My 5th great-grandfather George Champ of Antebellum Virginia is a brick wall to me, however I recently found some new records that might prove his parentage and was hoping for some input. First, what I know for sure is that he had a son Elkanah, and was married to Jane Eakin, daughter of Thomas Eakin (another brick wall) in 1798 in Montgomery County.
In the 1790 Montgomery County Personal Property Tax Lists, we find a John Champ with two men over 21 in his household, Christopher and George Champ. This same John was previously found with Christopher in the 1787 version of this tax list. Possibly Christopher and George were brothers and sons of John? In the 1800 and 1801 Tax Lists, we find Christopher and George living adjacent.
In 1815 I find this record: " Image 568-569 of 860. DGS 007894524, Deed Book A, p. 432, 433. 24 Jan. 1815. The Heirs of John Champ; Wm. Champ and wife, , Ann, of Green Ohio, James Sheppard and wife late Fanny Champ, Ross, Ohio, Terrance Popejoy, and wife, late Elizabeth Ann Champ of Fayette Ohio, George Champ and his wife, Jane, of Botetourt, Virginia, sell John Champ's 176 acres in Giles that he bought from Dave W. Mullens of Botetourt to Christopher Champ of Giles County for $500." Would this imply that all of these individuals are siblings and children of John Champ? I'm pretty sure that George and Jane (Eakin) Champ had moved to Botetourt County where they'd had Elkanah, but I'm not 100 percent sure.
A similar record from 1814: " Three of the heirs of John Champ appoint their "friend" Christopher Champ as their representative to dispose of their property in Giles Co and Hampshire Co. due them from their share of John Champ's estate. They are: William Champ and wife, Elizabeth of Green, Ohio Terrance Popejoy and wife, Ann (Champ) of Fayette, Ohio James Sheppard and wife, Fanny (Champ) of Ross, Ohio"
Various probate records seem to show George Champ died in 1828, although I am not 100 percent sure.
What do you guys think? Am I missing something? Where should I go for further research? Thanks for any help!

This one is a prequel to the Mutant Cyborg Witch one, but that's more of an easter egg than anything. This just shows how that dystopia got started. As always I dig feedback! I think this one is too dark.

In a world not unlike rural America during the great depression the town grocer has gone bankrupt. This has made them unable to pay back the witch that made their prosperity possible. Now the bill has come due.
Grocer knocks
Come in!
The witch is a glamorous flapper girl type. She's sitting alone in a conspicuously empty office. Drinking tea.
Good to see you again Mr. Grocer. Would you care for tea?
Listener refuses and she’s a little hurt
No? Very well.
I’d ask you what brings you here but I already know.
I was saddened to hear about your general store. Are you and your daughter holding up ok?
I warned you last year that this was going to happen. The landlords were not going to tolerate the unionization of the tenant farmers. Between the drought, the price of beef, and the agitation. They were going to break the leases and just use the land to graze cattle. The tenant farmer system is on its way out to begin with. And there goes the town, and there goes your customers and there goes your store. I guess if nothing else all these people get a clean break. Still though it's hard to watch them pile into their cars and go out west, nothing to their names, nothing to show for their lives in this town. They’re just castaways now.
I warned you, but you wouldn't listen. You had something to prove I guess. Daddy issues maybe?
It doesn't matter I guess
So do you have my money?
Grocer places some cash on the table and she counts it.
Six hundred seventy three dollars.
You’re short by about three hundred. I shouldn't need to remind you that you agreed to pay me one thousand and one in exchange for my assistance this year. Just as you have for the last decade.
That's all you have?
sigh
Then I guess I’ll have to collect the collateral.
Grocer beseeches them to let them go
Oh stop your pleading, you signed the contract.
You’re asking me to take this and let you go? This is only sixty Seven Percent of what you owe me Mr Grocer.
Oh sorry Sixty Seven Point Three. You know what, let's round up and call it seventy. You’re still short.
She stands
Explain to me why I should accept less than what was agreed upon. Were my services unsatisfactory?
Our agreement. In exchange for one thousand and one dollars I would use my magic to give you a year and a day of prosperity. We signed it in the moonlight on the crossroads out where old highway sixty one meets dockery road.
We renewed it every year, you know the ins and out of it. You pay me or I take the collateral. Did you think I wasn't serious?
I don't understand why you can't seem to wrap your head around this! I want what I’m owed. I’m going to have to leave town too, you know. I’m going to have to go to the big city.
And besides I’ve seen how you treat the people that are in your debt.
You hound and squeeze them. You insist that they honor your agreements to the letter. And you were perfectly happy to take advantage of the fact that you were the only place in town they could buy anything. The friendly neighborhood grocer, always willing to extend a loan if they couldn't cover it all in one go.
I bet before you came here you went around to all these people that had just lost their livelihoods to collect every cent they owed you! Hoping and Praying that it would be enough! You were out there squeezing people that had just lost everything.
And when you come up short, you ask me for something you never gave anybody else. You ask me to accept less than what I’m owed, when you yourself never would.
I didn't cast a spell to give you only seventy percent of a year's prosperity. I delivered the full measure.
And you would deny me
When that cholera outbreak happened I didn't put only seventy percent of a purification rune on your well. I gave you the full measure. You made a mint selling that clean water.
And you would deny me.
When that gang of robbers held up your store I didn't return seventy percent of what they stole from you. I returned to you the full measure. There's five graves out there just across the county line, the graves of men that died screaming because you paid me to make sure nobody ever stole from you.
And you. would. deny me.
When your daughter took ill. I didn't only heal seventy percent of her. I gave you the full measure. There were a dozen sick children quarantined in that schoolhouse. She was the only one who made it out. Did you think that a coincidence? Twelve for one, that was the price of that magic. It's tragic, but I had a deal to uphold.
And you would deny me!
Oh you didn't know about that? All you people that come to me are the same. So unprepared for the consequences. You act as if my magic is some unholy dark force-which it is, but you act like just because you didn't cast the spell your hands are clean. You played with something you shouldn't have, and now you must pay the price. I have no sympathy for you.
Keep the money. I will collect the collateral.
Where is your daughter?
The grocer starts begging
Get off your knees, I won't be swayed by begging.
The grocer offers themselves up instead
Why would I take you instead? This was the contract. I’m disgusted by the fact that you’d put your own flesh and blood up for collateral like that, but I am not paid to judge morality. Its too late to come to your senses.

I’ll tell you what. I like you. You’re probably the closest thing I have to a friend in this town. You were my first client, and until today my best. That counts for something with me.
They whip out a deck of cards and shuffle it
Lets play a hand. If you win, you get the collateral back.

She casts a spell freezing the listener in place
You know I held you in high esteem, but this is pathetic. I never would have thought when I made this deal with you that when push came to shove you were just a slimy worm, trying to writhe your way out of your responsibilities.
Perhaps I’ll make you into one for real? I have that right now. You belong to me. I think that's sunk in by now hasn't it?
She pins them against the wall. She's angry.
One word. One word and I can end you. Wipe away your ugly little life. And there's a voice in my head screaming at me. Telling me to do it. To do one good deed, wipe out a sketchy loan shark that risked his own child's life for his pride! but we both know I don't have the right.
For all my lecturing and moralizing I’m just as bad as you are, and there's far worse out there than either of us. You’ll be spared for now

If it eases your mind any I’m not going to do anything to your daughter. Frankly I just believe she deserves a parental figure that wouldn't ever put her life at risk for their own gain, and I’ll be happy to fill that role.
We leave tonight. For the big city. Out there there's a man like you in every office, in every precinct, in every church, in every debating hall, from the hill to the gutter. Desperate men willing to make deals with a creature like me.

Context: I’m a part time grocery clerk who plans to make a career with Publix. My wife and I may or may not move back to southwest Florida in the next year or so (she hails from Charlotte county). Are Charlotte, Sarasota, and Lee County harder districts to get promoted in or is it comparable to most?

I was born and raised in Fort Myers, specifically Lee county. I am now in St. Pete and looking to move due to personal reasons. What is the renting situation like? I’ve looked around and prices seem comparable to my current city. I’m torn between PC and Venice area. Just tough finding a good spot for the right price. I will commute to St Pete for work. As I’m in a 3 yr contract with the City. I appreciate any insight and advice.

Librarians from across the United States released a report showing that pro-censorship groups' efforts to ban books with LGBTQ+ themes and stories about people of color have driven an unprecedented rise in the number of book challenges, with right-wing organizers pushing library workers to remove works ranging from the dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale to children's books about foods enjoyed in different cultures.
"Each attempt to ban a book by one of these groups represents a direct attack on every person's constitutionally protected right to freely choose what books to read and what ideas to explore," said Deborah Caldwell-Stone, director of the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom.
Previously, the vast majority of book challenges were focused on a single book to which a parent or group of parents objected.
"A book challenge is a demand to remove a book from a library's collection so that no one else can read it. Overwhelmingly, we're seeing these challenges come from organized censorship groups that target local library board meetings to demand removal of a long list of books they share on social media," said Caldwell-Stone.
In Florida, where Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has led a nationwide effort by conservatives to keep public school students from learning accurate American history and discussing issues regarding the LGBTQ+ community, one county removed from school library shelves 176 books which have been held in storage since January 2022.
The ALA report comes four months after voters in at least two U.S. towns voted to cut or eliminate funding for their public libraries in the wake of campaigns to ban books with LGBTQ+ themes.

A specter of his former self, the Substance snared his soul,
And James Barris, mastermind, malevolent and sly, begat,
Deception's web, the watcher's wiles, to challenge and cajole.
In this haunted house, the heroes, helpless, held by dire fate,
Struggled against the shadows, that sinisterly didst slither,
The Scanner's gaze, so keen and true, observed each cruel state,
Fred, the watcher, willed to warn, yet wavered, dithered, wither.
For in that lair, a love did linger, unspoken, yet so dear,
Donna Hathaway, the dealer, her heart held Fred's desire,
A beacon, bright amidst the blight, her hope, a guiding sphere,
To lead him through the darkness, and from the drug's quagmire.
Bound by duty, torn by love, Fred's heart didst fiercely ache,
The shadows' secrets, to unveil, the lost souls to release,
In this tale of twisted fates, what path shall our hero take?
To free the fallen, fight the fiend, and find his own heart's peace.

For the heck of it, I went on Orange County, NY Clerk of Court website and tried to search for Anthony Morris. I can't figure out how to search for him. I am an attorney in Florida and if you've ever gotten so much as a speeding ticket in Florida I know how to find everything about it online.... but New York is a different state. People on this page have been speculating about him getting a DUI, etc. and it should be pretty easy to research this.

I am from Changchun, China, and I am 74 years old. My husband passed away a few years ago. My daughter and I are interdependent. She suffered from schizophrenia for 23 years.
Today I brought my daughter to Hong Kong to attend the Dharma Convention sponsored by Master Lu. I would like to ask you all to bear witness to this: after I practised Citta Dharma Door taught by Master Lu and recited the Little House, my daughter, who had schizophrenia for 23 years, was completely cured. It was the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva and the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Master Lu who saved my whole family and my daughter. I sincerely appreciate the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva and the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Master Jun Hong Lu for saving my family and my daughter.
My daughter’s name is Jing Ma. While on her way home from school in 1988, two months before she graduated from middle school, she was robbed of her school bag. When she got home, she cried and screamed. She held her head and said, "My head was ripped off". She had such a headache that she hit the wall. After graduating from middle school, she could not take the entrance test to high school. She stayed at home and was distracted all day, running away in the middle of the night, into the dark woods. The police patrol found her and sent her back.
Her condition got worse day by day. When she faced the window during the day, her hands were always stroking and her mouth was muttering something. She threw things around the house, smashed them when she wanted to, and stayed up all night. I took her to see a doctor at the First Hospital of Jilin University. The diagnosis was schizophrenia, which was also called hysteria. So I started to see witch doctors, Chinese doctors and Western doctors, and treated her for some time, but nothing worked.
We were advised to go to a temple and take refuge in Buddhism. In 1992, we took refuge in Triple Gem of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha at the temple in Changchun. We worshiped Buddha, chanted Buddha, and prayed to Buddha and Bodhisattvas for blessings. On the first and fifteenth days of every lunar month, I took her to the temple to attend the Dharma Convention, to write repenting words to ascend spirits of the dead, to set up memorial tablets and to make offerings to the spirits.
In June 2002, my husband became seriously ill. I had to take care of both my husband and Jing Ma at the same time. A Buddhist friend found that it was too difficult for me to manage alone, and introduced us to a hospice in Huinan County, where Jing's father died in October 2002. The laypersons (A layperson is someone who believes in Buddhism, upholds the five precepts, and practices the ten good deeds and who has not left the home-life.) and and leaders there took great care of us. They helped me to look after Jing. To prevent her from running away, they tied her hands and feet with ropes. Everyone took shifts to watch her during the day and night. I lived there for six years. I didn't dare to go home because I couldn't take care of her alone, and I didn't dare to leave her alone.
Prior to the Spring Festival of 2007, I wanted to take her to Changchun to celebrate the New Year at home. We arrived home on the 26th of the lunar month, and she started smashing things on the 27th. I thought it was impossible to stay at home. On the 28th day of the lunar month, I took her to the Guangshan Hospice in Changchun to spend the New Year time. After the New Year, a Buddhist group from Harbin came to Guangshen Hospice and held a Dharma Convention. I and everyone else were busy writing repenting words. While we were not paying attention, Jing Ma went away again. Near the automobile factory, Jing was recognized by General Manager Ning's sister of Guangshan Hospice. She took a taxi to send Jing back. Otherwise, Jing would have been lost.
On March 28, 2008, at 3:30 p.m., Jing ran away again from the Jile Hospice in Chaoyang Town, Huinan County. In the fifth day after she went missing, she was found at more than 50 kilometers from the Jile Hospice.
In July 2008, despite my advice, Jing wanted to go home. She threatened not to eat and to go on a hunger strike. She said: “after we get home, you find me a medical treatment.” In August 30, we returned home at Changchun.
On the first day of the sixth lunar month in 2010, I took her to attend the Transcending Convention at the Yangs’ place of enlightenment to take a refuge in the Triple Gem for spirits. When the Convention was over, a layperson of Jilin asked the abbot, "Do you still have some Little Houses here?" The abbot replied, "Let me take a look. "Then, the abbot found two Little Houses. That's how I saw the Little Houses for the first time.
After leaving the place of enlightenment, I went to Peace World to engrave a CD, and I saw a lady (Translator’s note: This lady is probably Dharma practitioner Ms. He. To facilitate expression, I will use “He” to stand for this lady) engraving one there as well. Ms. He was so pretty, I thought she must have offered flowers to the Buddha in her previous life. She happened to be talking about the Little House, so I asked her what the "Little House" was. She said, "Your daughter seems to have a typical spiritual disease." At the time, I didn't understand what she meant by spiritual disease and asked her for clarification. She answered, "A ghost occupied one’s body!" She continued, "The only way to cure your daughter's illness is to recite the 'Little House'." Upon hearing her say it so confidently, I asked, "Can I recite the Little House?" She said, "If you want to recite and want your daughter to get well, I can't tell you in one or two sentences here. I give you my phone number. If you come to me, your daughter will be really saved."
As soon as I parted with Ms. He, Jing played with me on the road. I had a hard time getting her home. After I got home, I was thinking: Despite not knowing Ms. He before, what she said was so sure I must try. The next day I went to Ms. He's house. She gave me a detailed introduction to the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door taught by Master Lu and instructed me how to recite the Little House. I respectfully took the book, CD, and blank Little House home.
The second day after I got home, I filled in the headings of 108 Little Houses and began to recite the "Little House" for the karmic creditor of Jing. I recited for half a month, but the effect on my daughter was not obvious because she was still throwing tantrums and smashing things. I called Ms. He. She told me, "You have to pray Guan Yin Bodhisattva to recall the soul of Jing Ma, and pray Bodhisattva to communicate with the spirit in Jing’s body to persuade it to leave Jing's body and go to a good place." I did as Ms. He said. There was an immediate effect on Jing, and it was becoming increasingly evident as time progressed.
There is one thing I must confess. A few days before I met Ms. He, I took Jing to the home of a layperson who is a surgical doctor. At that time, the spirit in Jing's body came down and attached itself to that layperson’s body and said, "I am Xiaocui Ma, Jing Ma's aunt, and I died early (I heard from my family that Xiaocui Ma died very young.)." By that time, I had no idea this message was important, so I didn't tell Ms. He. Later, after Ms. He learned the name of the spirit, she told me to fill out 21 Little Houses immediately, titled: "To Jing Ma’s Aunt Xiaocui Ma." Ms. He said, "In order to achieve a desired result, it's best to pay off the debt using spirit's name." As expected, burning the Little Houses this time has had a particularly noticeable effect on Jing Ma.
Previously, Jing took three pills, now reduced one. Moreover, she does no need to take medicine during the day, just take two capsules at night before going to bed. Every day, Jing sings joyfully, and her mood is much better. I do my morning recitation without stopping every day: Great Compassion Mantra 7 times, Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance Text 7 times, Heart Sutra 7 times, Cundi Dharani 21 times, Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots 21 times, and Amitabha Pure Land Rebirth Mantra 21 times. After that, I proceeded to recite for my daughter the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance Text 7 times, Heart Sutra 7 times, Great Compassion Mantra 7 times, and Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots 21 times. After breakfast, I began to recite the Little Houses.
Since June 2010, I have recited a total of 433 Little Houses to Jing’s creditor. The Little Houses made the child happy, and she did not lose her temper any more. She knew to hold my hand on the street, afraid that I fell down, and helped me to carry things. She could spend money to buy things now. She knew to serve me food and gave up her seat to me. This is something that has never been done in the past 23 years. My confidence in reciting Little House increased as my child improved day by day. The Little House is so effective, and Master Lu's teachings, the Citta Dharma Door, are invaluable. Until my heart stops and I can no longer recite, I will keep reciting.
As a result, I have been able to stay home and live a normal life after 23 years of torture. It is the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva who saved my daughter! It is the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Master Lu who saved my family. In 2011, I will continue to release beings. I made a vow to take Jing to return the Ji Le Hospice in Chaoyang Township, Huinan County when the time is right. As they know the past of Jing's, I will show them the present of Jing's. Since there are more than ten mental patients there, I will introduce them to Master Lu's Citta Dharma Door to save those children, so that they can get rid of suffering and gain happiness soon. Wherever I go, I will bring the teachings of Master Lu to save more sentient beings.
Over the last 20 years, the 2011 Spring Festival has been the happiest year of my life. On New Year's Eve, my daughter-in-law picked us up to go to my son's house for a reunion. My daughter was also very happy. She said, “The house is neatly cleaned, nothing is missing. Look at how well my sister-in-law lives.” When I saw that my daughter was like a normal person, the stone that had been hanging in my heart for 23 years finally fell to the ground and my heart was finally at peace. Now I don't go anywhere. I stay at home practicing the Dharma of Master Lu, reciting the scriptures and the Little House.
The above is my personal experience: A person who suffered from mental illness for 23 years has been cured. This is my experience of studying Master Lu's teachings and reciting the Little House, which I would like to share with you. I hope my presentation will encourage parents to take confident steps to save their mentally ill children. Have faith, don't give up, don't fret, don't be confused, and don't feel helpless, because we have a life-saving Master Lu! Master Jun Hong Lu and Guan Yin Bodhisattva can save us no matter what happens if we follow Master Lu and practice well.

我的女儿叫马晶，在1988年中学还有两个月就毕业了的一天，在下学回家的路上被劫道抢书包受了惊吓，回家是又哭又闹，捧着脑袋说：“脑袋叫人给揪去了” 头痛得撞墙。中学毕业了没能去考高中。呆在家里，整天是魂不守舍，三更半夜往外跑，跑到伸手不见五指的树林里，警察巡逻发现把她送回来。病情一天比一天严重。白天面对窗户，手总是在笔划，不知嘴里嘟嘟囔囔的在说些什么。家里的东西说扔就扔，说砸就砸，晚上整夜不睡觉。我领着她到我们长春的医大一院去看病，诊断结果是精神分裂症；又说是癔病。于是我开始找神医，找中医，找西医，治疗了一段时间，却什么效果都没有。
有人劝我们上庙去皈依佛门。1992年在我们长春的寺庙作三皈依。拜佛、念佛、祈求佛菩萨保佑。每到初一，十五我就领她去庙里，参加法会，写疏超度，立牌位，供奉亡灵。
在2002年6月，我老伴病重，我又照顾他，又照顾马晶，有个佛友看我一个人实在太难了，管不过来，介绍我们去了辉南县有个安养院。2002年10月马晶她爸去世。那里的居士、领导对我们母女很关心和照顾，帮助我看护我的女儿，怕她往外跑，拿绳子把她手和脚绑上，黑天白天轮班看护。我一住就是六个年头，我不敢回家，我一个人照顾不了她，一步都不赶撒手。在2007年春节，我想领着女儿回长春家里过个年吧。腊月二十六到家，二十七就开砸。我看这年在家是过不了，腊月二十八我领她去长春广善安养院过的年。年后，一个哈尔滨主办团队来到广善安养院做中峯三时系念大法会，我和大家都忙着写疏，一撒手，她又出走了，她走到汽车厂附近那地方，被广善安养院宁总的妹妹认了出来了；就打车把她送回来了，不然就走丢了。
在2008年3月28日那天下午3点半钟，在辉南县朝阳镇极乐安养院一撒手她又出走了，走出一百多里地后的第五天才找到。
在2008年7月马晶说啥也要回家，不吃饭菜，绝食。说：回家你给我看病，8月30日我们回到长春家里。
在2010年农历六月初一那天，我领孩子去杨家道场给灵性作三皈依超度法会。法会结束后一位吉林的居士问道场住持，你这还有没有小房子？住持说：我给你找找看，于是找了两张小房子，我就这样第一次看到了小房子。我从道场走出来去和平大世界刻光碟，看见一位女士也在那刻光碟。我心想这位女士长得这么漂亮，一定是前生在佛前供了花，她恰好在讲小房子的事，我就问她念“小房子”是怎么回事？这位女士说：“我看你女儿身上是典型的灵性病，”当时我不懂，问她啥叫灵性病，她说：“就是鬼附身呐！”她说，“只有念‘小房子’是唯一能治好你女儿病的办法。”我听她说得这么肯定，就说：“小房子我能念啊。”她说：“如果你想念、想让你女儿病好，我一句两句说不清，我给你一个电话，你要是来找我，你女儿是真的有救了，”和那个人一分手，马晶在路上就和我耍了起来，好不容易才把她弄回家。回家后我在想，这个人我不认不识，她说得这么肯定我一定要试试。第二天我去了那位居士家，她详细地给我介绍了卢台长的法门，并告诉我小房子怎么念，我走时拿了书、光碟、小房子。第二天我就填上了108张小房子，开始给马晶的要经者念“小房子”。念了半个月效果不太明显，马晶还是发脾气、砸东西，我给那个居士打电话，她告诉我“要给马晶叫魂，让我求菩萨和马晶身上的灵性沟通劝她离开马晶的身体去个好地方。”我按她说的去做，马上效果就不一样了，一天一个变化。在没认识那个居士的前几天，我领着马晶去了一个看外科病的居士家，当时马晶身上的灵性下来附在那个人身上，“她说她是马晶早亡的姑姑马小翠，”（听家里人说马小翠是很小死的）我当时不懂，也没和那个居士说，后来她知道了，告诉我马上填21张小房子，“敬赠马晶姑姑马小翠。”她说：“写上灵性名字一对一的还债效果更好。”这次我在烧完小房子后马晶的效果特别明显。吃三粒药减掉一粒，白天不用吃药了，晚上睡前吃两粒。人也高兴了，心情也好多了，每天还唱呵呵的。我每天早课不间断，大悲咒七遍，礼佛大忏悔文七遍，心经七遍，准提神咒二十一遍，解结咒二十一遍，往生净土神咒二十一遍，这是我每天的功课；之后我接着给女儿念礼佛大忏悔文七遍，心经七遍，大悲咒七遍，解结咒二十一遍，饭后时间念小房子。
从2010年6月份至今，我给马晶一共念了433张小房子，小房子念得孩子开心了，也不发脾气了，上街知道拉着我手，怕我摔倒了，还能帮我拿东西。会花钱、会买东西了，知道给我盛饭、给我让座，这是23年里从来没有过的，我看着孩子一天天的好起来，就使我更增加了念小房子的信心。小房子真灵验，卢台长的法门太好了，我要不停地念下去，念到我的心跳停止不能念了为止。从此，我结束了23年有家不能回的日子，过上了正常人的生活。是大慈大悲救苦救难的观世音菩萨救了我的女儿，是大慈大悲的卢军宏台长救了我们全家。2011年我会继续放生，并许愿在合适的时候回到辉南县朝阳镇极乐安养院，因为他们了解过去的马晶，我再让他们看看现在的马晶，我把台长的法门介绍给他们，去救度那里的患儿（那里有十多个精神病患者），使他们早日离苦得乐，早日康复。我走到哪里，就会把卢台长的法门带到哪里，去救度更多的有缘众生。
2011年的春节是我二十多年来过得最快乐的一年。大年三十儿媳来接我们去儿子家过个团圆年，我女儿也很高兴，她说，看我嫂子多会过日子，家里收拾得多好，什么都不缺，看到女儿和正常人一样，在我心里悬挂着23年的这块大石头终于落地了，我的心里终于踏实了。我现在哪也不去了，在家修卢台长的法门，念经，念小房子。以上就是我的亲身经历，一个得了23年的精神病患者好了，这就是我学习卢台长的法门，念小房子的经过，说出来给大家分享，希望能够唤起有精神病患者家长对孩子救度的信心。坚定信心、不要放弃、不要发愁、不要困惑、也不要无奈，因为我们有个救命的卢台长啊！你只要跟着卢台长好好修行，无论什么事情观世音菩萨、卢军宏台长都能救我们。
我感恩大慈大悲救苦救难的观世音菩萨，感恩大慈大悲的卢军宏台长，也感恩把我领进这个法门的贺居士。同时也感恩那些二十多年来给我帮助的同修及好心人。

Hi! I've never posted here, so apologies for any mistakes/misunderstanding.
I recently bought a home in Volusia County Florida.
The home is on a corner lot. The back of our property faces a "conservation" area.
One of the main deciding factors in buying the place was that we could install a fence, because there's an HOA, local ordinances and whatnot. We asked the first time we saw it, we clarified several times during the buying process, confirmed what approved materials/heights/colors were, and discussed it again with the closing agent when we were shown the property map. No one expressed any doubt.
All that said- we've been getting some mixed responses from contractors and HOA. We haven't gotten as far as speaking with city or county folks yet.
Basically, we've talked to 2 different contractors for fence installation:

1. One took measurements and confirmed materials, said we were good to go. Later when we called for an update, ended up saying that because of easements/being on a corner, we could only have a 3-foot fence or not at all- we got a mix of information.
2. The other took new measurements because the first one measured incorrectly. Otherwise good to go again and we got the documents that need to be approved by our HOA.

The HOA now says that fence approvals are "on hold" for one reason or another but ultimately sounds like they aren't sure fences in our development are actually allowed by the county.
From what I can find in county and city laws, our fence height, material and location don't present any issues but I'm not an official obviously. There's some sight-line stipulations for corner lots, but our fence plans don't interfere, neither do the materials.
My biggest thing though is that if we could not have a fence, we probably wouldn't have bought here. It might sound silly, but there were other comparable properties that would have allowed a fence and we would have opted for them. We were assured by multiple parties in the process that this wouldn't be an issue... As of now, we're kind of just waiting to see if HOA will get the answers they need to approve.
Basically, I'm wondering what, if anything, I should do if we get word from the HOA that we can't have a fence?
