While discussions about the nature and goals of beings such as Anu and Padomay or Akatosh and Lorkhan abound in the lore, sometimes I feel that more attention should be paid to a third archetype that comes time and time again in Tamrielic cosmologies: the Mother Goddess.
While it’s difficult to define the exact features and requirements of the “mother goddess” label, both in Tamriel and in real life, I think that there are a few elements that are repeated across cultures:

• The Mother Goddess is usually the chief female deity, either because she’s considered the most important or powerful of the goddesses or because she’s the only female deity in the pantheon (with interesting implications for the Enantiomorph).
  
• The Mother Goddess has a fundamental role in each culture’s tales of creation. It should be noted that the concept of “creation” here is not necessarily limited to the universal cosmogony; the creation of a race may be equally or even more important in the nation’s mythology.
  
• The spheres of the Mother Goddess tend to revolve around concepts of birth and nurturing. This includes, but is not limited to: motherhood, fertility, agriculture, family, love, children, nature, protection, healing, etc.
  

Assuming this definition is more or less correct, I think we can identify some potential candidates:
NiNirn/Nirni
If the Monomyth represents the eternal conflict between the IS and the IS NOT, Nirn represents the Gray Maybe. No, seriously, ‘Nirn’ literally means ‘Gray Maybe’ in Ehlnofex. She is not usually personified, but when she is, her role is crucial. In the Anuad, Nir is the female principle of the cosmos who was born from the interplay of Anu and Padomay and, in turn, gives birth to Creation. Her twelve worlds are shattered and then put back together in one world: Nirn. Meanwhile, among the Khajiit, Nirni receives Fadomai’s greatest gift: to give birth to many children. It is for her that Lorkhan created the mortal world, and ancient cults would call her “the Green Mother”.
Mara/Morwha
Of all the Tamrielic deities, Mara arguably fits the “mother goddess” trope better than anyone else. Actively revered in more places than Akatosh or Lorkhan, she is explicitly recognized as “Mother-Goddess” in Varieties of Faith and other sources since Daggerfall, and her titles include epithets such as ‘Mother Mara’, ‘Mother Mild’ and ‘Mother Cat’, among others. Starting as a fertility goddess, her spheres across cultures include love, compassion, agriculture and life. She is also the patron of marriages, and she’s involved in the apotheosis of Arkay according to one version of his myth.
More interestingly, Varieties of Faith says that she is sometimes associated with the aforementioned Nir of the Anuad, implying that she may be to Nir what Akatosh and Lorkhan are to Anu and Padomay, respectively. Her place in the pantheon might also be an echo of the Anuad, for she is usually the main wife of the local head god. The exception is Skyrim, where she is Shor’s concubine and Kyne’s handmaiden. I’ll talk more about that in the future.
Kyne
With the Goddess of Storm we start a trend of mother goddesses that have more racial connotations. Kyne may not be the mother of Creation, but she is revered as the “Mother of Men” or “Mother of Nords”. Indeed, the Nords consider themselves the Sons and Daughters of Kyne, which has direct ties to the creation tale of humanity in Children of the Sky. This is enough to put Kyne in a position of preeminence in the Nordic pantheon; in the absence of Shor, her widow seems to act the de facto head of the religion. Mara exists, but she is subservient to her as her handmaiden. Kyne is also the one who leads valiant Nord souls to Sovngarde, earning her another nurturing moniker: the Kiss at the End.
This cultural favoritism, however, doesn’t apply to her counterparts in other pantheons. Khenarthi retains her role as a psychopomp, but several other female deities compete for the title of mother goddess. Kynareth and Tava are widely revered by other human groups, but she never has the same position she enjoys among the Nords. At best, she is a “mother” like Mother Nature (“fear and respect Nature and all Her Creations”), whose children are the animals that people hunt (or that hunt people), a meaning shared even by those who hate her.
Azura/Azurah
It may seem strange that a Daedric Prince, a being belonging to a group literally called “not out ancestors”, could be a mother goddess. However, there is more to motherhood than shared blood, and Azura is seen as the spiritual ancestor of several groups in Tamriel, beginning with the Dark Elves. While Boethiah and Mephala are often represented as goddesses throughout the continent, Azura is the only member of the Good Daedra that is consistently female in Dunmer cosmology. She is “a communal progenitor of the race as a whole”, and she may be called Mother Soul or Mother of the Rose. Love is also a huge part of her dogma and worship, as several cultists tell us.
That said, it is among the Khajiit where Azurah fully embraces the role of mother goddess. She plays a fundamental role in the creation of their race, not unlike Kyne among the Nords, and in ancient times all sorts of cosmogonical feats would be attributed to the Mother of All Khajiit. While her role in the pantheon has been diminished after the Riddle’Thar Epiphany, she’s still acknowledged as the Khajiit’s “distant mother” even by those who dislike the ancients’ “slavish devotion” to her and prefer Mara instead. She might also showcase a more motherly role than Magrus in her sponsorship of Khajiit mages, if the name of the group “Daughters of Azurah” is any indication.
Almalexia
If Azura is the Good Daedra that is consistently female in Velothi teachings, Almalexia takes that role in the Temple’s theology in spite (or because) of presenting herself as the heir to Boethiah’s legacy. While Varieties of Faith claims that she showcases the attributes that Akatosh has in other pantheons, I’d argue that she also boasts the aspects of a mother goddess. In fact, that is her main role in the divine triumvirate of the Tribunal. Her titles aren’t subtle in that regard: she is ‘Mother Morrowind’, ‘Healing Mother’, ‘Mother of Mercy’ and ‘Almsivi’s Mother and Lady’, among other epithets, and she is also mentioned several times as “mother Ayem” in the 36 Lessons of Vivec. She is the patron of healers and teachers, the protector of the poor and the weak, and statuettes of her as a pregnant woman are used as fertility fetishes.
Fadomai
For a cosmology based on dichotomy, I’ve always been surprised that the interplay between Anu/Anuiel and Padomay/Sithis is rarely a male-female one. They’re genderless cosmic forces or, more often than not, explicitly male, such as the brothers of the Anuad or Dread Father Sithis. The exception is Fadomai in Elsweyr, who is not only female, but the mother of the gods and the moons. She keeps giving birth to them even after her partner Ahnurr starts complaining about having too many children, which makes her position and conflict very similar to Tiamat’s in Babylonian mythology. And if Mara may be a heir to Nir’s spirit in other cosmologies, Azurah is the heir to Fadomai’s wisdom in Khajiit myth, creating a legacy of mother goddesses.
Others
There are many more entities in Tamriel that could aspire to the title of mother goddess. Dibella under some interpretations. The Herd Mother of the Horse-Folk of Silverhoof. Mafala the Clan Mother. Even the Night Mother of the Dark Brotherhood could fill such a position, not unlike Alessia in certain tales. But I think that the ones I’ve mentioned so far are the most clear examples. Do you know of other figures that could join the list?

Maybe the War on Drugs that some say is still going today? Mount St. Helens erupting? Space Shuttle Challenger disaster? Pope John Paul's assassination attempt? High crime rates? Richard Pryor setting himself on fire while high on cocaine?
Sure, that stuff is pretty heavy, doc. But I would have to tender the suggestion that maybe the 1980's weren't quite bad enough to be called "pretty bleak". For starters, the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. Ronald Reagan, nicknamed "The Great Communicator", lead the country gracefully during this bleak time and his historical ranking amongst all President's is frequently cited in the top 10.
If politics isn't your thing, how about science and technology? That phone, tablet, or computer that you're using, the advancements that really got all that technology going into the hands of more consumers happened in the 80's. MS-DOS, Commodore 64, Adobe Photoshop, Pac-Man, the IBM Personal Computer, Apple Lisa, Microsoft Word, Oregon Trail), and the biggest one of them all, the World Wide Web, are all products of the 80's.
Other innovations of the decade include the invention of the artificial human heart, the CD player, the disposable camera, and the antidepressant Prozac. The existence of black holes and the theory that an asteroid impact caused the extinction of the dinosaurs happened in 1981 and 1983 respectively.
Few decades can even come close to the quality of entertainment the 1980's produced. Breakout the haircare products and listen to Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, and many other hair bands on your Sony Walkman. Michael Jackson was moonwalking everywhere getting his hair caught on firewhile thrillin' us. We grabbed light sabers and traveled to a galaxy far, far away with two installments of Star Wars, released in 1980 and 1983. Indiana Jones whipped us into theaters three...separate...times! We traveled through time with Doc, Marty, and Einstein with Back to the Future parts Iand II.
Video began to kill the radio star because MTV debuted in 1981. Entertainment on the small tube was not in short supply with shows like Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Roseanne, Full House and many others. There was never a better time to be an insomniac with Johnny Carson, Arsenio Hall, and David Letterman to make us laugh.

The are few periods of time that have hit harder, defeated much more heavily favored foes, threw further, or jumped morethan the 1980's. On the world's stage of the 1980's Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, the United States played host to the four-time defending Soviet Union in hockey. United States was a 1000-1 underdog in the medal round. In the end, the United States beat the Soviet Union and the game left us asking "do you believe in miracles?"
If you like your Xbox or PlayStation, you can thank the 1980's and a mustachioed plumber. In 1985, a company that was founded in 1889, called Nintendo, released a rectangular, gray box with some controllers, a plastic gun, and a game called Super Mario Bros. You know how much it sucks to move but when you do, you have a crazy ability to be able to perfectly fit boxes of different shapes and sizes perfectly into any given space? Well, you can thank the second highest selling video game of all-time, Tetris, for giving you those skills.
Nostalgia and a good memory. Powerful agents for the unitiated. But I am imitated. I was born in the 80’s. I was molded by it. I didn’t see the 90’s until I was 7 but by that time I had already seen the coolest fads! I LOVED the Scholastic Book Fair, those pencil, eraser, and notebook dispensers, and wearing my reversible Michael Jordan jersey. I loved that crisp sound made when you put on a slapbracelet. There were three kinds of men back then. GI Joe, He-Man, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I loved tossing a Koosh ball with my friends wearing out Member’s Only jackets. We made no qualms about playing outside until dark playing red light, green light, jumping rope with those ropes that had the small bits of plastic, four-square, and sliding down one of those metal slides while avoiding burns.
Cliches exist for a reason and the 80’s produced a number of cliches such as your cousin or weird uncle wearing a mullet and has a Firebird on cinder blocks. While on the subject of fashion, leg warmers, parachute pants, jelly shoes, tights, leotards, and scrunchies made the ladies look rad. Guys had t-shirts with ripped sleeves, track suits, v-neck sweaters, and tube socks.
We had Jane Fonda, Susan Sommers, and Richard Simmons kept us in shape with aerobics, Thighmaster, and “Sweatin’ to the Oldies.” All that aerobics, step class, and Tae Bo can really work up a sweat so it's a good thing you have a sweatband.

I had nothing to do this New Years Day and I have a fondness for the 80's. I'm sorry for the wall of text. I was going to write more but I've got stuff to do now.

When XSEED released Zwei II last year, i put it on my wishlist, waiting for a big sale since i didn't have much trust in the game thinking it will be just a slower Ys. And being a slow Ys is one of the main reasons why Ys 6 is my least fav. Ys game...
However, after finishing it a few hours ago, i am now calling this game ''Legend of Zwei: Ys in the Sky SC'' because i really enjoyed it (and because of Story reasons)
The Beginning
The game already got my attention after i started it when Adol cough Hothead von Hunter riding an Airplane having a Dogfight against a Mishy riding a Dragon, and i was like ''I love this game already''.
Then he crashes. Typical Adol. Please don't go to Liberl Next, we don't want it to lose it's Air Superiority and then get rekt by Osbro cough.
Anyway, after the crash, he get's rescued by Falcom's token blue haired Lady, Lady Gothblood, who, unlike the usual case back then, isn't a Damsel in Distress, but a Vampire. She saves his Life, in return, he has to help her get her Powers and Phantasmagoria back.
The Adventure (Spoilers!)
So, Adol and Dana Ragna and Alwen start adventuring in the numerous dungeons, when after getting Alwen's first magic back they meet Mr. Machoman who invites em to an Arena??? and i was like this everytime they meet him.
And as is usualy the case with Ys, midway through the Adventure, we head to the token Darm Tower (henceforth called Darm 3.0), where we met a Winged Person, and by this Point, i already started formulating my greater Falcomverse Theory, which i will post in a few weeks

After clearing Darm 3.0, and getting all of Alwen's Magic back, it was time for Alwen to get Phantasmagoria back. The crew who stole the castle welcomes us by destroying us with an imitation of Michael Jackson's Thriller. After that, we go through Castlevania and then meeting Edgy Eldeel, we take the Caslte back... The End!... If only it was that Easy... (or thankfully not, since i was enjoying the game and wanted more xD)
Now finishing the Ys potion of the Adventure, Emohead von Hunter heads to Ymir to enjoy some time in the hotsprings only to find himself suddenly in the middle of Cold Steel 2 Prologue. After clearing everything and getting his head straight, the Pair heads to The Garden of Recluse, and After that it was it was time to head to Liber Ark to finish the Legends of Zwei: Ys in the Sky SC.
Combat, Gameplay and Extra stuff
It's Ys. And while you have 2 Characters here, they act as One character gameplay wise, as they share HP pool & Stats. You have the 'normal Attack' Button for Ragna and a Magic Button for Alwen, with a button to switch between different Weapons. Speed is also fine, it's bit slower then usual Ys, sure, but it isn't Ys6 levels slow, not to mention the combat is alot more polished here, and later on you get an item that speeds up your movement speed (which we should've gotten earlier imo, while increasing the gameplay's speed)
Lvling up here works by eating food, which also heals you. However, you can save your food to trade it in for a higher Tier food, which gaves much more EXP. So, the better you play, the more exp you can get. While at the beginning i didn't like the system much, by mid game i liked it as it allowed me to go to dungeons/fights underlvld, increasing the challenge...
Which brings me to the next Point: I wish the game had a hard mode. The game was a bit on the easy side. Even if some boss battles were really though, you find a Weak point and it gets alot easier. Example: Dragon Boss a top Darm 3.0. I had alot of trouble against that guy, until i discovered i could ride him. However, the boss fights were fun nonetheless, and there are a couple of fights that were really really tough (Michael Jackson Thriller Boss, Penguin (what's with Falcom and Penguins?) for example), especially Early game before you get more of Alwen's OP magic. However, i confess, i couldn't Platinum anything in this game (except for the Extra dungeons, as they have different rankings criteria), which might be the real challenge, i guess? I mean, to get Platinum, you have to defeat boss/clear dungeon within a Time limit without getting any damage ... Is that even possible? I even Game Over'd in a couple Dungeons (especially in Caslte Moonbria). The Final boss was also pretty crazy (and i got super lucky against her xD)
Also, this game has alot of Extra stuff to do :3. While you could clear the 'main Story' pretty fast, there is the Arena, the 4 Extra dungeons (with awesome rewards) and harder versions of the dungeons you already visited. However, i wish they didn't unlock most of them so close to late game, still there's alot of extra stuff to do. You even have some ice skating ala CS2 to do
However my favourite 'extra' has to be the Zpod. Imagine my surprise when i got that thing and suddenly 'Boy's got Wings' plays. And then collecting the other Tracks (Sara's Caslte, Beyond the beginning, Hollow Light of the Sealed Land are just some of the track you unlock (11 in Total)). I just wish the Trails music collection was stronger (like, we get Sara's Castle and Beyond the beginning from Ys, but no Silver Will or Phantasmagoria from Sky? Falcom pls.)
World & Characters
First things first, Pipiro is fucking savage. I might play the first Zwei just because of her xD

Anyway, the World is really interesting, a flying World which is the remains after a war a few hundred years ago, with groups trying to revive the demon King (atleast according to Pipiro they also had to fight a revived Demon King), multipe races, ninjas straight out of Naruto, and remains/treasuers which resemble the real world Ys. Even a certain legendary red head is mentioned.
I really enjoyed the Characers, from hothead Ragna, the booksmart, arrogant but oblivious Alwen, the cute ninja student Subaru, the Shipper NPC to the Fairy shopkeepers you keep meeting. I enjoyed watching the Characters grow & interact, and while it wasn't Trails levels by any means, it was satisfying for the story the built. The Character interaction was A+, and it really made me wish Trails returns to Dual Protag again. Subaru/Alwen interaction was really enjoyable. And the NPCs and Side Characters were also really strong, especially major Side Characters like Zwei AA MCs, Subaru and Odessa. The Character interaction of the MCs and the side Characters really gave me Trails in Sky vibes sometimes, and the end reminded me of Sky the 3rd.
Speaking about the shipper NPC, Who do you ship together?
If i have to say something that annoyed me however, it was Thermidor's Actions at the end. It came out of nowhere and felt more rushed then (Sky SC) Löwe's Actions at the end of SC. They should've atleast thrown some hints through the game, like showing him caring for Mia even though she's ''just a weapon''. Or something like that. I felt that moment was really weak.
Other then that, playing through the game made me think that Falcom planned 6 games for this Series (due to 6 Demon Lords and all), but it seems this series wasn't really succesful :/, and from what i know, Tokyo Xanadu took it's place (Japan pls). I wish we could see more Zwei games in the future
And thus my Adventure in Ilvard ended, with me being so close, but so far to the 100% ;_; I really enjoyed my time with the game, and i am really sad how unknown the game seems to be, for it's a legit great game, and a game every Falcom fan should play/should've played.
The game is a Celebration of everything 2000s Falcom.

With the upcoming Summerset DLC now in sight and all these threads about where the elven gods are and the link between Zenithar and Trinimac, I've been wondering if we'll finally see a comprehensive equivalence between the Altmeri pantheon and the Imperial-named planets. After all, we know of the Imperial orreries with the planets named after the Divines, but also of famous elven orreries, and that Altmer worship (or worshipped) the Aedric planets.
Some equivalents are easy to see. Auri-El as Akatosh, Mara as Mara, Stendarr as Stendarr. Others, though, seem more difficult.
Before ESO, I would have said Trinimac as Arkay, for Arkay's Nord version (Orkey) is painted as a deity of elven origin, a sworn enemy of ShoLorkhan and his people and also a patron of Orcs. But now it seems that the equivalent will be Xarxes. Baffling at first, until I remembered even older lore of Arkay which paints him as a mortal obsessed with scholarship and a Big Book of Everything who later ascended and became a god, all attributes of Xarxes.
But what about the rest? Would a planet Trinimac take the position of planet Zenithar? Syrabane for Julianos? And Magnus makes the eighth main god of the Altmeri pantheon, but he's the sun, so who's the eighth planet? Phynaster?

So Question Number 1:
I've planned the build in babies first CAD (TinkerCAD) Pic , Which won't be as cramped in the picture as I've added extra for clearances etc, the yellow is the Rads and the Res.
For easy maintenance I will have a Drain Valve at the bottom of the outlet of the Pump/Res, I'll be able to fill via the top of the Res as that will be easily accessible, filling, priming etc will achieved by turning the case on it's back.
Does all this look OK, any problems with any of the parts? The planned loop route is Res > Top Rad > CPU > Front Rad > Res, when I add a GPU it would be Res > Top Rad > GPU > CPU > Front Rad > Res...
Now I'm not too worried about the build itself, more the preparation so Question 2:
Cleaning / Flushing etc what's best practice, will I need to take the Waterblock apart and clean or is it ok to just flush it as it's new?
Flush the whole loop in one go, or clean out the radiators first then flush it all?
What's best to use, Distilled water? Any additives for this cleaning?
Question 3:
What's best for coolant (I'll be using clear with no dyes), I've heard many things, I'll be using Nickel Plated blocks from EK, read good things about Mayhems X1 but any insight would be good.
Any further insight is welcome.

Intel DZ77GA-70K Board works but did have some issues. When I got the board only 2 of the memory slots worked and would not allow me to run dual channel. The board has 2 bent pins. I was able to get the one pin bent back, which allowed the memory to run in dual channel mode and all slots to work properly. I had no other issues with the board. I don't know if there is anything else wrong with it or not. I would like to get 40 USD

This is my current build I have been using since 2008 as a freelance graphic designer and finishing college with an BS in architecture. To be honest, I'm amazed I have been using this same setup for so long on the Intel G965 Express Chipset. I check it monthly for blown caps, dust it out seasonally, and it still run like a champ with Windows 7 Premium. After extensive research to try to match a reasonable dedicated GPU to the old setup. I decided and installed the Zotac GT 710 2GB DDR3 (Yes, it get crap from others) but it was several fold improvement over the old Intel chipset. OpenGL now works, lines in Autocad are smoother and brighter (I was happy to be able to highlight multiple lines), SketchUp runs smoother too, and Yandere Simulator (make of that what you will) runs from a dreadful 7 FPS to a playable 27-30 FPS on low with some graphic hiccups. I haven't tested out my Adobe set yet.
Originally, the plan for the card was to take some of the graphic processing and memory off that system RAM and I was pretty happy with it. But now I see a PNY GeForce GT 730 1GB GDDR5 on sell and debating on swapping for that for $20 more. (I hate to return used items but Mircocenter said it fine. More a moral thing.) Benchmarks and reviews show some go gains. But my question would there be a noticeable performance gain swapping a GT 710 for a GT 730 with GDDR5 or am I limited (bottleneck?) by my outdated Core 2 Duo CPU? Numbers are one thing but will I really see a different between 14.4 GB vs 40 GB memory bandwidth? I'm also avoiding GPU that maybe too demanding on the CPU. (Out of budget but I know chucking in something like a GeForce GTX 970 is pointless since my PSU and CPU will never be able to feed it.) I just want to have a balanced system without overclocking for the time being.

I have an old PC that is primarily used by my father for browsing and browsing only and like most old computers it sucks (freezes, lags etc). Right now the complete build looks like this:

Right now RAM usage is at 70-75% at idle running windows 7.
I can find 2x2GB dimms of used DDR2 ram for 25€ and a used Intel E6600 for 10-15€.
Is it worth it? Will this be lag free for internet browsing using chrome, mainly on Facebook?

The system is rock-solid and quiet, even in full load. After debating for the past 4 weeks about getting a 970 or R9 290 (and you have been very helpful) I am planning on getting the R9 290 Tri-X P/N 11227-00-40-G and a 512gb Samsung SSD drive and remove all spinning drives, and 3-4 noctua fans based on temps i will get after installing the new gpu.

1. I plan to buy a second card in a few months, will the motherboard support it or should i upgrade that too along with the second gpu.
2. Will the PSU hold up with one video card? I plan on getting a bigger modular one along with the second card.
3. Is the CPU powerfull enough to keep up with the video card for newer games? (1080p resolution)
   
4. If you can think of anything else worth mentioning please do! I'd rather play with lower settings and have a cooler graphics card than have the most powerfull one and worry about heat..

Hey there guys I am looking at building a media pc and I wanted some advice on the parts I have chosen. I think the total cost for me will be around $650 NZD (550 USD) with postage. I want to play Full HD video and some emulation.
