2023.03.24 06:42 Reika_Fujishima [AETHER][MIDGARDSORMR][FC][LFM] JOIN AZURE INFINITUM! A Growing, Global, Inclusive, Active, Organized, and Friendly Community Awaits You! Welcoming Players Of All Experience, Availability, & Play-Style!

We are Azure Infinitum
Visit us at: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/)
You may have seen us in the Aether data center's party finder during our weekly events, or may have seen our recruitment shouts around the realm in-game in Midgardsormr, but there just isn't enough space in those places to really explain everything wonderful about what our Free Company and community is.
Azure Infinitum is an LGBTQ+ friendly community, and welcomes players of all experience level, play style, and availability. We're a warm home with a balance of online players, weekly optional activities, and flexible ranks from our membership, to our support & leadership categories. We have a 24/7 Support Team, a Councilship that governs each tier, seasonal events of our own, and many resources between the games we support and online services.
Who We Are
We are an established 9-year old community who's home is in Midgardsormr Server of Final Fantasy XIV. We are a structured, well-rounded, welcoming, friendly, and organized community that hosts daily events (check out our calendar: https://azureinfinitum.com/events/ ) that provide opportunity for members to excel. We work to provide an arena and opportunities to establish strong bonds and camaraderie between our members. As a community we are driven, we carry each other forward, and we are proud.
Our Name & Philosophy
Learn more about our global community here: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/aboutus/)
Learn more about our FFXIV Free Company here: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/ourffxivfc/)
Azure Infinitum means "Azure/Blue Infinity or Infinite Blue/Azure" and there is some mythos behind the name that stems from our guild-wide philosophy of kindness, freedom, vigilance, diversity and activity. We promote positive fellowship among members in an organized guild, with our sights open to our unending endless skies, full of possibility and success together.
Our motto is "As Free As The Azure Sky!" which stuck well when our FC was restructured from an old guild in 2014 as Azure was founded, and it was first shouted as we looked out at a clear blue sky above. has continued to be our electric victory as we continue to snowball in success and activity, our members soaring high through the Azure Sky, flying together!
Ranks
Click here to learn more about our community ranks: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/ranks/)
Our community has an organized ranking structure beginning with Members who comprise the majority of the roster. Scouts are our support team of Members who've stepped up to more officially support the FC, some work on obtaining a future leadership rank. Lieutenants and Officers comprise the proud Azure Council, a diverse group of players of different specialties and services to the FC, making up lower and higher tier leadership, seeing over the Scouts and the FC weekly events, aside from being admins. The FC Infinitum Master oversees all and leads the Azure Council and the company forward while always keeping the heart and vision of the community alive and in sight. Currently we are re-assessing ranks in the free company, giving more support permissions and duties to our Scouts, while the current council operates as a small team of Lieutenants lead by the FC Master.
Everyone Welcome and Who Fits Best
We have an open door policy. Whether you're casual, a returning player, a veteran, or a newbie, we have a vast array of players in our member roster. Our weekly schedule is organized and provides an array of activity for players of most levels, however we like to ask players who're pretty new or under the level cap, to be extra vocal about their needs while they're still unable to attend some daily events or higher level content that most of our weekly lineup focuses on. We want everyone to have as much fun as possible and have the most success. We find that most players enjoy Azure Infinitum, many have stated that they subscribed to FFXIV much longer than they ever would have imagined after they have been around in our community, as they've gotten involved and experienced all that we offer.
Our FC keeps a daily schedule (see here: https://www.azureinfinitum.com/events/) of events that are hosted by permitted Scouts and Council ranks, these range from 8-man and 24-man raids and map parties, to WT journal groups and trial clear parties or farms, and more- and attending anything isn't mandatory at all here. We're happy to have you, and its up to our members how much they'd like to get involved. Attendance is optional! There's never any stress to attend FC functions.
Savage Raiding Statement
We find that some hardcore raiders looking for free companies just to join their statics who don't already have one, might not fit well if savage raiding is their only or greatest focus, because traditionally Azure does not have a Savage Static, but focuses more on allowing members to organize their own groups and also provides resources to do so. Despite not supporting an official static for the FC, we hope that hardcore raiders enjoy the wealth of our community's wealth of harmony and overall fun, and that everyone may take initiative to seek out or build a raiding static within our community if they are interested, as opposed to missing out on experiencing Azure. Depending on the content season, we may have an Unofficial static lead by a leader, and routinely offer limited time Savage-learning events that may run for a number of months.
Rules and No Drama Policy
Please take a moment to look over our Rules Page at (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/rules/), we find that rude individuals and people who create drama are the outsiders here that don't fit well. We know its a big page, so at least visit the General Rules section before joining.
Recruitment Care & Activity
People of Azure Infinitum are often if not always good natured players who found their way to our community looking for a place with structure, friendliness, organization, and great activity, or they've been scouted during recruitment drives and have been well screened. Its a place where one can be social and attend everything, or relax in the background and enjoy the services and facilities of being in an active, organized, and friendly FC. We actively recruit periodically to assist with upkeep of community activity levels, and to meet new comrades. A community that closes recruitment can be doomed to stagnation. Its normal for a community to have an inner core of die hards who log in daily regardless of content releases, and also have an outer core of individuals that range from those with less availability to those who check in during Patches. This is why we take extra care in keeping the fresh blood flowing into Azure, cautious recruitment, and support our active model by always staying welcoming and sometimes running recruitment campaigns and other services. Handling Online Drama
Because we keep a no-drama policy and have a strong communication network, it is leadership's ultimate priority to handle any issues that may come up as soon as possible, and most people appreciate our problem solving which has inspired many other communities. Between our Support & Leadership ranks, we use a number of report and resource channels to handle situations, and perform problem solving protocols & tactics to fairly address issues as possible. Drama is inevitable at some point for any online community, so its important to have a large and strong list of moderators (currently around 60!) and a council of leaders (15+) to quickly handle any problems. Luckily, we don't have a lot of drama, but we're always very well equipped and very prepared. Our community has been commended by game staff in the past for our methods, and we have worked with the FFXIV Special Task Force to ensure as much safety to our community as achievable. It should be stressed that it is up to our membership to report to GM's in-game, and to Azure Leadership should any issues or concerns come up. Its also highly recommended that our members appropriately document evidence that can be used to help us assess situations and make proper decisions. Documenation such as screenshots of harassment is a great example! Our members online safety is greatly important to us and is a number one concern of our leadership team. Our Rules Page at: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/rules/) describes a bit more in Chapter 3, including other entries on avoiding/ignoring trolls, playing while intoxicated, depression, and more.
Our Philosophy
We believe in our community and its people, how far we can go, how much we can do for each other, being an experienced community who's core values are positive fellowship, formation of bonds, and indomitable unity.
Azure Infinitum tightly grasps success and masters a casual and lucrative weekly play schedule while inspiring motivation and providing avenues for further success, friendships, and camaraderie among all who freely fly together among our Azure skies.
Founding on the principles of intricately forging a generally drama-free experience with keen leadership and a zealous and mighty membership, Azure has striven to guide and support many hundreds of players through every era of Final Fantasy XIV.
With an illustrious history, company lore, impressive statistics, and a model that is adaptable and blessed with innovative ability, Azure Infinitum claims a dominant presence of excellence and player growth that is possible in our community and extended services.
Estate Organization
We have the entire set-up at our estate, from gardens for members and Krakka Root production (free for members' chocobos), to our stables, nicely uniform clean lawn with hangout spots that are popular, with crafting stations, all available NPCs for simple mats and repairs, cut-scene viewer, toybox, triple-triad board, a fully operational and geared fleet of airships and subs, and our Azure Infinitum Assembly Chamber on the top floor for our meetings where announcements are made at our Grand Assemblies. We're also conveniently located next to a Market Board and a Retainer Bell outside of our estate.
Communication and Extended Azure Services
We have multiple services of which none are mandatory, but we provide being (azureinfinitum.com) where our Forums, Event Calendar, News, Company Meeting Summaries, Seasonal Merch Giveaways, Contests, Rules Page, and more take place and can be found. We also have a popular and active Discord Server.
We also have a Facebook Group, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Steam Group, (Look us up! Or visit: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/socialmedia/) and Linkshells like our Infinitum Alliance LS for contact and aid from our allies if needed, our Azure Hunters LS for Hunters, and our Azure Industry LS which connects our members to our inner crafting/gathering community for newbies to pros.
Also worthy of mention is our big Company Meetings in-game, known as Azure Infinitum Grand Assemblies. Even though we have several avenues that keep people connected, our live assemblies gather the FC in unity where announcements are made first, and all proposals, ideas, and more, can be decided together live with the Azure Council present.
This network ensures a lot of information and communication gets around and has been exceedingly useful to us.
More On Events
One part of our reputation that often precedes us is our event crafting and hosting.
First, let me make sure its clear that attendance is never mandatory, but those who can make use, when possible, of what we provide each day, benefit from our events each week.
Since our beginning, traditions like our Thursday Treasure Thursdays events have run each week. Our weekly line-up presently begins on Tuesdays post-weekly reset, and consists of Raid Tuesdays, Wondrous Wednesdays (WT Journal Parties, often doubles as Trial Clears and Pony Drops), Treasure Thursdays (Endwalker's timeworn maps with groups of 8 doing up to 3 rounds of maps allowing for up to 24 maps ran), 24-Man Tuesdays (full pre-formed Azure 24-member alliances are made and raids are cleared, will be returning upon the release of EW's 24-man), Super Azure Slayer Sunday (our weekly meetup to do all sorts of PVP content be it Rival Wings or Frontline), and Monstrous Mondays (helps clear the current and previous patch extreme trials).
Special, Seasonal, and Quarterly Events
More info here: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/azureday/)See the latest event news & more at: (https://www.azureinfinitum.com/news/)
We also have what we call Special and Quarterly Events. These types of events are Weekend-Long-Events that usually consist of a theme or celebratory social events we craft. During these events we hold big Riddle Races, Costume/Glamour shows and contests, 3-Story Mansion Maze Races, Speedrun Dungeon Races, Hide and Seek games, Custom Quest Events, Discord events like Cards Against Humanity nights, Comedy events, PVP Tournament Circuits, and more.
Our Special and Quarterly events are Azure Day Weekend (Takes place 3 times a year across a weekend, celebrates the FC), Azure Summer Festival (3-days at the end of August in partnership with Child's Play, raises money for children in long-term care, anniversary of historic FC event called the Lunar Rebellion), Anniversary Azure Day (a big weekend event in November that celebrates our Founding), Azure Day Saint's Wake (celebrates Halloween/All Saint's Wake), Azure Starlight Day (celebrating Starlight Day/Christmas/December Holiday Season), Azure Grand Melee and Duel Tournaments (PVP Circuit series crowning our PVP Champions) and more.
Azure Day Weekends
If you've been around our server you may have heard of our Azure Day Weekends. Our Azure Days take place quarterly as mentioned just above, with four evolved editions called Azure Summer Festival, Azure Day Saint's Wake, Azure Starlight Day, and Anniversary Azure Day. With Azure Day Weekends and related events traditionally occuring quarterly our members are always excited to see the next big weekend of crazy and fun social games, and our showering of the free company in gil and prizes galore. We go all out when we celebrate the free company, and Azure Days are another way we find for leadership to give back to the community. 2023 and beyond is now host to additional seasonal Azure Day events!
We're always giving our members a chance to have fun, win big, and make some great memories in the in-game family we've become. Something fun is always on the horizon in Azure.
Community
I almost can't stress enough how friendly our community is. We have a vast variety of members from hardcore gatherers and crafters, social butterflies, chill veterans, experienced raiders, level grinders, support teams, PVP aficionados, mechanic specialists, and mentors. We're also very friendly to all casual players as well and we keep an open door so long as recruits are always aware that we have a no-drama tolerance here.
Evolution into a Gaming Clan & Network
Plans are in the works and foundations are being laid that is slowly turning our community into a larger gaming network, with our first established Azure Wing with regular occurring activity being founded in Monster Hunter World, this has led to a successful Destiny 2 clan and more. Becoming a member of our Discord and/or Free Company now means access to things like our huge discord, Azure Wing membership in other games, and being able to join in on any of our other activities in the general community. Azure Network as its being called at the moment, is growing with an all-new website and community features for playing together across Final Fantasy XIV and to Azure Skies beyond!
Activity
We rank high as one of the top FC's in Worldwide Activity on lodestone, and have for a long time. Most of our players are divided between the US East and West Coasts, members in East and West Canada, and a few outside the US or in EU or Aus zones. Because we do have an activity policy (mentioned below) we keep a standard flow of people, and have crowds in the early morning, late morning, early afternoon, afternoon, evening, and late night crowds.
Elitism isn't our style. Our community boasts a broad range of characters, great personalities, the proud, and also some silly goofs. But elitism isn't welcome, no matter how successful we are or how large we grow. We're always welcoming towards fresh faces interested in joining our guild, and the in-game activity ranges between 30-60+ online at once during prime time hours, sometimes around 70+ on patch days, and usually always with half the roster logging in throughout a 24 hour period, and around 15-30+ during the night.
Activity Policy
We ask that our members do not go missing without logging in for more than 60 days straight. If we hear word from someone or have some kind of decent excuse, we place our members on our On Vacation rank, which lasts presently until 90 days have passed. Exceptions are made for military deployments, hospital stays, financial issues, disability/health related issues, moving, or other reasons that might fall on a case-by-case basis.
All members not heard from in 60 days (roughly 2 months) or currently 90 days (roughly 3 months) are discharged. We allow 3 joins to Azure Infinitum in total, but exceptions can be made due to reasons listed above. If removed for inactivity, or you've left our FC for another reason and haven't already joined 3 times, you're always welcome back, but please remember, we are not a revolving door.
Keeping our roster full of members who have been online and presently play the game actively ensures an active environment for our players who play often. It also keeps our credits and clerical processes balanced across our network, and allows space for new faces to join our big happy in-game family of comrades.

Terangganu, Malaysia – Deep-Frying Seafood Goodness (at ‘Warung Pok Nong’)
Terangganu, Malaysia simply is probably the most enjoyable location you have yet to hear of (or maybe you do know about it, and that i apprehend why you want to preserve it a secret).
https://preview.redd.it/htlqf2pbjmpa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e178bd01e65cc9e0a66678552ccb3290afb526d
whether or not its the ever-breezy Terangganu air, or the concept of having a chef deep-fry a brimming choice of sea meals for you – Warung Pak Nong restaurant is a restaurant with some thing for anyone.

…and its in which we're going for lunch today!

excellent ocean views are only made better when you have a table full of seafood waiting for your arrival
the ocean perspectives ARE awesome, eating WHAT the ocean gives whilst DOING it's miles EVEN greater!
Its a ‘Win-Win’ with seaside and seashore food
Its quite lots a win-win state of affairs every time you discover your self taking part in a terrifi seashore view, even as expecting a banquet of seafood to arrive at your table.

paying attention to the sea spray at the same time as feeling the warm breeze, sitting in coloration whilst watching the waves is perfect – till a group of pals subsequent to you starts calling out for assist.

No issues nowadays even though, because the only hassle right here is, your buddies are calling you to assist them consume!**

With An Indoor Take-out Line
one of the matters that makes this Terangganu restaurant so a laugh, is how they prepare the restaurant to maximize both comfort and pace, whilst additionally retaining a cozy make-your self-at-domestic type vibe.

i will most effective suppose to call it a eating-in take-out line, and the manner you order here is just splendid.

Scroll down now and examine ‘the way to Order.’

Even on a weekday, Warung Pok Nong was full of families - now that's how you understand its true
WARUNG POK NONG IS A famous LUNCHTIME area WITH nearby TERANGGANU families
tremendously Busy, And amusing
There are a few tables out inside the open air (on both facet of the eating place, parallel to the seashore front), however most of the tables are beneath the main roof building.

you will need to reserve both your beverages and your food your self, however they may assist you carry the food (which is ideal, because you’re going to want a variety of it).

There’s a line for liquids, and a separate line for food, and in case you’re following the main drift of factors (just look for the unmistakable line of smiling and hungry customers), then food is what comes first.

notice – a couple of Warnings
don't forget to usually ASK earlier than tagging your pals on Instagram, or they might get in trouble for cutting off work early on a Wednesday (we were fortunate to be in this example now not as soon as, however numerous times – and i can handiest say a large ‘thanks!’ Malaysians like to devour, and we have been only too fortunate to be there with these new friends nowadays).

note:** huge reminder right here, this area is certainly popular, i'm no longer kidding – although it was simplest after finishing off the primary 5 or so plates of seafood that it got here to our interest – this eating place typically needs reservations from the day before you need to visit!

Make your self aware of how to order, so you don't need to interrupt the cool atmostphere or float within the eating place
ITS A lovely thing TO WITNESS SUCH HUSTLE, but additionally relaxation, IN perfect concord
Terangganu Seafood strategy at Warung Pok Nong
Step 1: Seafood
‘Warung Pok Nong’ restaurant focuses on deep frying seafood, and there are pretty a massive wide variety of selections and styles for you to select from.

due to the straightforward ordering (each patron lining up in the front of the counter like school students) they keep the order line splendidly easy.

everything is deep frying, moving instantly from the fryer, to the dripper, to your plate, for your table, each plate comes with a small saucer of red sauce. watch for your turn in line, deliver your order of form of seafood, and how many plates, and subsequently point out to them the place in which you are sitting.

Get different updates
enter your electronic mail and i’ll send you the first-class travel food content.

Step 2: liquids
the subsequent component to do will be a drink order, but they have got separate places for ordering both blending drinks or water. The water (and coconut water) is to the right of the food ordering, while the liquids that take preparation (coffee, tea, 3-in-one sweet powders) are to your left.

Its no longer as complicated as it may sound, due to the fact you can virtually try and order liquids out of your table (timing it proper, simply whilst a server arrives with the meals). Its just that this restaurant may be so extraordinarily busy, its sometimes simply quicker to simply make the circulate your self.

The chef right here is working with masses of fish according to hour, deep frying every remaining one
DIPPING every FISH IN BATTER, THEN transferring THEM TO BASKETS before DEEP FRYING every ONE
Step 3: Seating
the quantity of seafood they fry here is wonderful, and it gained’t be long before your order will arrive.

in case you need to take a moment to witness the chef in movement, lightly stroll through the valuable door, and make your manner across the returned.

The cooks right here are so friendly, it turned into first-rate to see them chortle as we stared in awe, the sheer amount of oil, of seafood, and the large length of all of the frying pans – it's miles pretty a sight to see.

And of course, one so as to make you uncontrollably hungry right away.

move returned outside and attempt to find a table, and of direction for seating, and then for consuming, this step is always extra easy to do with pals.

hundreds of fish frying on the same time, it's going to make you uncontrollably hungry
the amount OF FRYING movement IS mind-BLOWING – each of those ARE complete OF FISH
Crispy and Crackling meeting Line
The sounds of nearly 10 massive deep-frying pans full of fish are without problems heard all of the way from the ordering line.

walking back into the kitchen is highly enjoyable but, and its clear to me from this lunchtime as a minimum, that human beings of Terangganu are very secure running with gigantic quantities of frying seafoods each day.

these two ladies are professionals at fast cleansing each squid earlier than the deep frying which comes subsequent
THE SQUID cleaning (AND SHYLY SMILING) delivery LINE
those younger women had been taking part in a threat to expose us how to properly easy every squid for frying.

One woman lightly removes the inside parts of a squid (along with the ink sack, which is normally stored), after which offers it a short rinse earlier than passing it down.

the second one lady then quickly but easily eliminates the squid’s outer layer of pores and skin with a knife, making small incisions earlier than putting off all of it by using hand as one shiny pink sheath.

Smaller squid will nonetheless have smooth skin, but with fats and extra mature squid like those, the outer skin may be difficult after frying.

4 mackerel to a plate, and i think we had 3 orders of this today at Pok Nong Seafood
FIRST PLATE, A BALANCING show OF MACKEREL
The Lunch banquet begins with Fish
the primary of the fried fish are prepared, the first of numerous different plates that were on their way.

To quickly describe a bit about the mackerel, you may see why its just a perfect fish to deep fry.

The mackerel does have scales, and therefore it's far halal and safe for Muslims to consume, but the scales are so small that the skin is sort of velvety to touch – which offers no hassle at all to our enamel after those fish deep fry!

i am amazed at how light and golden the colour is of these fried, crispy, little fish, and there’s not anything like a display of fish like this to get the urge for food going.

specially else, that is just an exceedingly fun finger-food, and so simply after the instant they're cool sufficient to the touch, dig in on your first finger-ful of white, mackerel meat.

Crispy on the out of doors, bouncy and chewy on the inside, The squid here are super
big SQUID complete OF SQUID EGGS, DEEP FRIED, AND SERVED WITH A TANGY, sweet dark SAUCE
Fried Squid
The squid here are a miniature epic of a journey of texture – I truely love each chunk of these.

Frying to quite a difficult, crispy outdoor, but so skinny, giving manner immediately to the bouncy, nicely chewy, thick chicken within. Take the scissors furnished, and reduce each piece yourself before ingesting.

Squid to me is more about the feel, but there may be a richness and fattiness there as well. Our squid sincerely came full of eggs, and these roe appearance beautiful as well, like a bit bowl of glass beads internal every squid.

Sauce on your heart’s delight
The deep frying may additionally go away them with a bit much less flavor on their own – so that you may also sooner or later need to grab a sauce to go with those bites as nicely.

The eating place has a dark sauce that includes the squid, it smells bitter and tastes barely sweet, and whilst I want it turned into a chunk greater highly spiced, it in reality goes top notch with these squid.

those plates of squid were long gone in a hurry, i was very grateful to see still many more plates of both fish, squid, and then shrimp, on their manner from the recent oil drip trays to our desk.

easy, deep fried, and scrumptious. The shrimp is a have to-order at Warung Pok Nong restaurant
pink AND GOLD, simply shades on this evidently scrumptious PLATE OF FRIED SHRIMP
Fried Shrimp
At closing, the plates of large shrimp arrive, the only dish I never can wait to strive (I received’t lie, I may also have burned a finger or , attaining in earlier than they even hit the table).

The shrimp here are large, they could best match six or seven to a whole dinner plate, and the small bits of crispy batter on top upload a pleasing of entirety for presentation.

The huge scales on the returned are simplest too smooth to peel off, and the beauty of each chew of shrimp meat is elegant. Crunch for your heart’s content, and cheers your pals to any other successful day entire (sure, despite the fact that its simplest lunchtime!).

it's miles a need to-order right here at Warung Pok Nong eating place, it's miles obligatory to finish off about one plate of these shrimp in keeping with person earlier than absolutely everyone can dare mention mind of a departure.

Piping warm squid, sparkling from the frying pans
THE FRIED SQUID IS PILING UP, just WATCH YOUR fingers while IT ARRIVES – it's miles warm!
backstage
The very last step earlier than each batch of seafood is prepared consists of a at the back of-the-scenes movement that I also want to proportion with you.

The chef cleans out each pan of a virtually unbelievably amount of crispy batter that falls off at some stage in the cooking. He swoops those all out, swishing through the oil with a large display screen tool, and movements maximum of the fried-to-a-crisp bits of batter into a collection urn at once at the back of him.

word: some bits to go on top of each plate, however most of the people is not used for meals, however goes to feed the households chickens that stay out behind the restaurant instead.

It made the experience all of the better nonetheless to see how, even at this sort of busy and popular searching eating place, there was nonetheless a completely ordinary and nearby circle of relatives lifestyles in movement. Their lives here are growing and taking place in conjunction with the restaurant’s boom as well, and it's miles great to see an instantaneous view of 1 local own family serving meals (and their happiness) to so many other families coming for a meal.

Ice cream and shaved ice, covered with candy and colorful syrup
DON’T neglect considered one of numerous DRINK OR DESSERT options here TO HAVE on the give up OF YOUR MEAL.
The restaurant experience
It is a great day, whenever you can both visit the beach, and keep down ratios of over a dozen objects of seafood in step with individual according to table. exceedingly, our large order this present day nonetheless did no longer include the total kind of seafoods (or cakes) to be had at Warung Pok Nong.

There are also massive crabs (frying shells and all), a few other styles of fish besides the squid, mackerel, and tuna in our order these days, and then deep frying fish balls and tofu which also appear to be favorites here as properly.

subsequently, you can word on almost every table inside the restaurant, a dessert order of this vivid, cooling, ice cream and shave ice combination.

I did not do this myself, but some human beings at our desk say that it's miles very sweet, clean, and an excellent finish to the more heavy seafood options in a meal right here.

add to their dipping sauce with your personal part of Tempoyak, the fermented durian local Malaysian delicacy that we assume youve been sporting to your pocket for the complete ride
BONUS in case you occur TO BE carrying TEMPOYAK for your POCKET… mix YOUR own DIP!**
Terangganu – the proper seaside surroundings
The seafood options right here are wonderful, however i would say that its the environment and place of this Terangganu restaurant that would keep me coming lower back.

I couldn’t believe a higher region to go for a mid-day meal with circle of relatives and friends, an interesting (the remarkable food) but laid-again region (the beachside seating), a high-quality example of Terangganu food and culture.

It surely reminds me of the last time we had a seafood ceremonial dinner within the sand, that point at the Arabian Sea near Karachi.

in case you are traveling Kuala Terangganu, make sure to check out a few of our different articles as nicely – here is a jaw-losing meal of neighborhood Terangganu-style breakfast at Nasi Dagang Atas Tol, and i would suggest following this by means of a lunchtime banquet at local favorite Aroma Kampong restaurant for fish, soups, and of direction, tempoyak.

notice*: Tempoyak isn't for sale here, but if you do occur to be carrying a few (like we had been, from the first time we noticed it available on the market, until the very last meal of the whole journey), then sense loose to feature a few dollops to your own small dipping box.

2023.03.24 06:14 Kreos642 First-Time Cross-Country Flight - Any Advice and/or Suggestions?

Hi there, everyone.
First time posting, bare with me please! I'm headed to Vegas in July for a convention and I have never flown on my own from East to West coast before. I have been on a flight cross-country like that in the past, but that's when I was a teen/unaware young adult and my parents did the bookings. I thought it'd be best to be specific with what I'm doing, so I added the questions and extra things in as bullets instead of a huge paragraph.
My biggest goal: A flight that doesn't cancel, and a direct flight with no intentional layovers (is that a thing? Transfers i guess is maybe what its called)?
If you guys have any pointers besides dressing comfy, wearing easy on/off shoes, the basics as a passenger, I'd be seriously grateful.
Here's the details and questions:

Court Action Underscores Peril for Trump in Documents Investigation

Federal prosecutors continue to build a case that the former president obstructed efforts by the government to reclaim classified material and that he may have misled his own lawyer. Donald J. The behind-the-scenes legal fight over obtaining evidence from a lawyer who represented former President Donald J. Trump in the investigation into his handling of classified documents has brought into sharper view where the Justice Department might be headed with the case.
According to the wisps of information that have seeped out of sealed court filings and closed-door hearings, prosecutors believe they have compelling evidence that Mr. Trump obstructed the government’s efforts to reclaim the sensitive records and may have even misled his own lawyers.
This theory of the case has not changed much since federal agents obtained a search warrant in August based on three possible crimes, obstruction being one of them. The search turned up hundreds of sensitive government records being kept at Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s heavily trafficked compound in Florida, after his lawyers had earlier assured the Justice Department that all such documents had been returned.
Still, the more recent developments stemming from efforts to force testimony and other evidence from the lawyer, M. Evan Corcoran, in Federal District Court in Washington, indicate that prosecutors have continued to build a case and that the inquiry remains a serious threat to Mr. Trump.
On Wednesday, a federal appeals court weighed in on the matter, ruling that Mr. Corcoran had to give the government what is likely to be dozens of documents related to his work for Mr. Trump as well as return to a grand jury on Friday to answer questions he had previously sought to avoid with assertions of attorney-client privilege.
The appellate ruling effectively let stand the decision of a lower-court judge, Beryl A. Howell, who gave a blunt assessment of the case last week. In a sealed order issued on Friday upholding the crime-fraud exception to attorney-client privilege, Judge Howell noted that prosecutors in the office of the special counsel, Jack Smith, had made “a prima facie showing that the former president committed criminal violations,” according to people familiar with the decision.
The crime-fraud exception allows prosecutors to pierce attorney-client privilege when they have reason to believe that a client — in this case the former president — used legal advice or legal services in furthering a crime.
Most notably, in a lengthy memorandum of law that accompanied the ruling, Judge Howell, according to two people briefed on the matter, laid out damning assertions made by prosecutors that Mr. Trump knowingly deceived the government and caused Mr. Corcoran to misstate to prosecutors where the documents were being held at Mar-a-Lago.
The existence of Judge Howell’s order and memorandum was first reported by ABC News. Shortly after the ABC report appeared, Mr. Trump’s campaign attacked it as “Fake News” and “ILLEGALLY LEAKED.”

Evan Corcoran wearing a blue suit and black tie outside of a building with cars in the background.
“There is no factual or legal basis or substance to any case against President Trump,” Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Mr. Trump, said of Judge Howell’s ruling. “The deranged Democrats and their comrades in the mainstream media are corrupting the legal process and weaponizing the justice system in order to manipulate public opinion because they are clearly losing the political battle.”
Mr. Smith’s office is likely still far from making any charging decisions. And the arguments that prosecutors presented to Judge Howell about possible crimes committed by Mr. Trump have not faced the scrutiny they would in a venue like a trial, where the burden of proof is much higher.
Still, the accumulation of details emerging from the proceedings suggests that Mr. Smith and his team are drilling down on every scrap of evidence they can find in assembling an argument that Mr. Trump may have impeded a federal investigation. For their part, some of Mr. Trump’s aides have stated plainly if privately that the government — and, in their minds, Judge Howell — see him as “a criminal.”
All this has taken place in spite of predictions from Mr. Trump’s allies that the documents investigation would quietly blow away after President Biden was also found to have kept classified materials after his term as vice president. A special counsel, Robert K. Hur, is investigating Mr. Biden’s handling of the documents.
Mr. Corcoran, who testified before the grand jury earlier this year, is set to appear before the grand jury again on Friday in compliance with rulings from both Judge Howell and the appeals court. According to two people familiar with the events, he is not intending to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when he testifies, underscoring that he is not the target of the special counsel’s scrutiny.
In their initial motion to compel Mr. Corcoran’s testimony, prosecutors also sought to invoke the crime-fraud exception to get testimony from a second lawyer, Jennifer Little, who is based in Atlanta. Ms. Little represents Mr. Trump in the Fulton County, Ga., district attorney’s investigation into his efforts to overturn his loss in that state in the 2020 election.
Prosecutors are interested in Ms. Little because she was one of the few criminal defense lawyers working directly with Mr. Trump when the Mar-a-Lago matter heated up at the Justice Department, according to two people briefed on the matter. She counseled Mr. Trump to be cooperative, the people said, and left the case soon after Mr. Corcoran was brought on by Mr. Trump.
Judge Howell ordered Ms. Little to testify before the grand jury in her recent ruling, the people briefed on the matter said. They added that Judge Howell said Ms. Little did not have to turn over a document she had sought to withhold from prosecutors.
Ms. Little and her lawyer did not respond to messages seeking comment.
The extraordinary back-and-forth in the past several weeks between Mr. Trump’s lawyers, Mr. Corcoran and his lawyers, and Mr. Smith’s prosecutors — not to mention with multiple witnesses who are also Mr. Trump’s lawyers, as well as all of their lawyers — has turned the federal courthouse in Washington into a bustling hive of Trump-related inquiries.
The latest example came on Thursday when lawyers for Mr. Trump — including Mr. Corcoran — appeared before a new chief judge, James E. Boasberg, with lawyers for former Vice President Mike Pence. They were there to discuss some issues related to Mr. Pence’s testimony before a grand jury investigating Mr. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election, an inquiry also being overseen by Mr. Smith, the special counsel.
Late last month, prosecutors under Mr. Smith filed court papers seeking to stop Mr. Pence and Mr. Trump from asserting claims of executive privilege to limit the scope of Mr. Pence’s testimony. Representatives for Mr. Pence have said the former vice president would also seek to pare back his testimony by invoking the “speech or debate” clause of the Constitution, which is intended to protect the separation of powers.
Judge Boasberg, after hearing arguments on both subjects, said he would issue a decision later, according to a person familiar with the matter.

2023.03.24 04:12 ExternalTangents SOS Tiki in Decatur is having a special Chairman’s Reserve event on Wednesday with tastings of limited edition bottles

I just saw they’re doing this and that they’re limiting it to 30 people. Thought I’d share here in case anyone else might be interested—looks like there are still tickets available for now.
It’s advertised as $50 per ticket, but there’s a $10 service fee on top of that. I snapped up a couple tickets, hopefully it’s worth the price! I’ve never had a bad time at SOS so I’m sure it’ll be good.

2023.03.24 03:20 yungrichsnail Looking for a cookie recipe…

The first step to fixing a problem is admitting that you have one… my problem is that I can’t stop buying the “seasonal iced cutout sugar cookies” from the HyVee bakery. I have tried at least four recipes in an attempt to duplicate them at home, but I can’t crack it. They never turn out as good. I think my problem might be in the icing??? If anyone can clue me in on a recipe, I’d appreciate it. My wallet is having a hard time coming to terms with spending $7 per box of cookies, and yet I can’t make myself stop buying them. TIA <3

Questions from the comments:

How many blankets does Pat Fusty use when he sleeps? Pat will use as many blankets as he can! He enjoys being all snuggled up!
Do Boss Bloons wish they were as fast as the DDT? We have not seen them complain, as they seem to enjoy their own menacing personalities!
When boss bloons are added, is it when they are first invented? Or are there thousands of boss bloons out there, training for a chance to attack the monkeys? Monkey explorers have seen writings and heard stories of great Bloons with terrifying powers, they have not shown themselves…yet…
Have the monkeys/bloons ever considered trying to get allies from other universes (like pvz for example) Luckily the Bloons have only escaped into the land of Ooo, those Adventure Time champions are really holding down the fort! If the Bloons do manage to escape through another portal the Monkeys will be right behind them!
How many bloons have Patch and Dr.Monkey popped throughout the course of their research endeavors? Soooo Many! All in the name of science!
Do you believe the monkey scientists are trying to create teleportation? With the help of the Dark Knight monkeys, they are inching closer to making a Darkshift device!
What other potions, concoctions and elixirs did the alchemists try to create? Some they have not quite perfected yet are: Potion of invisibility, Potion of Pat strength, Potion of speed and Potion of instant banana!
what do bloons eat? Hopes and dreams, thankfully the dedicated teams of Monkeys are saving the day!
Are the symbols of the cracked bloons on the Goliath Doomship and the Special Poperations related? Members of the elite fighting forces get special insignia they can wear and paint on their vehicles!
Does Adora ever have fun? All the time! Her “bring a soul plate” parties are legendary!
What is inside of a spike factory? Spikes and a worker monkey! And a sweet sound system.
Does the glue gunner pet the rat to get that glue on the rat, or does the rat roll in glue or something? The glue rat always seems to find some glue left behind and loves rolling around in it!
Question from NK! Which superhero would be the best at popping bloons? Make sure to get your answers in the comments!

2023.03.24 00:16 dethyes Positive induction - graduated at 39+1!

Okay so story time ✨
I had a scheduled induction at 39 weeks for high risk pregnancy & polyhydrinamos so they had me go in on Tuesday night at 8 pm the night before they planned to induce for cervical ripening since I was at 2cm and a first time mom. Basically all they did for that was give me a pill every 4 hours that softened the cervix to make it easier to dilate for the actual induction.
Wednesday morning at 6 am I was still 2cm so they inserted a foley balloon to get things started, which was definitely an uncomfortable feeling but tolerable. After 30 minutes that fell out and I was at 4 cm so we were ready to start! But breakfast took forever & I was going to be on a liquid diet until after delivery so they didn’t actually start the drip for Pitocin until 8 am.
Overall the morning was pretty chill and uneventful. I bounced and rotated my hips on a yoga ball on and off for a few hours, read my book (Set boundaries, find peace- was actually a really good read while preparing for being a mom I highly recommend especially if you are a shy girl like me and have a hard time saying no or advocating for yourself).
My contractions steadily increased throughout the morning but nothing reaching more than a 5/10 on the pain scale.
By noon I was 6 cm, having good contractions & they were ready to break my water. I decided to get my epidural before they broke my water to have a more comfortable experience since they said that once my water was broken contractions would increase in intensity.
Getting the epidural did not hurt at all & all I felt was the general anesthetic shot to numb the area beforehand which was comparable to getting a flu shot. Once the epidural kicked in any discomfort from the contractions was gone and I was able to really relax, I ended up taking a little nap and being woken up around 1:45 when they told me I was 10 cm and my contractions were ready so we could start to push! At this point I still wasn’t feeling my contractions thanks to the epidural and I felt pelvic pressure as baby moved her way down, but didn’t feel like it was very intense yet or felt the need to push so I decided to wait until I felt like my body was ready.
I ended up starting to push around 2:15 when things felt extremely heavy and all I wanted was to get the baby out, I would say still this also didn’t feel as bad as I expected maybe 6/10 pain.
Without a doubt pushing was the most challenging part. For the first hour we were pushing not much progress was made. I really struggled with knowing how to push and I feel like this was mostly due to having no feeling because of the epidural. They did end up turning off my epidural after an hour or so and I was able to better feel the muscles as I pushed while still having almost total numbness and pain relief, I only felt the pressure and where I was pushing at a 7/10 pain scale when that was beginning to wear off.
I also feel like I gotta shout out my anesthesiologist because my legs were still fully mobile despite the total numbness in my pelvic region so I was able to rotate through a variety of positions but ultimately pushing on hands & knees and side lying were the two that felt so much comfortable and helped me progress things fastest!
Mentally I was hitting a breaking point as we hit two hours of pushing, I was vomiting after every contraction and round of pushing, in tears, sweating and all I wanted to do was give up. Around this time they started preparing things for the doctor to come into the room and somehow it felt like it shit was getting really real. The second the doctor walked in the room she said “you’re pushing out this baby NOW” and asked if I had any affirmations. Mind you, this entire pushing process I was hardly verbal and just focusing hard on getting the baby out and for some reason the only thing I could think of was “I’m not special women do this everyday” and the doctor (and the nurses in the room according to my husband all looked absolutely horrified at my affirmation) but no hesitation said back “Yep you were made for this now PUSH” and three big pushes later my daughter was out!
She was born on Wednesday night at 5:47 pm, weighing 8 lbs 9 oz and 18 inches long with the chunkiest rolls. I did have a third degree tear and by the time they were stitching me up I was rapidly regaining normal sensations from the epidural wearing off and that was by far the most painful part of my labor feeling the stitches go in.
Overall, I feel very happy with the way my induction and delivery went and I’m so happy to have finally met my daughter I would do it all over again!

2023.03.23 23:14 BongoJongo Big Island trip of a lifetime!

Thank you to all of you in this sub for your amazing advice and answers. It made our stay on the Big Island super special and a BLAST! Disclaimer: I know this is long. Skip around and read the sections you're interested in!
FAVORITE FOOD: Flourless Chocolate Cake at Canoehouse (killer)
FAVORITE ALCOHOL: Volcano Winery Wines (all)
FAVORITE BEACH: Beach 69
FAVORITE SPOTS WE VISITED: HVNP, Pu'uhonua O Honaunau Natl. Park
Saturday 3/11 - Kailua Kona Arrived to the Big Island. We got great advice on where to go/what to do from our lyft driver. We got to the My Hawaii hostel and changed and then took an Uber to Umekes in Kailua Kona. A great place to go when jetlagged - our bartender was super nice. We got poke and Virgin Pina Coladas. The poke was like butter - melted in my mouth. Then we took a lyft back to the hostel and crashed.
Sunday 3/12 - Kailua Kona We woke up and Ubered to the catholic church (St. Josephs) for mass. After that we bought sunscreen (reef safe) and walked around Kailua Kona (mainly tourist shops). Highly recommend Scandinavian Shave Ice- our lyft driver told us to get it with Lillikoi and Watermelon flavor and then Tahitian vanilla in the middle. For lunch we walked to Willis hot Chicken. This place was great - has live music some nights and had a line out the door with mostly locals going there. We had a great conversation with an 80 year old filipina woman and navy vet who were world travelers but lived on the Big Island. After that we went to Target to meet our Mauna Kea Summit and Stars tour guide but we found out our tour was canceled due to inclement weather. So we ate shamrock shake oreo mcflurries while we decided what to do. We decided to reschedule the tour for our last day on the island and buy some swimsuits and dinner at Target and take an Uber to the nearest beach (airport beach). We hung out at the beach and watched the sun set. Not a great beach to swim at but great for sunsets. Then we took an Uber to downtown Kailua Kona and watched a hawaiian band play for 2 hours and had lots of drinks at Gertrudes. If you're looking for great entertainment while visiting, highly recommend. They have live music almost every night of the week and of many different genres!
Monday 3/13 - Kailua Kona We hung around and met some of the people at the hostel for an hour. Then we went to a convenience store for some lunch food and then took an Uber to Kua Bay beach. I tried to swim but the waves were too strong for me but my cousin loved the water. Overall though a pretty nice beach! Then we took an Uber to get our rental car. We picked up the rental and went to get sushi for dinner at Sushi Cocoro & Udon noodle in downtown Kailua Kona. Highly recommend going here. Amazing sushi for relatively cheap pricing. We then got shave ice again from Scandinavian shave ice (had to) and then drove to Walmart to pick up souvenirs and food for the next day. Highly recommend going go Walmart for souvenirs. They're cheap and they have an entire section for them near the entrance.
Tuesday 3/14 - Kailua Kona area We woke up and drove our car to the Painted Church early to see that and get some pics. Next we drove to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Site. We loved learning about the cultural significance, fabulous views and playing Konane. Then we ate a pb and banana sandwich lunch in the picnic area in the park and walked around some of the lava rocks and small tide pools. After that we drove up to Heavenly Hawaiian Kona Coffee Farm on the side of the mountain. We sampled many coffees and had a tour with Nate from Nebraska. Kona coffee is incredibly fruity and delicious. After that we drove to Costco to get gas and some groceries. We then ate a quick dinner at the hostel and then went to the Sea Paradise catamaran to go to the Manta Ray Night Dive. That was amazing and worth it to go on a big boat since they had better lighting equipment than the smaller boats which attracted the Mantas for longer. The staff was also super professional and amazing. Mantas were of course mesmerizing and huge!
Wednesday 3/15 - Kailua Kona -> Volcano We woke up, checked out of our hostel and went to Two Step to snorkel. We saw yellow fish, sea urchins, rainbow parrot fish, and dolphins swimming in the bay. If you going to snorkel at all on the island, go as early as possible. By 11 am the best fish are hiding and the crowds have arrived. We had lunch again at the same picnic area next to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau park. Next we drove south and stopped at Punaluu bakery for some malasadas. My favorite was the Haupia and my cousins was the Lillikoi. Lots of tourists were also stopped there. Next we stopped at Punaluu black sand beach. This beach was super cool. We saw 4 or 5 turtles in the surf eating algae but none up on the beach. Also a ton of tourists here with some of them getting too close to the turtles. Then we stopped at Ka'u coffee mill to buy coffee and souvenirs. Next we stopped quickly at a general store for some ramen and butter mochi to try. We checked into our really nice airbnb in Volcano and ate ramen for dinner.
Thursday 3/16 - Volcano We woke up and drove over to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We stopped at the visitors center, saw the huge active volcanic crater, saw the Thurston Lava Tube and then many other craters on the way down to the ocean on chain of craters road. Recommend the HVNP Shaka Guide tour. It was entirely worth it because it told us which stuff was worth seeing and gave us the background/ history behind it. We did a really hot hike to see some petroglyphs and finally saw the sea arch at the end. We then drove out of the park. We were in the park for about 6 hours so allow enough time for this spectacular place. We then showered and then got ready for our nice dinner at Volcano House. We watched the sunset over the Volcano and behind Mauna Loa. The food and service were great (especially the fish dishes!). We then went to the Kiluea Overlook and didn't see lava flowing but saw more stars than we've ever seen before!
Friday 3/17 - Volcano I woke up early (6:45) and went on a 2 hour hike down into the Kiluea Iki Crater and out. Amazing views and worth it to get up early to avoid the heat and crowds. After that we decided to do our laundry at the laundromat. We got a late lunch at the Tuk Tuk Thai food truck which was good! The shrimp in the Pad Thai perfectly cooked and super fresh. After that we did a short hike to see the Sulfur Banks which is where sulfur steam is coming out in HVNP. After that we went to Volcano Winery and liked every single wine we tasted so we both bought a bottle to take home. They close at 5:30 daily so make sure you arrive with an hour to spare if you want to do a tasting. We then went back to our Airbnb for dinner (ramen and leftovers) and watched 2 hours of documentaries about the Hawaii Volcanoes.
Saturday 3/18 - Hilo We woke up and drove to Hilo. We walked through the Liluokalani Japanese Gardens and then shopped at lots of the stores (shoutout Simply Sisters boutique for authentically hawaiian made clothing) We had a great time wandering through the farmers market and trying a bunch of foods. We bought a jam from Steve's Akaka Falls Jams which is one of the tents. You have to stop here - they will give you 10 samples and all are good. We then drove over to Ken's Pancakes for a late lunch. I had the Loco Moco and my cousin had the Mahi Mahi with eggs and hash browns and we split an order of pancakes. Pretty good but no A/C there which made it pretty hot inside since it was already after 1pm. Next we drove to Big Island Candies for some good edible souvenirs. After that we went to the Hawaii Bioreserve which we loved and saw so many amazing flowers! We did get bit by mosquitoes though. We then went to the catholic church for 5pm mass. After that we went to Hilo Burger (really enjoyed the laid back bar vibe but with good food) and headed back to the airbnb.
Sunday 3/19 - Hilo -> Waikoloa Village We checked out of our airbnb and stopped at a 7/11 for some hawaiian snacks. Really loved the variety of snacks there. Next we went to Akaka Falls to check that out which was pretty cool! We stopped at the Honomu Goat Farm on the way out of Akaka Falls to feed some goats. They also sold carmels there which are AMAZING. Next we drove up to Waipio Valley overlook for a good view of the valley and ate our lunch in the car there. After that we drove to Pu'ukohala Heiau. Here the history of the site is more interesting than the site itself but regardless is very important in the history of King Kamehameha and the unification of the hawaiian people. Next we drove to the Fairmont Orchid to walk through it and see what it is like for half an hour. After that we drove to shower and check into our new airbnb in Waikoloa village. We drove to Mauna Lani Auberge to walk around the grounds (GORGEOUS) and hangout during sunset. Then we ate at Canoehouse for a 7:30 dinner which was phenomenal. Exhausted, we drove back to our airbnb.
Monday 3/20 - Kohala Coast / Mauna Kea We woke up and drove to Hapuna Beach for a few hours. The beach was beautiful with a long expanse of fine white sand and great waves to boogie board in. We changed and drove to the Kailua Kona target to meet our Mauna Kea Summit and Stars tour guide and van. He drove us up to the visitors center and up the rough road to the summit with all of the telescopes. There was snow up there and even people skiing and snowboarding! We watched the sun set. Then we drove down to a lower elevation to look at the stars. It was so fun to be above the clouds and we were really glad we paid to have somebody else drive us up the rocky route to the summit. It felt like we were on Mars! We then drove back to the visitors center and then back to the Kona Target. We got back to the Kona Target right before 10pm so if you are doing one of these tours prepare for a long day.
Tuesday 3/21 - Kohala Coast -> Departure We woke up and checked out of our airbnb. We spent the morning and early afternoon at Beach 69 which was great because it had lots of shade and very clear waters to see fish. It ended up being our favorite beach from the whole trip. We returned our rental and lastly stopped at Broke Da Mouth Grindz (had to get some Kalua Pork before leaving) for dinner before heading to the airport.
If we had any regrets it would be staying at Waikoloa Village for one more day and Kailua Kona one less day since it would've given us more beach time. Other than that we both loved the trip and can't wait to return.
Mahalo nui to the amazing people and nature of this beautiful island for a fabulous adventure!

Under steady leadership and systems established based on facts rather than personal interpretation, all unit decisions are made impartially and follow a standardized process. We have combat veterans and enlisted members from real life armed forces currently rostered who work to help develop leadership skills within our community.

Application and Entry into the 28th

Join our Discord linked at the bottom. Upon entry you will be greeted by a recruiter who will lead you through our induction process, which includes creating an account on our website, filling out an application form, completing a meeting in our TeamSpeak with your recruiter, and finally, completing Initial Entry Training, which will consist of BCT and the 11B MOSQ. Once these steps are completed, you are officially recognized as a member of the 28th Combined Arms Division and are free to specialize with specific training.
Upon application and acceptance into the unit, members are required to complete 4 operations as an enlisted 11B Infantryman. Upon completion of 4 operations as an Infantryman, the member may request to transfer and train into our other specialized MOS’ listed below.

Why do we require you to enter as 11B (Infantryman)?

We use this system to streamline members into our more advanced MOS’. Spending 4 operations at minimum as 11B proves that you want to be integrated into the community, as well as providing you with the knowledge of our unit at the most basic but most important level.
This system builds prestige within our specialized MOS’, as well as raising the base skill level of our radio operators, pilots, armored crew and medics. If you choose to remain 11B, there is lots of opportunity for growth into leadership positions to help the unit and yourself grow as a leader.

The 28th Combined Arms Division Consists of the Following MOS’:

Infantryman (11B) (Alpha Company)
After 4 operations as Infantry the following MOS’ open up to you:
Armored Crewman (19K) (Charlie Company) (Inquire about current availability)

2023.03.23 19:35 mizaustin WON THE SNL TICKET LOTTERY, SAW IT LIVE, AND HERE IS HOW AWESOME IT WAS!

Been a fan since 1980. I was a wee little kid staying up late to watch the "naughty show". Been entering the ticket lottery for years. Got the email that we won, and didn't believe it but booked flights and hotel anyway. Brought our email, ID and Vax cards to 30 Rock at 9pm, still wondering if the email was real and if this was going to happen because you don't get a reply after you reply to the OG invite email. We waited in line to check in- I don’t think I breathed until they found our names and handed us our wristbands. We cleared security and then we were sent to the holding area, aka, the Peacock Room. They had an absolutely kick ass DJ (got his card, btw) quick-mixing every amazing dance song ever made, free beer and soft drinks, and on every wall was a cluster of video screens that looked like picture frames that would rotate scenes and characters from every season of SNL. My daughter (19) and I posed by Stefan anytime he appeared. lol. For about 90 minutes, we’d bop around as they would remind us to go to the bathroom (go piss, girl) because once seated in 8H, there was no leaving. And also reminding us that as soon as we left for the studio our phones must be shut down and put away.
Then they began calling groups. You are sent to studio 8H based on whatever is written on the back of your ticket. You go into the golden elevators. Then you’re led down a long corridor filled with photos from previous shows. As soon as we got to the actual studio and saw the stages and the famous "flying chair", my daughter and I audibly gasped. We were one of the last groups, which we feared meant that we’d be too far away to see anything, but ended up on these top level “seat filler seats” which had more room than normal seats. In fact, our two seats lined up exactly with the center stage mic. We had an insane view of the whole process, and it was magical.
The studio is three stages--left side, musical guest. middle, SNL band and main stage. Right side, sliding props and sets and one set that is built-in. Leading up to the show, I had heard that they’d have a comedian hype us up. I wondered who it would be…and it was MICHAEL CHE! He was hysterical, and when he finished we were like “hell yeah, now we are ready”. But then out of nowhere, Kenan and Ego and Heidi and Chloe came out in costumes and began singing a funky ass song that got us all on our feet. None of this was on-air, and we felt too cool watching it up close.
Before they went live, the atmosphere was quiet but electric. I think we all held our breath in the audience. What struck me was how serious the cast was before the cameras came on. Then as soon as it happened, they dove right into character and it was wild to witness. When the first sketch ended and they said “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” I think both of us cried. again. lol.
Episode 945, show #15 of the 48th season featured Jenna Ortega, fresh off her show “Wednesday” and The 1975. Lily was concerned that the lead singer of the band was known for doing some truly off the wall stuff onstage at his live shows…but he behaved for SNL.
The opening sketch was an Oscar’s sketch—timely since the award show was airing the following night. Watching the cast line up in costume to appear onstage was fun. Sarah Silverman was filled with energy, bouncing around with Bowen Yang like she was about to burst from excitement. Most of this sketch was done on the main stage, which had to be dismantled quickly before Jenna came out for her monologue
As soon as “Live from NY” was yelled, the theme song started and everyone ran offstage to prepare for the second skit as Jenna got ready to come out and do her monologue. It went well, and she brought Fred Armisen to the show. As soon as she finished and they cut to commercial, a woman grabbed Jenna like a prop (girl is like 5 feet tall and maybe 90 lbs soaking wet) and yanked her offstage to get her costume and makeup ready.
The second skit was “School vs School”, set up on the far left of the studio in front of the stage for the musical guest. I expected it to be a Wednesday-themed skit, but it was actually a regular school taking on a knockoff of professor X’s school for the gifted. Jenna was Rogue and she crushed it. She knew exactly when the camera was on her, and allowed herself to break and laugh only when she was off camera. It was super professional.
They yanked her offstage yet again, and we got a Please Don’t Destroy video. This time, PDD did a spoof on the great American Road Trip with Jenna, and it was really funny!
The next skit was about a remake of the Parent Trap with Fred Armisen as a crew member with acting aspirations and no talent. It was so well done, and Kenan was laughing a lot when not on camera.
Then they switched to the “Ridiculousness” skit, which was done on the far right of the stages. It was so weird and funny, but it was the hardest one for us to see based on where we sat. Mikey Day & Chloe were sooo good, and the laughter in the audience was very loud!
Then the Waffle House video hit and were were HOWLING. It was like they knew that we’d come all the way from Atlanta to see the show. And yes, Waffle House is like that. It really is.
The 1975 took the stage and we were very happy the lead singer didn’t eat raw meat or pleasure himself onstage. They did a good job with “Im in love with you” but all we could think about was what was coming next…WEEKEND UPDATE!
A few fun facts about our favorite part of the show: The whole time the camera is centered on Colin Jost, Michael Che is making faces and gestures and laughing on the desk. He has so much fun on that desk. I know he keeps saying he’s gonna leave, but why would you leave such a fun gig? Also, they hid the "guests" from the audience behind plywood placed at the end of the sets so the audience’s reaction was genuine. Molly did a great job as the Tennessee Lt Gov, but the coolest was when James Austin Johnson did his impressions live. It was crazy accurate. He is very talented!
Then it was onto my second favorite skit of the night, the “exorcism” sketch. Ego ate that sketch up like a holiday meal. She was SO GOOD. Jenna looked eerily like Linda Blair from the OG movie, and Andrew and Chloe were awesome as the scared parents. What we didn’t know at the time, was that when Ego brought Kenan onto the set as “Frank” he officially set a record of his 1600th sketch on the show. INSANE.
As soon as we saw the band getting ready, we had mixed emotions. We knew that time had flown by, and the show would soon be ending. However, my daughter said “I just hope they do my favorite song, Oh Caroline” and then they did! She was thrilled! I was trying to slow down time.
Finally, the last sketch—and my favorite of the whole night, was the “Jingle Pitch”. A group of lawyers enlist help creating a catchy jingle based on their decidedly bad phone number from a performing duo they had heard while getting plastered in an Italian restaurant. Jenna and Bowen were off the hook fun getting “Luched”. Andrew & James took it to the next level as stereotypical nightclub singers and we laughed til we cried. Afterward we learned that the sketch was Bowen’s 200th sketch. He’s gonna have to do a lot to catch up to 1600, tho.
The band began playing the closing song notes, Jenna said her thank you, and then the credits roll FOREVER. It cuts off on TV quickly, but it goes on and on in the studio. Slowly, all the cast begin to wave goodbye and dash offstage, the lights came up, and we went back up the narrow hallway filled with the iconic show photos toward the golden elevators. As we were walking, a woman was screaming “ANGELA! ANGELA!” and when my daughter turned to see who was next to her and yelling, it was Punkie! She and Heidi had come from backstage to grab some friends who had come to the show. Then we boarded the elevators, turned on our phones and were led down to the gift shop. Every show gets a special T-Shirt with the info for that show only, and when they run out, that’s it. Both of us grabbed shirts before the rack was emptied!
At about 1:30am we walked back out into the arctic blast as a cold front moved over NYC. We went back to the hotel and watched the skits online that we had just seen live and marveled how it all worked out so well. We passed out to the symphony of honking horns and sirens, dreaming of getting a chance to do it all again one day. And yeah, I will keep entering every August and encouraging friends to do it as well, because it was one of the coolest nights of my life and hope everyone gets a chance to see it. Thank you SNL!

2023.03.23 16:03 EvolvingMind 🌱 Oida, Wien Was Geht? What's up Vienna (23-26.03)

🇦🇹 Wochenende 23-26.03

Do: ⛅ 22° Fr: ⛅ 20° Sa: ⛅ 15° So: ⛅ 17° 🇬🇧 Scroll down for English 👇
Let´s get to it! 🚀

🤌 Auswahl 23 - 26.3

Eine kurze Übersicht der 5 coolsten Events dieses WE in Wien. Der Link zum Event ist immer im Titel.

1/ Donnerstag Special: System vs Individuum - Wer trägt die Verantwortung in der Klimakrise? (Do 19-21h - Gratis)

3/ Plantec -Pop-up Store mit Club Feeling (Sa 9-22 - Gratis)

5/ Samaya - Dance into the Day (So 07-18h)

🇬🇧 English Version

(Oida), What's up Vienna?

Thur: ⛅ 22° Fr: ⛅ 20° Sat: ⛅ 15° Sun: ⛅ 17°
Spring is here, and with it the short period of time during which the Viennese people don’t find a reason to complain about the weather. 🌱
With the start of spring, there are more events happening in Vienna than ever so let´s get to it! 🚀

🤌 Laurin’s Picks 23 - 26.3

A quick overview of the coolest things happening in Vienna for everyone who only has 2 minutes.

1/ Thursday Special: System vs Individuum - Who is responsible for the climate crisis? (Thur 19-21h - Free)

Alright, up-front, this event will be held in German. But maybe a topic like this, is a perfect reason for you to practice the language! The presenter is an eco philosopher and will discuss the role individuals play in climate change and contrast it to the responsibility that lies with poletics, governments and companies.
The presentation will take place at TU the Sky at ‘Getreidemarkt’.

2/ Friday in the clinic (Fr 18-24h - Free)

The Semmelweisklinik used to be an old hospital in the 18th district of Vienna. The impressive building was more recently opened to give art and culture a space. This Friday there is a jam session happening in the old hospital. So regardless of whether you play an instrument yourself or if you just like to listen to some live music, this seems like an exciting evening program for Friday!

3/ Plantec -Pop-up Store with Club Feeling (Sat 9-22 - Free)

Spring has officially started and now is the best time to throw out that dried up, half dead plant that is still lingering in your living room and to replace it with a new, fresh, green house plant!
With many unique and often cheap plants, you can do just that at the Plantec Pop-up store. The best part? Starting from 16:00 live DJs will spice up the experience and the organizers promise some tasty cocktails.

4/ Säcondhänd Vintage Flohmarkt in der alten WU (Sa 11-19h Gratis)

If you think to yourself ‘fuck plants’ and you’d rather buy yourself a hip new outfit for the start of spring, you might enjoy the second hand market this Saturday at the old campus of the business university. Of course, there are some DJs as well so you can test out your new garments on a dance floor as well.

5/ Samaya - Dance into the Day (So 07-18h)

If you are anything like me and are slowly getting too old to spend every other Saturday going out until 5 in the morning and then having to recover until Wednesday to normalize your sleeping pattern, you might just enjoy this party!
Why? Because you can wake up on Sunday morning, have a nice breakfast and then dance on 3 floors for 11 hours and still be in bed before 22:00.
If you prefer to go shopping instead of dancing, you can check out the flea market at Superbude or the Easter market at Schönbrunn.

🔥 Party Party
