19-12 majority over Democrats, will conduct its trial. The stateâs legislative session is scheduled to end Monday.
While only the governor can call special sessions once the legislature is out of the biennial regular session, the Texas Constitution states that impeachment is the one issue for which the state House and Senate lawmakers can bring themselves into session without the governor, according to Mark Jones, a political science professor at Rice University.
Litany of legal trouble
The impeachment proceedings are the latest in a series of legal troubles for Paxton.
CNN has previously reported he was facing an FBI investigation for abuse of office and that Justice Department prosecutors in Washington, DC, took over a corruption investigation into Paxton. He is also under indictment for securities fraud in a separate, unrelated case. Paxton has denied all charges and allegations.
The state House probe came after Paxton had sought to settle a lawsuit with four former employees of the attorney generalâs office. Whistleblowers had accused him of using his authority to benefit political friend Nate Paul, a real estate investor who had donated tens of thousands of dollars to Paxtonâs campaign. In the settlement, Paxton apologized but did not admit fault or accept liability. He denied wrongdoing and said in a statement he had agreed to the settlement âto put this issue to rest.â
One of the impeachment articles accuses Paxton of using employees of the attorney generalâs office to write a legal opinion intended to help Paul avoid the foreclosure sale of properties owned by Paul and his businesses.
It was among a series of articles focused on Paxtonâs relationship with Paul, including accusations he hired an outside attorney who issued more than 30 grand jury subpoenas while investigating a âbaseless complaintâ made by Paul, benefited from Paul hiring a woman with whom Paxton âwas having an extramarital affair,â and provided Paul with favorable legal help in exchange for renovations on Paxtonâs home.
The articles of impeachment also detail what are described as Paxtonâs efforts to cause âprotractedâ delays in the securities fraud investigation.
And the articles say voters in November did not have a full understanding of Paxtonâs legal troubles because he had intentionally obscured the details of the charges he faces.
âPaxton then concealed the facts underlying his criminal charges from voters by causing protracted delay of the trial, which deprived the electorate of its opportunity to make an informed decision when voting for attorney general,â the impeachment articles state.
A wild week
The impeachment of Paxton follows a wild week in which the attorney general accused House Speaker Phelan of presiding over the House chamber while drunk and called for the speakerâs resignation.
On Tuesday, Paxton posted on Twitter a letter to the state House ethics panel, asking for an investigation into Phelan for performing his duties in what Paxton described as âan obviously intoxicated state.â
Paxtonâs call for Phelanâs resignation came after video circulated on social media last weekend of Phelan appearing to slur his words as he presided over the House chamber at the end of a late-night session. Paxton did not present any evidence beyond the video clips to support his claim Phelan was drunk.
âIt is with profound disappointment that I call on Speaker Dade Phelan to resign at the end of this legislative session,â Paxton said in a statement he posted on Twitter. âTexans were dismayed to witness his performance presiding over the Texas House in a state of apparent debilitating intoxication.â
Less than an hour later, the state House General Investigating Committee revealed it had subpoenaed records from Paxtonâs office as part of an investigation Phelanâs office said had started in March. The committee, whose members are appointed by Phelan, voted unanimously Thursday to recommend Paxtonâs impeachment.
Phelanâs office said Paxtonâs allegation was merely retaliation for the House ethics panelâs probe.
âMr. Paxtonâs statement today amounts to little more than a last-ditch effort to save face,â Phelan communications director Cait Wittman said in a statement Tuesday.
Democratic Rep. Terry Canales said the broader context of last weekâs all-day session made clear Phelan âwas not under the influence.â
âAt that point in the night the House had been in session over 13 hours and we had been doing so for multiple days in a row. We were all exhausted,â Canales said in a statement. âNevertheless, I had multiple interactions with the speaker throughout the day and that night and I can say unequivocally he was not under the influence.â

2023.05.28 13:58 Man_in_the_uk Can you have too much wax?
So the guys down the road who wash cars like to use spray on wax, I would however like to use a proper wax product like Turtle Wax Hard Shell Finish (Halfords are doing a bank holiday sale BTW) which claims to last for up to 12 months. Is it appropriate to have this added onto the existing spray on wax or should I ask them just to clean and dry? I don't think the car wash do decent wax. I need to fix up a small rusty spot first though. I've read the wax acts like a filler, the car had some light scratches which I repaird 95% of but felt a bit scared to go over year again with the G3 Pro Scratch remover in case I mess up the lacquer. Thanks in advance.

Anyways enough waffle - letâs get into this weekâs shenanigans. This is a surprisingly fun fight night card, I love these events that are lower on name value but just full of decent talent and exciting matchups. This is definitely one of them and generally when you have slightly lesser talent stacked fight nights, you have a night full of violence and finishes - letâs see if that continues in this one. Onto the breakdowns!
Maxim Grishin (32-9-2) vs. Philipe Lins (16-5): Grishin is a tall, orthodox fighter who is just a real good mixed martial artist. He is a big frame for the LHW division, is strong and still has fairly slow, plodding style of movement and footwork. Is good in the clinch, very good at holding position by winning underhooks and using his big head to frame against the neck of his opponent and keep them in position for taxing knees to the body and just wearing on them with his big frame. I like his ability to keep the fight in his range, using slight forward pressure and a decent feint game to his advantage. Can be a little heavy set on the lead leg so should look out for the speedy outside leg kick of Lins in this one - Grishin is also pretty handy at catching the body kick and punishing. Personally, never been massively high on Lins in his career, admittedly he has looked better since dropping to his proper weight class post juice cycle but it is against weak competition. He is OK everywhere but not great anywhere, I do like his hand-speed with his boxing combos especially when pressuring forward. I think he mixes in takedowns well in his game at times but he can also be held against the cage. I probably slightly edge Lins in terms of cardio but I also do think this is a massive watch the scales fight due to Grishinâs size and propensity for bad weight cuts. This is a tough fight to call given both guys are fairly unimpressive. I favour the speed of Lins with the hand-speed and kicks definitely but he doesnât set them up intelligently. I think Grishin can hold Lins against the cage, wear on him with his size and win minutes. I capped this fight 50/50 and I think we see a close fight, will take
Maxim Grishin by UD but with very low confidence.
BET: No bet.
Luan Lacerda (12-2) vs. Da'Mon Blackshear (12-5-1): I like what I saw on debut from Lacerda - he has a very Muay Thai style of fighting, very flat-footed with a high guard, move forward pressuring with the lead leg ready to pop up and check kicks quickly. He has sharp, fast hands and particularly his hooks to the body are very technically sound. Against Stamann he was able to mix some grappling in when it suited but it is clear he is more of an Aldo style fighter that prefers to stuff takedowns and keep it on the feet. Coming up against Blackshear here who I have been very impressed with even though he is off 2 losses. Daâmon is a super well rounded guy, I like his creative offence on the feet and I also like his offensive grappling ability on the ground too. Defensively, he leave a little more to be desired and can be a little comfortable with fighting off his back which I donât particularly like. We havenât seen too much grappling from Lacerda so will be interested to see how he fares in this one but I think the technicality of Lacerda on the feet, the ability to mix his targets to the head, body and legs and just land the more damaging strikes will edge him this one. Taking
Luan Lacerda by UD. BET: No bet.
Jinh Yu Frey (11-8) vs. Elise Reed (6-3): I would be doing a disservice to everyone who reads this if I honestly told you with any level of confidence that you should put your hard earned money anywhere near this fight. Donât, simple as that.
Daniel Santos (10-2) vs. Johnny Munoz Jr. (12-2): This is a super fun matchup between two very efficient grapplers which should make for a exciting scrap here. Letâs start with Daniel Santos, if you knew nothing of this guy and watched him fight and had half a clue on MMA, you would know immediately that he is a Chute Boxe fighter. He has relentless forward pressure, irresponsible boxing defence and is a very kill or be killed style fighter. I like his stalking style, but he has little head movement besides the pull counter really, likes to pressure you until that back foot is up against the cage and then explode in with spinning attacks or elbows from weird angles. He keeps his hands high but then head on centre line and thus far has shown some crazy durability but this can only get you so far. Looks to have solid grappling, not accepting bottom position and constantly looking to invert and throw up submissions. Against Arce he looked good however Arce was able to be elusive with his footwork, stick and move and use angles well to counter in and out of range. I think against anyone who can effectively stay on the outside and use smart, straight shots effectively, he will struggle. I just donât think that guy is Munoz JR on the feet - he is clunky, doesnât throw in combinations and looks to parry alot of shots defensively which I really donât like against a guy who throws wild, unorthodox strikes in Santos. He is a solid wrestler with some good offensive TD numbers but he has to be careful not to shoot unintelligently and throw himself into a submission which will make him hesitant and have to strike. I think Munozâs wins have been against low level guys who arenât in the promotion anymore and I think this is a bad stylistic fight for him. I think Santos will land the more damaging shots and I fancy he gets him out of here in under 2 rounds. Taking
Daniel Santos via TKO RD 1. BET: Like the look of the Santos moneyline, fancy Santos Inside the Distance too but will wait to see what price this opens at. If we get anything in the realm of +125 to -120, I would look at a 1.5 unit play. Under 2.5 rounds is an option also depending on price, I think it will probably be around the -200 to -250 play so anything south of that will be a play too.
Andrei Arlovski (34-21) vs. Don'Tale Mayes (9-5): Huge experience edge to the old-dawg here in Arlovski. Mayes has been everything but impressive thus far in his UFC career and I donât know how you could be intrigued to play either side in this one. Mayes can hit hard and is reasonably athletic for the HW division but skill for skill outside the boxing, he doesnât offer a lot. I couldnât be confident on ever betting him to be quite honest. You know what youâre going to get with Arlovski and that is volume, if his chin can handle what is coming back at him. He is a special for split decisions so if youâre a degen and want action, look to that but for me, no interest here. Will take the side of
Andrei Arlovksi via UD using his volume and experience but you couldnât be more lower confidence.
John Castañeda (19-6) vs. Muin Gafurov (18-4) : Gafurov taking this on short-notice with Castaneda set to take on Mendonca before that was cancelled and replaced with possibly the furthest opposite style of fighter. The Gafurov gameplan is simple, contest on the feet, use blitz attacks such as looping overhands when moving forward followed by a double leg against the cage and rely on his Sambo capabilities to hold top position and out-work his opponent. Castañeda is a guy that doesnt get a huge amount of spotlight but I like his game alot. He has nice footwork, good striking out of southpaw and orthodox, has good wrestling entries and is able to grapple competitively, just a solid all around mixed martial artist. In this one, I really favour the movement and footwork of Castañeda and I think the speed is going to give Gafurov issues. Castañeda is sitting at a 60% TD Defence rate which is concerning against a guy who will consistently shoot like Gafurov, but I think Castañeda will be hard to find, using the angles in and out of the pocket and throwing quick shots up the middle to dissuade and make Gafurov think. I like
John Sexi Mexi Castañeda to win this one by UD. BET: No lines opened yet but have capped Castañeda as a 60% winning chance.
Elizeu Zaleski (23-7) vs. Abubakar Nurmagomedov (17-3-1): Zaleski is an interesting fighter to me. Good sprawl, solid TD Def against the cage, good balance and strength to win underhooks. Quite a flat-footed striker, not a massive amount of footwork but I like his rear leg power kick, he hits the body well and switches levels nicely. Relatively low volume and works single shots mainly without a massive amount of feinting. The frequency that he fights worries me but it has been the story of his career. Abubakr is the typical Dagestani fighter, limited stand up basically a quick overhand right and other single shots, tied in with a grinding, gruelling wrestling pace. He seems on the lower end of the Nurmagomedov scale in terms of skill, often leaving himself open to submission when in top control whether itâs knee-bars or even the common triangle. He is able to hold a good pace over 15 mins which is good given how top heavy and smothering he can be at times. He fights out of both stances, looks more comfortable out of OD but if he fights SP, I think he will lose this fight. Zaleski is too sharp on the feet especially with the body kicks and straight shots which will only be accentuated in the opposite stances. I also think the knees for Zaleski are going to be huge here, he throws them with bad intentions in the centre and against the cage which tied in with his teeps and front kicks are a dangerous sight for Abubakr. Abubakr is a good chance at smothering the fire power of Zaleski and just wearing on him but I think he is dangerous enough off his back to survive and challenge at times and I expect the damage will start to add up on the Zaleski side and I think we see a finish. Taking
Elizeu Zaleski via TKO RD 2. BET: Zaleksi ITD will be a play if over +200. Moneyline odds are probably bang on.
Guram Kutateladze (12-3) vs. Jamie Mullarkey (16-5): Guram has a K1 kickboxing background and it shows, very high level on the feet with good head movement and sharp, unpredictable strikes set up with a smart feint game. He has really good distance management, uses great fundamentals and is super quick with his hand-speed and he finishes combos with kicks which I love, its that kickboxing mentality. He fights out of All Stars which shows in his TD Defence especially against the fence, he is clearly strong but has very good wrestling and counter wrestling technique. He has had a super high level of competition and performed very well in wins and losses, we just donât see him active enough due to injuries and bad luck. Mullarkey is an absolute junkyard dog, pushing the pace and moving forward with intense pressure making you fight every second of that 15 minutes. He like to engage in the pocket, for better or worse, and in recent times we have seen his wrestling really shine through some of these tough scraps. He has a nice jab which I expect to be pumping prior to every combo and entry for Mullarkey. I just think at this point in his career this is quite a tough fight for Mullarkey. Guram is a super high-level striker with a good base for stuffing takedowns and keeping the fight in kickboxing range. I expect Mullarkey to want to close distance and engage, I just donât think defensively he is strong enough to absorb and adapt to the speed and combinations of Guram and I think we see that chin tested for Mullarkey. I think this is a bit of a step down in competition for Guram although if Mullarkey can get some early takedowns it will be interesting to see the gastank of Guram tested. The activity is always a question mark but at this point I think Guram should win this handily, will be taking
Guram Kutateladze via TKO RD 2. BET: Wouldnât touch Guram at -350 but he should win.
Karine Silva (15-4) vs. Ketlen Souza (13-3): Silva should win here but at that price, even blind Freddie could see that this is a pass on the moneylines. Silva actually has a high finishing ability in terms of WMMA, so if we can get a good price on a fight doesnt go the distance line, that could be an option here.
BET: Wait for round lines to drop.
Tim Elliott (18-12-1) vs. Victor Altamirano (12-2): Altamirano is a SP fighter, fairly unusual style of striking with sort of a Tony Ferguson style mixed in with some well timed takedown attempts. He has very little power in his strikes but OK volume. Defensively, he leaves a lot to be desired with a modified sort of philly shell style where his lead hand is low and near the hip, he does get hit and often but he has shown very good durability. His takedowns worry me at times because he is very content to dip his head to an advancing opponent and run a double or single leg, he is very open to knees and front kicks up the middle. Tim Elliott lives up to his nickname of âAwkwardâ extremely well. He has bizarre head movement, footwork and feints that all tie in to his sort of herky jerky style of fighting. He is able to tie his wrestling game in very well, Iâd say technically he is far more technically sound than Victor. He does put himself into submission opportunities with some of his entries but im not too worried about that in this fight. This has the potential to be one of the worst fights we have seen TBH and only because of how weird and unorthodox these guys are, the awkwardness really has the potential to make this fight a strange one. I am pretty confident that Tim has the grappling/wrestling edge and also the more diverse and comfortable striker, the recent occurrence with Tim and Gina Mazany in the media does give me pause that he might be coming into this too emotional but I think it may fire him up to really perform. I think Tim is under his value here and can win in a multitude of ways, going to take
Tim Elliott via UD. BET: Tim Elliott Moneyline -175 (2 Units to win 1.14 Units) Jim Miller (35-17) vs. Jared Gordon (19-6): I will keep this one short and simple, Gordon is a really bad stylistic matchup for Miller and would win probably 7/10 times currently BUT he is returning way too soon after getting KOâd by that headbutt from Bobby Green. Gordon has good wrestling and generally good durability with a knack for pushing these grinding paces and outworking and outlasting his opponent. Pair that up with good submission defence and thats a horror fight for A10 Miller. But you can never count Jim out, he hits hard for a vet, he is unorthodox and he has the potential to catch you. For me, Gordon should roll here but I love to play Jim Miller round one given that is his money round - have cashed plenty on this through his career! Short breakdown and not a thorough one, I think Jared Gordon should win this fight but I think it is too soon. I will take
Jared Gordon via UD**,** but take it with a pinch of salt.
BET: Jim Miller wins round 1 (price not available yet, .75 units) Alex Caceres (20-13) vs. Daniel Pineda (28-14): Havenât had time to break this one down yet but will update if any bets come off it!
Kai Kara-France (24-10) vs. Amir Albazi (16-1): KKF is a kickboxing fighter who we have seen develop nicely through his career in the UFC. He has worked tirelessly on his takedown defence and it shows in his huge improvement in ability to not only stuff shots but his ability to use the cage and his excellent balance to keep his feet underneath him. I think KKFâs hands are still fairly rudimentary and not necessarily in a bad way, he uses the jab decently well and relies on the 1,2 sometimes too much. For his weight, he has good power and one area I really like are his leg kicks, he has solid rear leg power kicks that he lands very efficiently off the back of his straight shots. Albazi is more of a grappler in nature with a majority of his victories by submission but I have liked what I have seen from him on the feet also. He has a sharp, snappy jab which he works off the back of and allows to dictate the fight. He has a pretty limited kicking game and in terms of kick defence, I expect KKF to really try and exploit the lack of checking and the heavy set stature of Albazi. In the grappling realm, I donât think itâs close. Albazi has some elite scrambles on the mat and if youâre content to sit in his guard, he has some really damaging ground and pound in which he will equally target your head and body and punish you and wear on you. Albazi is far superior in terms of grappling but the question is will he be able to get it down to the mat? I think his timing going under the big right hand will be an option and I think he will be able to use his strength advantage when in close to muscle certain movements. This is a big step up in competition and his first venture into main event rounds which is a worry. This is going to be a fun fight and I am really looking forward to it but I think as long as everything looks good after weigh-ins, I will be on the Albazi side. He is improving with every fight and I think we see him get this fight to the ground and wear on KKF, eventually finding a submission, probably a RNC. Taking
Amir Albazi via SUB RD 3. BET: Will wait to see what round lines are set at. Will be looking at the Albazi Inside the Distance line also.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And that wraps up the breakdowns for this week! We send our followers the full betting cards on Saturday morning here in Australia, post weigh-ins. Nothing worse than betting on a fighter pre weigh-in, just to see him look like complete shit on the scales. We will post some of our betting card here incase anyone is interested!
Good luck, always gamble responsibly and remember to hang around long-term because there will be ups and downs but trust the process and we will build some bankroll. Would love to know if you agree or disagree anywhere and let us know who you are riding with below. Enjoy the fights! - Dylan.

Hello there! My name is Aspen, I'm 19, & will be 20 in less than 3 weeks from now. I'm a sweet brat, that is ultimately looking for a forever Dom to start fresh with and can take care of her fully, soul, body & mind. I'm looking for a LONG-TERM ROMANTIC DYNAMIC! I post every now and again, and I've decided to sit down and rewrite myself a bit better!
( đđđŁđź đđ©đđđ đź-đŁđ€đ©đ; There are photos of me on my profile, but I'm happy to share more photos of my face when comfortable! ) đ

That concludes my must-haves!
Next up on this adventure is about me!
Heyo! My name is Aspen, as we know. I'm a neurodivergent & autistic switch, with a sub lean! I work as a graphic designer, and I'm also an on-stage performer for theatre/actress for work, and I love my job!
A big pintical part of me as a person, is that I am neurodivergent, and a high needs sub in addition to that. Kink IS a lifestyle for me, and I need a Dom that can make time for someone like me. I absolutely adore descriptive partners, and ultimately, DO need that as apart of my accomodations as it allows me to better understand you and helps me process things better! It's also important to say I have bpd, please do your research/be experienced with mood disorders like that as well! I can be a bit of handful, don't waste your time with me if you are not willing to take the time to understand me as I am for you.
Heres a bit about what I do, my hobbies and special interests!
I adore baking/cooking, history/periodic stuff. Theatre Arts, arts n crafts, sewing, wood working, and so so much more! I absolutely love bugs and some insects, and my favorites are bagworm moth caterpillars, death head hawk moth, and lace bugs! I can/and most likely will go on and on about how much I appreciate them and why we should protect them at all cost! I've been studying bugs since I was about 6, and they are my comfort special interests. More so a trauma response, but yeah! A new thing I've been investing my time in, is writing lore for a new stuffed animal of mine! And I'd absolutely love to tell you all about my sweet boy! (Stuffed Animal) If you're interested in doing so! His name is Oswald, and a monster many of my stuffed animals, I love him deathly.
Looks are important, soooo! Down below, I've attached a description of me. I'm 4'11, 96 pounds/generally slim, have 6 piercings (3/6 are facial),big sparkly eyes, button nose, big & pretty smile, and a nice butt! Generally my style is alternative, (romantic goth, fairy, & gloomy coquette!) But my style is generally ever changing, and evolving always. I'm also a sucker for pretty lingerie and heels.
More nerdy facts about me are, I'm heavily into dnd (it's a hyperfixation), getting into Star Wars and, I plan on doing a marvel marathon soon! I'm currently having a Harry Potter marathon. I'm heavily into psychology and true crime. I adore learning about what makes the brain honk and twist in ways and what not! It also helps me understand myself more and more. I adorreeeeee history, and have a bunch of history facts logged into the back in my brain; maybe we can go on endless conversations about some we've beven thinking of. Like I said, I adore history and periodic stuff, what's an era you enjoy or idolize?
Now, what am I looking for you may be asking? Read along!
I'm looking for a long-term dynamic, that can not only be sexual, but romantic! I'm looking for an caring, compassionate and nurturing person who isn't just looking for a quick fix/fling. I'm looking for someone that will take the time to earn my submission, and learn me as a sub. The end goal is to be owned, soul, body, & mind. I'm a sapiosexual in nature, and I love intelligence, and intellectuals. If you can write walls of texts, and tell me everything that fascinates you, you are my type entirely. Take control of me, and tell me sweet nothings.
( đđđŁđź đđ©đđđ đź-đŁđ€đ©đ; If you live near by, or even in the same city, I'd absolutely adore to go on a cute little date (sfw), to further get to know each-other. I'm also open to relocation if/when I'm comfortable, and if/when that comes up in the future!) đ
I have 7 years of experience in general BDSM and more, out of trauma unfortunately, however I am on the personal adventure of healing, I'm currently 2 years self harm free, on the road to 3 years! Back on track however, I would prefer someone with atleast some experience. I'm looking to indulge and get to know a dominant, before I'm to accept him in as "mine". I'm looking to have a foundation dynamic of cg/l, with other things added into the recipe (Sub/Dom, Pet/Owner, etc etc.). Nothing is completely set in stone, but this is what I primarily want, though it is on the table to discuss!
My preferred submissive style is very mixed. I'm a little at heart, and someone who has pet temdicies aswell. Kink is a lifestyle for me and thus, I'm looking for a tpe style dynamic, but nothing is set in stone and everything can be discussed to fit both of our needs and quirks!
Structure is really, really important to me and I'd truly love to have rules, punishment and reward system, a schedule perhaps, and just general stability provided and given. I also have some more extreme and rougher kinds, so preferably someone that's willing to do some of that. I like effort and consistency in a partner, and especially people who know and can accurately identify what they want/are looking for; I don't want to be an experiment! My love languages are love letters, parallel play & additionally time together, physical touch and that sums most of em up! I'm looking for someone that is ultimately sweet, stern, sadistic in all the right ways, but nurturing and can protect me. Someone patient is definitely a must, and someone who can communicate effectively and very concisely! I struggle with communication, so having a Dom to work with me through situations, and being patient with me is much needed and appreciated.
Onto what I'm NOT looking for, do not pm/dm, chat or message me, if you; are looking for a fling, fwb or nsa. This being said, I also am not looking for "discreet" people, starting affairs, or anything illegal. Like I've said, I'm looking for something long-term and fulfilling, not something short and sexually relieving for a few hours.
I AM OKAY, with single people, couples (consensual), people of ANYY gender! In a relationship, I'd say I admire someone who isn't serious all the time, and someone who is confident in who they are and who they're with; don't be ashamed to be seen with me, or distant in public. Hold my hand, look at me like I'm the prettiest thing in the room. Be proud of me, just as I am you. Be confident in what you can/have to offer.
I'm a very sweet, caring, loving, and otherwise; affectionate person. I will try my best to accommodate you (within reason), and support you! I'd prefer someone who isn't busy day in-and-day out, (if you have plans stacked from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, we won't work.) as like I said, I'm a high needs sub. But I definitely can give you space when you need it and respect you when you go to work, I'm a hopeless romantic when I attach to you and I write love letters from the heart to remind you how much I love and appreciate you, and much more. I'm a huge experimentalist, and don't mind much but I do have my limits; primarily I don't have anything I'm wanting to try as of late, nor am I looking in particular to try something new. A major plus about me is, I have a very long and in-deph kink list (and more importantly, a limit list.) I also prefer if you weren't heavily religious, traditional, or political (preachy types.), or anti-lgbtq+. As long as you aren't an asshole and put effort in, I will be willing to talk to you!
YOU SHOULD BE/ARE; I'd personally prefer if you were chubby, for built-in cuddle machine, though it's not an absolute must. Over 21, and also neurodivergent. A woman OR bearded, tattooed, or have piercings. Queer preferably. Goofy/silly sometimes, can hold a conversation/good conversationalist and have time for me/willing to make time for me as I am for you. And of course match with what I'm looking for and what I want. Similar taste and interests.
To wrap this up, to start of the conversation, send me a DETAILED introduction ( no, bare minimum doesn't count. >:c ), of yourself, and in it, please answer one of the following questions; What is your favorite bug or insect, your favorite musical (no Disney doesn't count, to make it extra hard), not a fan of either? How was your day/night yesterday? I'd love to call and get to know you, as I think we can better understand eachother. and I also need it as it helps comprehend your tone and such.
Even if you're not interested, thanks for coming along on this adventure, traveler, here's 58 tokens for your troubles, good luck! đ

2023.05.28 13:27 Sufficient_Hunt9591 What did the father mean by "that's bullshit"?
Though my father made most of the funeral arrangements, he left it to me to pick the cemetery, headstone, and epitaph. My mother had made it clear she wanted to be cremated, but beyond that, she never mentioned anything about her service, and of course weâd never dared to ask. I didnât believe in an afterlife, but I couldnât help but want to do right by her, her spirit very much alive in the reproaches I imagined of the outfit Iâd dressed her in, of the headstone Iâd chosen. I picked what I thought to be the most tasteful, a bronze headstone with ivy embossed along the edges. On it we arranged to record her name, birth and death days, and LOVELY MOTHER, WIFE, AND BEST FRIEND. Lovely was an adjective my mother adored. Sheâd told me once if pressed to describe me in a single word, lovely would be the one sheâd choose. She felt it encompassed an ideal beauty and ardor. It felt a fitting epitaph. To be a loving mother was to be known for a service, but to be a lovely mother was to possess a charm all your own. I chose a cemetery between our house and town, halfway down the hill, enclosed by a long brick wall with an iron gate. My father confessed to a minor fear of burial, convinced the insects would exact karmic retribution for his years spent as an exterminator, but it was important to me that her ashes be buried in the ground. I wanted to be able to bring flowers and have somewhere to put them. I wanted a place where I could fall against the earth, collapse on the ground, and in the various seasons weep in the grass and dirt, not stand upright before display shelves as if I were visiting a bank or a library. My father bought two plots side by side. He met with a priest to plan a Christian service, which I didnât bother contesting though it felt somewhat disingenuous. I knew it was the easiest thing and would make other people happy, which is ultimately what she would have wanted. At the blue wraparound desk in my childhood bedroom, where I wrote all my papers in high school, where just two weeks before Iâd written my wedding vows, I struggled to write her eulogy, to find the words to encompass her in a single page. It was difficult to write about someone I felt I knew so well. The words were unwieldy, engorged with pretension. I wanted to uncover something special about her that only I could reveal. That she was so much more than a housewife, than a mother. That she was her own spectacular individual. Perhaps I was still sanctimoniously belittling the two roles she was ultimately most proud of, unable to accept that the same degree of fulfillment may await those who wish to nurture and love as those who seek to earn and create. Her art was the love that beat on in her loved ones, a contribution to the world that could be just as monumental as a song or a book. There could not be one without the other. Maybe I was just terrified that I might be the closest thing she had to leaving a piece of herself behind. -omitted- There was a small reception. Cups of pretzels and trail mix had been laid out by someone, and I felt some remorse that I hadnât been more involved in the planning. I felt awkward, like my mother had at Eunmiâs funeral, unsure of how to behave. The pressure to perform and cater to others felt like holding in a sneeze. When it was over I collected all the bouquets, not wanting to leave a single flower behind. I had a selfish, desperate desire for her gravesite to be so packed with blossoms and bulbs that you could see them from the road. I wanted to advertise how deeply loved my mother had been. I wanted every passerby to question if they had a love like that. We took her remains to the gravesite. The procession was private, just two cars full of the family staying with us. Her plot was under a tree nestled high on the cemeteryâs sloping hill. I looked down at the headstone. âDad, it says âlovingâŠâ â I whispered. âThatâs bullshit,â he said.
