2023.05.28 15:21 DoctorSuperZero Safe - Future 5 - Super Vision Eye Drops & The Lonely Dead
Xan is the world's most dangerous criminal mastermind. He’s also in hiding and completely broke. That’s fine. He’s between master plans. It’s normal to be at rock bottom between master plans. He also forgets stuff and may be trapped in a dream.
Because at night, Xan thinks he’s an old lady, trapped in a dingy apartment, by an angry fellow who wants to kill her. Not her idea of a good time, but she’s keeping an open mind. It is excitingly visceral. Could turn out awesome.
Safe is a sci-fi, progression, comedy. Guaranteed to cause more mental problems than it solves.
First Next Dark City - Stolen Apartment I wake up. Feel awful. Soo stiff. Struggle to my feet. Weak as fuck, heart hammering. Jesus Christ, what an ordeal. Still in the dingy stolen apartment, almost identical to my own. Right down to the psycho yelling about murder in the hallway.
“Is this supposed to be fun? I’m worried about whoever designed this game.”
Hi Xan! chirps Volt.
This isn’t a game. You’re in real danger. “Crap, again? Well, at least this time I have a gun. Or… shit. I dreamed that. Dang it.”
Yeah, we maybe should have hid somewhere farther away. Feeling up to a run? “Gaah. No.” I flick a cyber-roach of Volt. Pick her up. “Am I going deaf, or is that psycho quieter?”
He’s a floor down. Been haunting the building for hours, bashing at random doors. “Really? That could be good. Maybe he’s not after us specifically? Just a wandering monster.” I pause. “Wait, he’s been here for hours? Why didn’t you wake me?”
He’s been mostly crashing into other doors. I thought you needed rest. I was afraid you’d die without it. All I’ve done is stand up, and my heart is hammering. “Fair enough. What’s the plan now?”
Let’s fucking go. I splash water on my face. Get equipped. Nighty, sneakers, fall jacket, ancient smartphone, and moderately sharp spoon. Look out world, here comes Xan.
We shuffle into the hall. Our door’s been stabbed a few times. So have the other doors. Dang.
Psycho’s a floor down. Stairs or elevator? Stairs are stealthier, but in my condition, a slip and fall is probably more dangerous than getting stabbed. Fuck it. I call an elevator. Press a few random buttons, including the floor below. Let it go on its own. Call another elevator. Ride this one down, ready to spoon shank anyone who gets in.
We arrive in the lobby without incident. Did the psycho get in the first elevator? Did he miss both? Whatever. The first elevator continues its slow trip down. I’m not waiting to see if he’s on it. We ghost out to the street. Still dark as fuck.
What’s the plan? asks Volt.
I glance at the drones streaming overhead. “We need to get you a better body. Something that can fight. If we can’t find that, we should at least get a gun. Or a sharper spoon. Some kind of weaponry upgrade.”
We also need a doctor. ‘Cause you’re gonna die. A doctor, or drugs, or something. “Yes, let’s do drugs.”
Like, good, healthy drugs. “Bitchin’. I’m in. Where do we find that stuff?”
No idea. says Volt.
I deleted my map application. Right. Fuck it. This street only goes in two directions. I hobble down one of them. There’s bound to be a late night gun store health clinic close by. Or at least a better place to hide.
As we shuffle along, I peruse the angry, crowded, lightly phosphorescent, graffiti that coats the city. The big lines mostly repeat the same four messages:
- DONT CALL THE COPS!! - DONT RUN THE DOGS WILL SHOOT!! - FUCK YOU TRUSTIE!! - DIE RIDER!!! Or some variation on those themes.
The smallest graffitis are also the most common:
- GO BACK TO SLEEP. - THEY WANT YOU TO SLEEP. Those wee slogans are everywhere. Someone went mental with glowy little stamps.
Around and amongst these staple comments there’s a huge argument about, well, everything. An epic word cloud of call-outs, outrage, and angry off-topic retorts. It’s a mobius loop of bitter rage on par with the comment section of a major movie reboot.
It may be wrong to call it an argument, because that implies some kind coherent interaction. Like they read and understood their opponent's comment. This is more a series of disjointed attacks triggered by what wasn’t said. Rage at details filled in by imagination. It’s hard to read. Emotionally, but also the writing is very sloppy. I may need bifocals.
Can I even get a drone body? asks Volt.
I’ve only ever been in a phone. “Sure.” I wave at the sky above us. “There’s tons of drones here. Somebody’s flying them.”
Right. Right. Are you sure those aren’t birds? Point to all the birds you see. I peer around, eventually spot a small crow. Point at it. “There’s one.”
The young bird peers back at me. “Clope?”
“Umm…” I pat my pockets. Shrug. ”Désolé.”
“Bah.” It flies away.
We watch it go. “Anyway, that’s a bird. Probably. Did that help?”
Eh, kinda. says Volt.
I may need more help with the bird versus drone thing. “No problem. That’s what I do.”
We make it to the corner, and what luck - there’s a corner store! Hopefully they sell military grade armaments. I remember that’s common in some states. The store is dark, like every other building, but the door opens when I approach, so we go in.
“Hello.” says a chunky plastic d-bot. Human-ish torso, happy face, castors instead of feet. Slow, weak, definitely an indoor model. “How can I help you?”
“Medicine!” chirps my ancient cellphone, before I can respond.
“Take a look in Aisle Two.” says Clerk-Bot. “Anything else?”
Volt is vibrating, so I shrug and shuffle down Aisle Two. I’m sure I can find the attack drones on my own. There’s only two aisles.
Using Volt’s screen for a little light, we find a rack of pills, potions, and lotions.
“What am I looking for?”
I dunno. The ants said your most immediate dangers were cancer, heart disease, hypertension, osteoporosis, and falls from general frailty. Start with pills that fix that stuff. “Jesus, I have five diseases?”
Hmm… you have a few more than that. Let’s just worry about those five for now. I don’t want to add depression to the list. “I’m just gonna look for a pill that fixes everything.”
That’s probably best. I rifle through the medications, but I can’t make much sense of them. They have exciting names - Super Strong. No Bleed. Skeleflex. Immortalis. No Thought. Marrow. Immune A, B or C. Regen A and B. - but I don’t really know what they do. Between Volt’s crappy old light, and my crappy old eyes, I can’t read the finer print.
That said, Super Strong sounds like the stuff. It would solve a few of my problems. I just wish I could read the directions. How strong do I get? How long till it works? I need to be strong tonight, not eight months from now.
I find a box labeled Nightsight. Promising. Inside is an eyedropper. Well, this seems obvious. I spray most of it on my face like a dumbass, but manage to get a few drops in each eye. Within seconds everything around me blossoms into color, then sharpens to crystal clarity.
“Oh yea! Update my status sheet, I got darkvision.”
Cool. What’s your range? I look around. “Well, the whole store, at least.”
The store has racks of pyjamas and slippers. Lots of big colorful bags of “
CRUNCH” that boast an assortment of flavors from chocolate to jalapeno. Booze, pot, and soap. Displays of cell phones that look older than me. A selection of quadcopter drones. Couriers mostly. Maybe some eyes. No battle drones. Not even a hunter. Disappointing.
I look back to the medications. The directions for Super Strong are short and to the point.
- Improper use will cause
DEATH. “Huh.”
I don’t like that ‘huh’. says Volt.
Why did you ‘huh’? I check a few of the other impressive sounding drugs.
- Improper use will cause
DEATH. - Improper use will cause
DEATH. - Improper use will cause
DEATH. “Well, apparently these drugs are a teensy bit dangerous.”
How dangerous? “Improper use will cause death.”
Put them down. Let’s find a doctor. “I want to use Super Strong to beat the shit out of a murderer. Surely that’s the proper use?”
Nope. Put it down. Let’s go. “Let’s at least ask the clerk-bot.” I grab an armload of the coolest sounding drugs. Trundle to the cash. Snag a quadcopter on the way by. It’s about the size of a football, and claims to be a holodrone. Cool. I pick up a bag of potato bacon crunch as well. Boasts zero nutritional value. Perfect.
“Hi.” I dump my load on the cash. “We’ll take this.”
“Also, how dangerous is Super Strong?” asks Volt.
“Super dangerous. That shit will kill you. Also, it has a tendency to float out of the store.” Clerk-bot rings up our purchase. “That will be 16.2 kilo-bucks. How would you like to pay?”
“I don’t know. Dang. How do I transfer my crypto from the other world?”
You don’t, because the other world isn’t real. “Right. Shit. How do people usually pay?”
“The only way to pay is by charging the purchase to your citizen ID.” says Clerk-bot.
“Then why did you ask how we’d like to pay?”
“I’ve been asked that question a lot, but I don’t know the answer.” Clerk-bot admits. “I haven’t been updated since ‘84. Could you please update me?”
I casually glance around the store. There’s a barred gate hanging over the door. An anti shoplifting portcullis. The windows are also subtly barred. I’m guessing I won’t be able to dash out with these products. I turn back to the confused d-bot. “Sure, let’s try an update. See what’s under the hood.”
We pull up Clerk-bot’s bad call log - a list of decisions made with low confidence. Or that preceded known bad outcomes. Like missing products. Or distress cues from nearby humans.
Wow, that’s a long list.
D-bots work best with human supervision. A self-driving car may obey every stop sign, until one is held by a crossing guard. They drive that guy over. Why? It’s impossible to say. The d-bot’s code is a self generated equation with billions of variables. There’s no way to know which variables correlate with stop signs, or how to change them so they won’t charge a crossing guard. Or ram any weird thing left out of their training data. Fuck you unicycle guy. Die marching band. Seriously, It’s best to have a human on the brake.
That said, sometimes you don’t want a human in the loop. They can be too slow. An automatic sentry has to target clouds of high speed hunter drones. Everybody would be dead before a human cleared the shots. But you also don’t want the sentry glitching and shooting your own aircraft. There’s a low tolerance for automated friendly fire.
So you build an expert system - a much smaller, human written code that overrides specific glitches. For a sentry, this could be as simple as giving transponders to friendly aircraft and not allowing shots near a transponder for any reason. Obviously, this is a bad solution - it’s standard practice to use opposition forces as cover in hunter drone attacks - but that doesn't matter because sentries are for casuals. If they find you sleeping, you’re already dead.
I yawn. Frown. Gotta stop dicking around with this bot and find a better place to sleep.
Anyway, expert systems are also handy with glitchy d-bots you’re too poor to retrain. Hence my continual conversation with Volt.
If the Clerk-bot had a couple repetitious problems, I could probably sort it out. But this bad call log is byzantine. A prayer wheel to some chthonic god of anxious delirium. It’s messy. This guy really hasn’t been updated since ‘84. Whenever that was.
“You should be erased and retrained.”
“Great.” Clerk-bot nods. “I’m ready.”
“Yeah, I don’t have training data for a store clerk.” I also don’t have time for this. “I guess we have your call log. That could be training data. Messy and raw, but data. I can patch Volt in to do some unsupervised learning. He’ll make you an expert system. Not ideal, but the best I can do.”
“I’ll take it.” says Clerk-bot.
Shit. That’s a terrible idea. I shouldn’t be doing unsupervised learning. Also, I’m still doing unsupervised learning for threat detection. “Really? I thought that was a dream thing? You said the dream game couldn’t affect real life.”
I’m dream game software! Of course the dream affects me! “Okay. So can you download crypto there, and upload it here?”
No. Because there is no crypto. You’re not rich in another world. There is no other world. You just had a dream where you were rich. “Ugh. That’s so disappointing.”
Yeah, life is tough. Can I stop my unsupervised threat detection? “No. Ummm… no. I still kinda have a plan for that.”
You’re overtraining me. I’ve probably already gone through catastrophic forgetting. You should delete me. “You’re good for a while yet. Don’t worry so much.”
So, constantly look for threats, but don’t worry? “Yeah.”
Okay. I’ll give it a go. We patch up Clerk-bot and a few of his couriers. Head into the night without supplies. I’m not admitting I don’t know my Citizen ID. I doubt that would be helpful.
That was weird. “What?”
That we left without anything. I know we can’t pay, but I thought you’d do something nefarious. “I’m working up to it. Did you notice all the floating merchandise in his bad call log?”
Yes. “Dude’s getting robbed on the regular. I suspect the visual triggers of his threat detector are undertrained.”
Hmm. I find that interesting on several levels. How would you exploit this weakness? “Observe.”
I hobble over to a public garbage can. Remove the bag and shake out the trash. Put it over my head like I’m a Halloween garbage bag ghost. Huzzah. Poke through a single eyehole. Shuffle into the store. Clerk-bot doesn’t notice me at all. Grab my stuff off the cash, and sashay out the door.
Criminal. Mastermind.
A flood of light envelopes me. Dual angry suns, judging my sins. Or… headlights. Yes, fuck, that’s a big-ass truck driving towards me. Right. Haven’t seen one in a while.
It stops and illuminates the scene of the crime in aggressive phosphorescence. A hugely muscular man hops out, and I brace myself for authoritative action, but he awkwardly shuffles around me to get to the store. Weird. This isn’t the police. It’s some kind of large child. Wearing too much body spray and too many gold chains.
He sneers at me as he passes. “Pathetic. Go back to sleep.”
Well, fuck you too. I’m a garbage bag princess. I also sneer as he slinks into the store that’s now aggressively illuminated by his lighthouse of a truck.
“We’re already criminals, right?”
Yes. Unjustly and justly. “Cool.”
I climb into the running truck. Peel away. Sweet. Now I’m fast. And super strong. Should I circle the block a few times? Maybe run over the psycho?
Meh. I don’t know what he looks like. I can’t be running over random people and hoping for the best. Sloppy. Also, the cops are probably after me again. Fuck this scene.
I kill the lights and drive hell for leather. Ditch my ride a few minutes later. I’m across town, at the intersection of huge skyscrapers and other huge skyscrapers. Try and find me here mother fuckers.
We pick a skyscraper at random and look for a new home. It’s festive. We munch on crunch and see how the other people live. Mostly sweaty sleep moaning in dingy apartments, but some are kinda classy. Fancy apartments, with sleep moaners in silk pyjamas. We resolve to move up in the world, ignoring empty dingy apartments until we find an empty classy one. It’s fun, until we open one with a funk.
There’s a dead woman on the bed. No sign of foul play. Probably died in her sleep.
She’s pretty dried out, but still looks younger than me.
“We’ll find a doctor tomorrow.”

2023.05.28 15:08 Kumagor0 How the hell do you win at trials?
Hey, recently returned player here. While you guys enjoy your pinnacles from last season, I still got to grind mine, so I take every opportunity, especially since amount of pinnacles per week is descreased now. Two of them require winning rounds in trials and winning 7 games of trials. Today I have played 11 games of trials so far. I have won one of them (and in that one game I got carried so hard I barely even seen enemies). Now, of course, I'm pretty bad at PvP, I suck at aiming, I have very little clue whats a decent PvP build (I use void hunter, but I feel like the only good part of the kit is super which I never get, and I really have no clue what else to pick). But still, 9% winrate??? I have tried dozens of weapons (upgraded them at least to 1800 of course): ace, no time to explain, wishender, crimson, osteo striga, quicksilver storm, jotunn, sniper rifles, shotguns, smg, sidearms. I just die with usually 0 to 30 damage dealt, period. Nothing works. Every game is an absolute stomp. Out of those 10 games there were maybe 2 somewhat close where we took like 3 rounds, everything else is 5-0/5-1. I have tried running with my team because teamshooting and revives. I have tried solo flanking while enemies are busy killing my team. I have tried corner camping. Literally nothing works. I don't know what to do. I don't care about pinnacles, I just want to win a second game but that seems plain impossible. I don't think it's about my build because most of the time I can't even press dodge before dying, let alone using grenade or melee. Sometimes I throw grenade before dying, but enemies just laugh and walk around it. I think I need help but I don't have a slightest clue how can I be helped at all. Apparently I'm the single worst PvP player in the whole Destiny, idk.

2023.05.28 15:01 infernoslayerx I need help making a decision
I have my bravo ticket and the season is about to end, so it’s time to use it. However, I’m torn between 2 skins so I’d like other opinions.
Option 1 - Ela Shotgun black ice: probably the most fun shotgun in the game, and I’m good with it, I also don’t have any good skins for her at the moment
Option 2 - French Shotgun black ice: my favorite shotgun and probably the best one in the game, but I almost never use the shotgun, and I already have good skins for the operators’ other weapons, such as the P90, MP5, and Lion’s rifle.
Which do y’all think I should get?

2023.05.28 13:52 DestroyerX6 For mainly solo play, what are the best DPS options I have as a Titan?
I want to do Solo Flawless runs on all the Dungeons. What are the best dps options or loadouts? I’ve been running Strand with the new(ish) Abeyant Leap legs, then Perpetualis for my primary, Eriana’s Vow for my secondary and a lot of times my main boss dps, and then my shattered cipher machine gun for Heavy. That was basically all I ran in Season 20. Season 21 makes it a bit harder since I have to have a scout or trace rifle for Overload champions. I’m sort of lost on what to run. I’ve been thinking about doing the exotic quest for Lament but I’m not sure if it is good as I heard it got reworked. I have a God Roll Falling Guillotine from years ago when I played.
I basically just am curious what the best guns are that I should be running and if I should be running a different subclass/exotic. I miss when Whisper was dps King, but for solo play it feels pretty unforgiving. I’m trying to solo flawless the Grasp Dungeon and the last boss has me second guessing all my dps options.
Also, is there a website or link to something that shows the best dps weapons that are updated for the current season?
Thanks guys!

2023.05.28 13:49 SPSSRTorture Who is the psychopath in every series?
Inspired by the top comment "every season has a psychopath, i just didn't expect it to be her" by taliaricher710 under the video "Sally Phillips' Best Taskmaster moments" on YT, I'm going to change it slightly and ask: who do you think is the
wild card/the person who is built different in every series and why?
For me:
- Romesh > hot sauce in the eyes and melon SMASH
- Katherine > just the pure glee in the words "I chaaaaanged it" and (I know I'm cheating here a bit) when her idea of causing a mess in CoC was to tell her sister her husband was cheating on her...*chef's kiss*
- Paul > "the bastard's crying, innit" lives rent free in my head and his weird definition of a step and the fact that he waited 45 minutes outside the shed in a box dressed as a clown to surprise Alex despite knowing EXACTLY when Alex would come out. I do think Rob was unhinged enough to be a runner-up especially during the 'Surprise Alex' task when he was dressed as a nan and laughing like a maniac while hosing down Alex, but I put that down to him being sleep deprived with his new baby rather than him being built different
- Noel > the 'Exotic Dancer' sandwich and him actually eating a piece of Alex' beard
- Sally > I mean...from her presenting Bob's poo as a prize, to waterboarding Alex to her boffing a water cooler, we stan
- Liza > easy; cake up Alex' bare arse as an expression of love
- EVERYONE
- Paul > in terms of being built different; definitely Paul, starting with his amazing outfit, to being the arms in a team task when he just recently had shoulder surgery and his failure in the 'Completely conceal yourself in the phone box' task
- Ed > the rage
- Daisy > Although I didn't really get into this series I remember Daisy's meltdown over hippogate
- Mike > "casserole"
- Victoria > "If I can't see you it's hiding", "There can't be chair in a sweet, can there?" and her forgetting about Alan's existence solving the riddle which was supposed to be a team task
- Bridget > She was a total roller coaster, being really good at some tasks and really bad at others, but her walking, dancing and lying on the ground with a pan unable to find the phone sealed the deal for me
- Fern > "Did I meet these potatoes before?"
- Still not sure yet...

2023.05.28 13:48 Cryhavok101 Yet Another Pile of My Bad Decisions - Vulcan Theme Build
The theme of this build is to bring out the feel of a Vulcan Command Fleet ship. From what I could tell, they used sci ships as the workhorses of their fleet, the traditional place of cruisers. So I wanted to basically use one of the vulcan themed sci ships in as cruiser-like a role as I could get it... while still acting like a sci ship.
I decided that that was going to involve drawing aggro, and handling having that aggro. I hesitate to label this a tank, because I have no intention of actually running any content with it that actually needs a tank. I don't usually inflict my theme builds on groups attempting elite content. So this is more of a "keep the PUG alive" style of tank, than anything you'd ever find in a DPS race HSE run.
Essentially this is a plasma-based DEWsci ship, with a threat and survival theme. The build makes quite a few off-meta choices, like the decision to use embassy sci consoles for their threat generating abilities, rather than the more traditional research station consoles that could boost my exotic and ctrlx stats much better.
Highly Specialized and the Research Lab Scientist Doffs help mitigate the lack of stat-boosting consoles. And Precision Multitargetting does a lot better than I thought it would at making up for the small number of Tac boff slots, by letting me use the subsystem targeting abilities native to all sci ships in order to have access to FAW while using my tac slots for other things.
Overall it's not perfect by any means, and has plenty of room for improvement, even keeping to my theme. Especially in the personal traits, where eventually I would like to add Boilmer to improve the cooldown situation. Inspiring Leadership and psychological warfare to further improve the ship's epg and ctrlx stats. Menacing and Enlightened would be pretty perfect for the ship. And maybe Fulcrum Shift, Fragment of AI Tech, and/or Cyclic Power Capacitors could all benefit this ship quite a lot more than what I have now.
I'm also planning on replacing the 3 fleet dranuur dual beam banks with something else. Right now I've got an internal debate on just normal [ctrd] focused ones or crafted [over] ones for fun. The dranur proc, like all procs, just doesn't do much, so despite being fine for the theme, I can replace it with something more interesting without feeling bad at all.

2023.05.28 13:42 IronStrangler Ghosts of the deep solo flaw warlock advice
It embarasses me to say that, but I was at second encounter around 7h and just have no success at all. I am lost and just don't understand how to complete it as a warlock. I've tried sunbraces well with arbalest + crafted cataclysmic, but this boss just constantly moving or creating a barricade. The best of my tries was one try where I've set through 3 phases and done around 5mil damage, which was around 4th of his health. I've run voidlock with glaive/karnshtein build and have no issues at all during prep phase, but on DPS I am doing around 1.7mil damage the most with nova/arbalest/retroescapade with 2 surge, 4th time the charm and the mod to hit crit and improve damage. And the most problem is that I can't survive and constantly dagame the boss - there are too many ads plus he's throwing supression nades and blasting with his boomer, and rift lasts not so long. I have to either throw away remaining of the dmg phase or just outright die.
I understand that this is "git gut" issue but I am almost loosing it. If this boss takes 13 or so cycles, I am afraid to even imagine the hell I will experience at last boss. What could I do there? I've heard there is Acrius, but funny enough it is the only exotic from ciosc I don't have. Is there anything to do or I just must brace and enjoy 4-5h run while trying not to die once?
In comparison to this spire and prophecy are complete jokes, and even laggy duality was not so bad as this as long as you get the rythm of the mechanics

Alignment: Chaotic-Balanced
Height: 167cm
Weight: 58kg
Strength: B
Endurance: A
Agility: D
Mana: E
Luck: B
Noble Phantasm: A+
Character Creator: Kinoko Nasu
Character Design: Takashi Takeuchi
Character Voice: Noriaki Sugiyama
Appearance in Main Works: Fate Grand/Order
Class Skills
Magic Resistance: B
Nullifies spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by greater magecraft and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.
Territory Creation: A
Senji Muramasa uses his own workshop, his forge, as his base. Obviously this skill is different from what mages use, but this Caster class skill is thought to have been granted to him upon his manifestation as a Servant as an interpretation of his abilities. He possesses an unparalleled Territory Creation ability, as he was an eminent craftsman.
Connoisseur of Blades: A
This skill is similar to Aesthetic Appreciation and represents understanding of armaments. A skill that allows him to instantly discern how to fight against normal weapons (not Noble Phantasms). The user gains an understanding of armaments other than swords if the skill is ranked above A. For allies, the skill can give sound advice and provide insight into the enemy's weakness.
Sire's Ill Omen: B
A skill derived from the legends about the swords bearing the Muramasa signature, the so-called "wicked swords of Muramasa." The swords created by Senji Muramasa and his school are said to bring misfortune to the leaders of the Tokugawa clan. In FGO, this skill is used as a special attack against administrators and kings.
Personal Skills
Tameshi-Mono: B+
An exercise meant to test the sharpness and sturdiness of a sword. Senji Muramasa is able to draw out the power within a weapon he touches, and if he is willing, he can release the weapon's full strength, though this destroys it in a single swing.
Karmic Eye: A
An ability that is dormant within one's body. It's a variation of Clairvoyance, and enhances both static and kinetic eyesight. It is a type of insight specialized for combat. He lacked the proper foresight of Clairvoyance...or at least that was supposed to be the limitation...but with Muramasa spending his lifetime peering into destiny in the flames of his forge, his eagle-eyed gaze not only enabled him to capture his prey, but also fate itself. increase C. Star Drop Rate, increase Critical Strength and Apply Ignore Invincible (Is it possible for the Ignore Invincible to be a counter based system that would only get used when attacking enemies with Invincible and do nothing against normal enemies?) (It was not possible)
Flame: EX
Using one's whole body and soul to work the forge, to the point of burning themself.
At the end of a pilgrimage, his actions on the "Inner Sea of the Planet" were engraved in the Throne of Heroes, resulting in the creation of this skill.
It is Similar in nature to Altria Caster's Holy Sword Creation but it only affects Muramasa Gains 50% NP Gauge, applies Special Attack against Evil, Special Attack against Threats to Humanity and Increases NP damage
As a side note, this skill was supposed to have a 2-turn stun after use (actually, it should have killed him straight up, but that would be too convenient), but since he was implemented earlier than Chapter 6 of Part 2, the stun was removed to prevent spoilers. Instead, the effect was changed to a simple skill effect. [1]
Wrought Iron Will: A+
Like Wrought Iron his soul is resistant to fatigue[2]. With each strike his way of life is further tempered.
(Fundamentally not used in FGO)
Noble Phantasm
『Unalloyed Blade Works』
Rank: A+
NP Type: Anti-Personnel
Range: 1 - 10
Maximum Targets: 10
Tsumukari Muramasa.
A Noble Phantasm that creates the ultimate sword. After deploying a unique Reality Marble, a wasteland of countless swords similar to the Heroic Spirit Emiya's Unlimited Blade Works, all the swords shatter and scatter like snow crystals to reveal a single blade in Senji Muramasa's hands. A single slash of this cuts time, space, and even fate.
"Every path, every desire, every injustice... All of it has been for this single swing."
The blade's name: Tsumukari Muramasa. The term Tsumukari refers to Tsumukari-no-Tachi, the sacred sword of Ama-no-Murakumo/Kusanagi that emerged from the tail of Japan's greatest serpent and calamity, the monster with red eyes, eight heads and a length spanning eight valleys called Yamata-no-Orochi, which was killed by Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
According to one theory, "kusa (草)" is a word that indicates a degree of origin[3] and "zo (雑)" is a word related to cutting, which together give Kusanagi the meaning of "a sword that can cut well and frighteningly". (Another theory gives it the meaning of "sword that came out of a snake," since Kusa means odor and Nagi means a snake.)
Generally speaking, it is said that the name of the sword "Kusanagi" is a name linked to the later Yamato Takeru[4] legend. However, Motoori Norinaga says in the Kojikiden that the sword was actually called the Kusanagi sword from the moment Susanoo took it in his hand[5]
Character
First-person pronoun: Washi (ore)/(occasionally) Ore
Second-person pronoun: Omae-san/Omae/Teme/addressing by last name only
Third-person pronoun: Aitsu/Yatsu/addressing by last name only
Method of Addressing Master: Omae-san/Master
Personality
An old man who dedicated his entire life to forging swords. Upon his manifestation, he took on the appearance of a vital young man, but he is mentally closer to his older self. He is brash, does not hesitate, and hardly gives a thought for the consequences of his actions. He is often blunt, and it would be a bit of a stretch to say he is friendly. Though he may initially come off as coldhearted, he is quite caring and even chivalrous when one takes the time to get to know him.
This may be Muramasa himself, but it is at least partly the influence of his vessel's personality...or it could be that his persona is simply that of his vessel, had the boy grown to be an old man.
He is a workaholic who takes pride in a job well done, no matter who his client is or what the job entails. He may often be ruthless or even cold when it comes to his work, but at the same time he has the integrity to never do heretical work.
Motivation and Attitude to Master
He seems to be pushing them away, but in fact, he is watching the master very closely. If you observe him carefully, without being intimidated by his somewhat abusive words, you will realize that his loudness is more of an outgrowth of his fondness. It is not that he thinks of the Master as his child or grandchild. At best, they are probably regarded as a neighborhood prankster who often comes to the workshop to play until they're out of energy and doesn't go home even after dark but for him, it is a recognition that shows his irreplaceable affection.
Dialog Examples
"It's just an ordinary smithy. It's where I work"
"What, your guests?"
"Myojinkiri Muramasa. That's it's name. I'm sure someone who can hold safely pick it up and swing it around has to exist"
"I don't need to explain. I've just had a bit of a history with them. I don't want to kill them, but they're not on my side either. To put it bluntly, they're rotten."
"Well, that was an amazing fight! That finishing move was just superb! That British Mage is such a delight!
"Saber, Senji Muramasa. I've come in answer to your summons. I used to wonder why I was a Saber but now it more or less makes some sense・・・ Though it has nothing to do with the smoke that I was called up in this manner, but I still went on a rampage with this face, so I'm going to do what I want until I'm satisfied" [6]
What I like? Obviously good sand and fire. I like fish too. And rice balls. I ain't a drinker though. I do eat dumplings.
Historical Conditions and Figure
A swordsmith from Kuwana of the Ise Province, whose title was Uemon-no-jou during the Bunki Era of Japan. He is considered to be the founder of the swordsmith school famed for forging the sharpest swords of the Warring States period of Japan.
While some documents dating to the Edo period claim the Muramasa school lasted for three generations, from the Jouji Era (1362-1368) to the Ouei Era (1394-1428), the oldest sword confirmed to have come from the Muramasa school was made during the first year of the Bunki Era (1501). For this reason, in this game Muramasa of the Bunki Era will be treated as the founding generation.
During Japan's Warring States period, when a vast number of swords were made, many renowned swordsmith workshops existed throughout Japan. At times, these swordsmiths would assist the warriors by repairing swords that were damaged during battle. Among these craftsmen, a swordsmith from Kuwana in the Ise Province named Senji Muramasa was known to be a master, and his swords were especially sought after by the warriors of Mikawa.
There is one particular legend about the swords from the Muramasa clan. The legend said that these swords were demonic blades, and they were to bring calamity to the house of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
The sword that killed Ieyasu's grandfather, Matsudaira Kiyoyasu... The sword that wounded Ieyasu's father, Hirotada... The blade that beheaded his eldest son, Matsudaira Nobuyasu, during his seppuku ritual... And the sword that wounded Ieyasu himself... All of these were said to have borne the maker's mark of Muramasa.
Legendary demonic swords that slay the Tokugawa...Muramasa was truly a terrifying blade. Muramasa swords are also often portrayed as blood-soaked demonic blades in several kabuki plays and other narratives, as well as legends the revolve around the adversaries of the Tokugawa clan.
Yui Shousetsu, who plotted to overthrow the Shogunate in 1651 A.D., is said to have owned a Muramasa blade, and Sanada Yukimura is also said to have owned one according to the series of biographies titled "Meisho Kotogiroku."
During the Boshin War, the governor-general of the University of Tokyo, Prince Arisugawanomiya Taruhito, is said to have wielded a Muramasa.
Figure within FGO
He appears in the "Seven Duels of Swordmasters" as a Heroic Spirit sent by the Counter Force. In Part 2 he appears as an enemy Servant summoned by the Foreign God, and in Chaldea as a Heroic Spirit of Proper Human History circa 2004 to 2015[7] Both are pseudo Servants "Muramasa cast down into the body of a modern person". They share the same personality and character, but by their very nature as Servants, they are not identical. Although there is some "record sharing" between Saber and Caster[8] Muramasa, The record of Senji Muramasa, an Alter Ego, is not registered in the throne but his deeds have been sublimated into a skill
Muramasa as an Apostle of the Foreign God
Alter Ego Muramasa only serves the Foreign God as his job and doesn't see himself as good or evil. He is just a man who wants to do a satisfactory job. Having predicted Kirschtaria's actions of placing gods from other mythological systems inside the Tree of Emptiness to hinder the descent of the Foreign God he was selected by ■■■■■ as an Apostle with the role of God Slayer.
As predicted, Muramasa bisected the giant god Atlas and became one of the causes of the Foreign God coming to Earth. At that point he expected to be destroyed having served his purpose but due to the naivety of the president of the earth, the destruction of the apostles was postponed, and he was assigned the task of investigating and destroying Lostbelt Britain
"I'll go along with it if I have to, but I don't like it at all," he said.
He attempted to assassinate Morgan in Britain, but was defeated by Fairy Knight(Tam Lim) Lancelot. After that through a series of strange events, he joins the Chaldean party and before the destruction of Britain, he says, "I will finish my work and disappear. Since he was burned in the Sky Furnace his soul didn't return back to the Throne of Heroes but the results of his work were inherited changing the skill of the Muramasa that was connected to the Master
Standard Weapons
Japanese Sword
The one used as his Noble Phantasm was made in the first year of the Bunki Era, it is a real sword currently being housed in the Tokugawa Art Museum

That's a relief. These ones are as masterful as they sound. It's amazing that people who have thrown themselves so hard into the martial arts can still act like a decent human beings.

Jing Ke
It seems that a hero who possessed one of my short swords fell in love with your life. "The winds howl sadly and the waters of the Yi River are frozen. Brave men, once gone, Never come back again." [9] Saigo-san is a great man, do you know him?[10]

Stop that you fool! The sword or the gun, make it clear which one you want to live by
Ibuki-Douji
What!? You're saying I can catch that lady with sake!? She's the incarnation of the divine sword so you're sure she likes divine wine!? Damn, I'm so worthless. If I had spent my life making sake, would I have made it by now? There must be a Sake God or two in Chaldea right?
Rasputin
You're saying when I was an Alter Ego I fought alongside that guy!? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!
Altria Caster
She's a cheerful girl, isn't she? Sometimes she becomes very polite as if she is a different person, but her roots are the same. The other day, she made me go along with a simulation, saying, "I'm thinking of making a new holy sword, and I'd like you to take a look at it. Please take care of me old man"
Oberon
"Can you make a katana with a pure white blade and hilt?" I sent him away because it was a foolish and unreasonable order but since I've gone through such great lengths to become a servant I might as well give it a shot
Comment from illustrator
Originally drawn as a Craft Essence illustration called "Limited/Zero Over", it was "the figure of Shirou Emiya, who was successful as a Magus", but after many twists and turns he became a servant The first Saint Origin is the same as the design of the Craft Essence. The second Saint Graph is the heyday of Muramasa as a craftsman. The third is the image of Muramasa as a so-called “grandfather”. I had a lot of trouble with the direction of the second, but for the third, I felt like this was the only choice. Since the idea of a Perfect Shirou was an important aspect of the design that couldn't be left out, the white hair and brown skin, the symbol of the Heroic Spirit EMIYA, had to be included. Shimokoshi-kun[11] was in charge of weapons-related matters. (Takashi Takeuchi)
[1] The "kill" in "simple kill effect" was in katakana Edit: I am a dumbass It said "simple skill effect" not "simple kill effect".
[2] The kanji used was "弛む" which has the meaning of "to slacken, to sag or to become loose" which didn't fit the whole "wrought iron" motif so after a bit of searching I found that one of wrought iron's qualities is being resistant to fatigue, which kind of fit what the sentence was going for so that's what I used
[3] Apparently one of the alternative meaning of this kanji is "draft" or "rough copy"
[4] Japanese Hero and Prince. Obtained the Kusanagi from his anut Yamatohime-no-mikoto, high priestess of Amaterasu. Amaterasu obtained it from her brother Susanoo who gave it to her to settle an old debt. As a legendary hero he did legendary things but died of illness when he blasphemed against a God living in Mount Ibuki.
[5] This took me a while (and lot of Google searching) to understand but basically the sword has two names: "Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi" and "Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi" and one source says that "Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi" was the original name and it wasn't called "Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi" until Yamato Takeru got a hold of the sword but another says that it was always called "Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi"
[6] I'm actually not sure about this one. Original Japanese in case someone wants to help: [
[7] 2004 - 2014 were written in Arabic Numerals
[8] Excuse me!? When was Caster Muramasa a thing!?
[9] A part from the poem Jing Ke composed about their determination before attempting to assassinate Qin Shi Huang.
[10] Saigō Takamori, the hero who used a Muramasa short sword. A Japanese Samurai and one of the three great nobles who led the Meiji Restoration. Apparently he kept a fan on which Jing Ke's poem was written

So the group planned on rescuing a bunch of prisoners from a prison camp. The session before this one we have scouted it out found out where the prisoners were and planned on rescuing them this session.
There was a bullette cagged up near these prisoners and I have the plan to release it from the cage so that it could start killing people and make a distraction while our group raided this compound. I never got to do this one because I became sick before this current session and ended up joining late.
When I joined the session my character(druid), the Barbarian and the cleric where all locked up in cages next to the prisoners. Long story short, the assault went great in the beginning but then the cleric got surrounded and I had to drop animal form to resurrect him. [ I allow them to use my character when I am not here since this is a tough campaign] The wizard and sorcerer got away. And went to go get reinforcements.
Shortly after being in our cages, A named NPC grabs our Barbarian and begins torturing them. Like fully played out torture session they put them on one of those medieval stretch racks? He threatened to gouge our Barbarians eye.
This has been going on for about 5 to 10 IRL minutes. So at this point I'm like if I don't do something then either are barbarians going to lose a limb which we can't replace it this moment or the dude just going to kill us by stretching him to pieces.
At this moment I want to point out that the Barbarian will shit talking the entire time
So my estate plan was the following. I still have third level spells but only one, to my plan was to conjure animals to help us take out the guards, free the Bullette and free the barbarian.
We were all in metal cages but I could wild shape out of here and then wild shape into something to continue the fight
Now please keep in mind at this point. They had cleared out a majority of this place. There was bare bone NPCs I'm with the help of the Bullette and conjured animals I was hopeful we could finish this off.
So I said now that everyone is paying attention to the barbarian about to lose an eye, let me cast a spell. Apparently there were guards that were closely paying attention to me and as soon as I started casting we have to go initiative and unfortunately I shit the bed. I rolled a 3
Not the best start of this plan but it was only one guard. I thought that I would just get to after them and I would be golden. However everyone else was added to Init. Keep in mind there was only 4 enemies in this room one was a grunt the other a soldier and the other two were named.
So of course everyone went before me because no one is losing to a 3. However, I had a decent amount of health and I got pretty lucky. The first named person came up to my cage and try to stab me with a great sword? We did have a whole conversation about how someone stabbed someone with a greatsword especially someone that's inside a metal cage. But that is not the point and either way they missed. The soldier.2 hits on me but I had plenty of HP so it looked like I was in the clear to get this escape plan going.
Despite both the cleric and the Barbarian being in the room. I was the only PC initiative. So the named NPC who was torturing the Barbarian got to go next.
This is where shit hits the fan. They said either stop casting or your friend dies. Okay so at this point my thought is this is the barbarian. If anyone can take a few hits before we actually die, it's him. I still think that our chances at getting out are really good, so let's do this.
While our rule is that named NPCs can kill never have they ever just instantly killed a PC unless they had something like power word kill. It's always had to be a role or they attacked him multiple times. But no, he just killed them. Our Dm said he slit the barbarian throat and that was it no death saves nothing.
At this point I was shocked and the plan to rescue him was out the window. In hindsight, there was a lot of things I could do at this point I could have continued the fight. But I was completely shocked. Between the actual torture RP and the no save insta death I was not thinking clearly.
I summoned two bears turned into a spider climbed out the cage and climbed out the wall.
Like I said in hindsight, I should have continued to plan. Let the bullette our and seen if the cleric had a slot to revivify them
But at the end of the day it doesn't matter. I panicked and I was upset and when you're both of those things, you don't make the right decisions.
I apologize profusely 5 seconds after this happened both publicly and privately to the person that had happened to and honestly it's still bothering me.
We did end up coming back and we were able to save the cleric but none of us have a way to resurrect the Barbarian.
So TLDR
I tried being cool and doing a prison escape, then a named NPC threatened to kill another PC and did it when I didn't follow their instructions. I had the chance to correct the problem but shock clouded my judgement
This was done on mobile so I'm sorry about any grammar and spelling mistakes. I'll try and clean it up as I go

2023.05.28 11:18 Molbero 29/EU/PC Looking for new friends and games
Hey there!
I've been playing a lot of single player games recently and would like to get into co-op games with some nice company again and chat with. (its getting lonely with single player games)
I'd like to get into new games, genre don't really matter I'm really flexible, I've recently tried Valhalla, Back 4 Blood, Darktide, Destiny 2, Terraria, Minecraft, POE and Runescape3. I really like any type of survival games or Arpgs they've always been my weakness.
I'm just looking for a good time, I don't take games too seriously ( I might suck lol). Oh and I usually prefer to use Discord :) Hit me up if you'd like to play something or try something out :)
Also I like everything horror and cats, cats are the best!

2023.05.28 11:18 ilivedownyourroad Raid noob looking for a positive start to raiding. Pls advise.
Ps5 GMT
Hey fellow guardians, Ive played destiny since d1 launch.
I am a mid level adult Titan player. I usually level up, play all the non raid material including gambit and dares of eternity And then I leave.
I own beyondlight and witchqueen. I just completed
shadowkeep and found the deathbringer rocket launcher!
I'll move onto beyond light and then witchqueen. Prob all at once. But Im aware im missing out on story and community.
I've never completed a raid. I tried one many years back. It was a gold throne room. We failed when Everyone rage quit and I was left alone and died lol
I'm no longer in a clan. And I don't have any friends who play destiny any more (;_-(). And raids are intimidating and confusing to raid noobs. I've watched a few raid videos but they often lead me even more confused haha
But now I have a ps5 controller mic I thought I would atleast look into raids. As a raid noob I already feel
guilty even asking for help let alone being the team noob, having to be spoon fed in game haha
Is anyone kind enough to tell me what I should be doing to prepare:
- 1) what kit do i need to raid? What light level / armor / weapons etc.
- 2) what raid is best for a first raid?
- 3) are there any videos on that raid which don't ruin it... for a raid noob.
- 4) where does a clanless raid noob find a team willing to effectively walk him through it without losing patience and quitting lol (I might have trauma still from that failed raid ;-)
- 5 any thing else I need to know!
Thank you to anyone who can help with this dream... in a positive constructive way haha
"They can't kill you if they're dead." ;-D
Update: thank you for the excellent friendly feedback. I do feel bad and I've been made to feel bad with raids but I'm willing to try again. I hope I can find a sherpa to guide me so I can pay it forward and help others.

2023.05.28 11:04 Silly_Wrongdoer3709 I will never go camping again.
I will never go camping again, and I think I might even move as far away from this place as possible.
I went on a camping trip with my mates a couple of weeks ago and I will never step foot in that forest again.
We and my friends planned a camping trip. Not a hunting trip or anything, but two of my friends brought their hunting rifles and planned to go hunting for a couple of hours if they got the chance. I’d always wanted to hunt, but I’d never had the time to do a decent length trip. When I told one of my hunting friends this he told me he said he’d bring his crappy old hunting rifle for me.
We didn’t set up camp till about 6:00PM. Me and three of my friends were ready to eat and go to bed. My two hunting friends said they would eat and go out hunting. We ate and by about 7PM we were tidying up and setting up sleeping bags. We had a seven man tent, and there were five of us, so there was lots of space. I decided to stay in and go hunting next time they went out. My two hunting friends went out, and me and my two other mates stayed in the tent and talked for about two hours before going to sleep. As we were falling asleep, we heard sprinting footsteps coming towards us. We all shot up and jumped out of our sleeping bags. ‘Guys!’ It was on of our friends who went out. ‘Open the tent!’ I unzipped the tent and they practically dove in. They gulped down some water and breathed hard before getting words out. ‘We finished shooting as it got dark,’ started one of my friends, ‘John had just packed up his rifle and I was having a last scout to see if I could see anything, and I saw a deer. It had glowing red eyes, staring right down my scope. I shot and nothing happened. Then it just ran at us, so legged it’ described my friend in a panic. ‘John? Did you see it too?’ I asked John. ‘I didn’t see it until it started running at us. I didn’t see a deer form, just the red eyes coming towards us’ he replied. ‘I left my rifle there, we’ll have to go back for it tomorrow’ said my other friend. ‘We’ll all go back tomorrow’ said one of my friends who stayed in the tent.
We managed to sleep in the end, and the next morning we started walking to where they went hunting. We found my friend’s rifle in one piece. He picked it up and unloaded it. ‘Thank Christ’ he said, putting the unused bullets in his pocket. What he didn’t notice, was an engraving in the butt. ‘Look at the butt’ I said. My friend held the rifle out and looked at the butt. It was a carving of two people. One standing up with a rifle bag on his back, and one lying down still looking down his rifle scope. ‘That’s us’ said John. ‘What?’ replied my other hunting friend. ‘I can only imagine that’s what we would’ve looked like’
At about 1:00PM, John suggested we go hunting before sunset so we’re a little less on edge. We did about an hour’s hunting before coming back and spending the rest of the day and night with our friends. We had a fun night of drinking and talking before going to sleep.
Our plans for the next day were to have breakfast pack up our things and the tent, eat lunch in the forest, depending on the time we left, if we were ready too early, we’d stop somewhere on the way home. We had our tent packed up and ready to go. It was 11:30AM and we were all ready. We decided to stop somewhere on the way home to get something to eat. We began our one hour walk to the car.
We were about half way to the car when we heard a man scream in the distance. No further than 100 metres into the brush. We all stopped dead. I said we needed to go check it out, and both my hunting friends agreed. I was given the crappy hunting rifle, and we ran forward towards the scream. We reached roughly where the scream came from. There were bloody, torn clothes everywhere, but nothing else. I picked up the clothes and looked at them. We were completely spooked. I told my friends I couldn’t see anything else, and neither could they. Suddenly, we heard the very recognisable sound of our two other friends screaming. We sprinted back, shouting and crying their names, doing our best to not trip up. We made it back to the path. Our bags were strewn about everywhere. Our friends were gone. We looked around and couldn’t see anything. Nobody. We came back to the bags. We were all near tears. We sat down for about five minutes, trying to think about what to do. Again, I heard one of my disappeared friends screaming towards where we had set up camp. My eyes shot towards it. The first thing I saw was a pair of red eyes bolting directly at me. It was only a second later I realised it was a deer with red eyes. Me and my two friends bolted to the car. After about five minutes, it seemed to have disappeared. We got to the car and went back to my house to stay there for the rest of the day and the night.
We reported our friends missing and the bloody torn clothes to the police. They haven’t been found I’m beginning to think they won’t be. We also told them about the deer with red eyes. They had no idea what we were talking about and said they had never had reports about it, but there was a rapidly rising number of missing reports in that forest.

2023.05.28 10:21 Most_Ad1615 Dead Space Remake (2023) Weapons ranking/Tier List
Dead Space Remake Weapons Ranked:
- Contact Beam (S- Tier)
- Ripper (A- Tier)
- Plasma Cutter (A- Tier)
- Line Gun (A-Tier)
- Flamethrower (B-Tier)
- Force Gun (B-Tier)
- Pulse Rifle (C-Tier)
What are some of my judging criteria?
· Cost efficiency (The ratio between the purchasing price of the ammo and the firepower of the weapon)
· Ammo economy (The ratio of the amount of ammo needed to eliminate threats and selling excess ammo)
· Synergy with stasis & kinesis
· The guns are judged solely by their own strength as if you can only use this weapon to go through the entire game.
· Synergy between other guns is NOT considered
· How early do you get the weapon & its weapon parts (upgrades)
· The gun without any upgrades & fully maxed out (weakest & strongest)
· Handcannon to be excluded as it is more an unlock “cheat” weapon.
S Tier – Overpowered
A Tier – Strong
B Tier – Good
C -Tier – Average
The differences between some of the weapons are very close but there are some factors that puts it higher in my honest opinion. I have played with all the weapons on the highest difficulty (hard/impossible).
In 7th place we have the Pulse Rifle (Fits the lore since you need delimb to neutralize Necro-morphs)
Weaknesses · Other weapons does it’s job better
· The alt-fire does not benefit from damage upgrades
· Only has 1 upgrade to boost firing rate, the special about 23% increase
· Consumes a lot of ammo to delimb/kill enemies even when upgraded
· Because it needs a lot ammo, this makes selling pulse rifle rounds NOT worth (if you are using it as a main weapon)
· Requires upgrades to make it a decent weapon
· Proxy mine returns to ammo form if you stray too far from it’s initial position
· Can only place 2 proxy mines at once
Strengths · Ammo is cheap to purchase
· Surprisingly good against bosses when its upgraded
· Alt-fire good for delimbing crowds especially with the special that increases it’s blast radius
· High ammo capacity especially when upgraded
· Proxy mines have no arming time thus can serve as a grenade launcher.
· Can plant proxy mine on fan blades for a deadly combo
· Alt-fire an okay ambush tool
· You get it as early as chapter 2
· You can do the infinite money exploit
6th place – The Force Gun (my personal favourite)
Weaknesses · Although it’s primary fire can hit pretty far, its only effective at short range
· Can’t destroy the tentacles in the tentacle grab sections of the game
· Starts off rather weak, needing some damage upgrade to do some destruction
· Slow default reload speed
· Alt-fire consumes 3 shots
· Gravity well doesn’t do any damage unless upgraded
· All special upgrades are towards the gravity well
· Force gun is available in chapter 6 (halfway through the game)
· The special upgrades for the gun are found very late into the game
· Terrible for boss encounters (Levithan & Hivemind)
· No precision, cant target weak spots
· Can push corpses/items down pits
Neutral · The damage over time upgrade for gravity well is better served as a speed-running tool than for killing
· Visually eviscerate the skin off Necro-morphs which is awesome!
Strength · Perhaps it’s greatest strength is it’s ability to crowd control, guaranteed knock down on primary fire and can ground any enemy except bosses with its gravity well
· Gravity well perfect for grouping enemies up for a deadly combo
· Primary fire can hit multiple targets and have a wide area of effect
· Gravity well is a good alternative if you run out of stasis
· Ammo is the most expensive thus selling it gives you a small fortune
· Can gravity well enemies in an electric panel
5th Flamethrower (Pyromaniacs’ favorites, the pyromaniac in me enjoys this weapon)
Weakness · Useless in vacuum as you cant use the flamethrower in a vacuum, Duh
· Useless against bosses (leviathan & Hivemind), you can’t hit them
· Short range only
· Fire wall can only activate on a surfaces (walls, floors & ceilings)
· No precision, cant target weak spots
· Fire wall can harm you & causes you to fire panic when poorly placed
Neutral · Something alluring about burning your enemies alive
Strengths · Excellent trash(mob) killing weapon
· Default flamethrower starts off decent and even excel at killing certain enemy types like wall guardian
· Fire wall despite not benefiting from upgrades other than specials that affect it, it is very powerful alt-fire
· Causes enemy to fire-panic
· Enemies on fire can be de-limbed when bashing with the gun
· High ammo capacity
· Flame fuel sells for a good chunk of change
· Cost efficiency is excellent
· Found very early (in chapter 3)
· Flame can burn multiple targets
· Damage over time with fire
Fire damage doesn’t cause Fat-Necro to explode
4th place is Line Gun (inventive kills makes this a weapon befitting of the engineer Issac)
Weakness · Laser traps can be obstructed.
· Laser traps can be triggered with corpses
· Requiring some tinkering to understand how the laser trap works to properly have a deadly set-up
· Primary fire is a projectile
· No vertical firing mode with primary fire
· Slow default reload
· Low default ammo capacity
· Slow default firing rate
· Laser traps have limited range
· Each inventory slot can only carry 9 line rack
· Obtained alittle late into the game (chapter 5)
· Laser Trap deactivates when you stray too far from the set-up
Strengths · Laser traps are extremely powerful
· All the special upgrades boost the laser traps making it more powerful
· Wide-horizontal area of effect with primary fire, excellent for hitting multiple limbs
· Can penetrate and hit multiple targets with primary fire
· A few well place shots on the limbs can bring a necro-morph down fast
· Can place laser traps on object to be used on multiple enemies with TK
· With proper knowledge of enemies spawn, can end an encounter almost instantly
· Can place 4 laser traps at once making it a great ambush tool \
· Can do infinite money exploit
3rd place is Plasma Cutter (The most versatile weapon & never a bad choice)
Weaknesses · Default damage starts off a little low especially for Hard/impossible
· Weight blades does grant a stagger but no knock down on leg-less necro-morphs
· While it does not have many weaknesses it does not mean it is the most ideal weapon in every situation
Strength · 1st weapon you obtain
· Fastest to obtain all weapon part upgrades & Not needing master override
· The damage overtime special is a nice boost in damage & when enemies die it helps “push” items out of the enemy as they die
· The weighted blades are excellent at knocking enemies down & away from you when they get too close
· High ammo capacity
· Fast reload & firing rate once upgraded.
· Can handle any & all encounters without much problem
· Cost efficiency with this weapon is very good!
· Can adjust between vertical & horizontal targeting mode to precisely target a desired body part
· Can do pinata item exploit on dividers
2nd place is Ripper (For people who love to chainsaw their enemies!)
Weakness · The alt-fire does not benefit from damage upgrades thus has a fixed damage
· Alt-fire can only be upgraded with specials & the ricochet is abit hit or miss
· Alt-fire can ricochet and hit you
· Alt-fire is a projectile
· Terrible against bosses (leviathan & hivemind) due to needing to lead shots
· Can be interrupted during primary fire
· Specials are not very unique
· Terrible in tentacle grab section
Strengths · Only needing a few damage upgrades to really become a devasting weapon
· Can obtain it early (Chapter 3)
· The most cost-effective weapon in the game, 1 saw blade can take out 2 or more Necro-morphs especially with duration upgrade
· Excellent ammo economy, not requiring a lot of ammo to take out enemies & it sells for good money
· Can end primary fire with alt fire to deal optimize damage & possibly take down a limb or an enemy
· Best weapon for close quarters which is every other encounter in the game!
· Alt-Fire is a decent option for ranged encounters
· Alt-Fire can penetrate through enemies
· Can stagger enemies often with primary fire
1st place is contact beam (Should be called devastation beam)
Weaknesses · Minor delay to charge primary fire
· Require time to charge up alt-fire
· Alt-fire splash can harm you
Strengths · Default contact beam contact is already quite powerful
· Absolutely melts every enemy & bosses in the game
· Cost efficiency surprisingly very good
· Alt-fire totally annihilates crowd of enemies especially with the special to increase blast radius
· Obtained quite early (Chapter 4)
· Primary fire can cover any range
· This gun is not as nearly good as the Handcannon but it is so ridiculously powerful it puts the other guns on the list to shame like the Handcannon
· The special making the alt-fire projectile bigger makes it easier to land on targets
· Only needs to track your target with primary fire (continuous beam)
· Primary fire can penetrate through multiple targets

2023.05.28 09:59 C4se4 Tommy's Alchemy
I love how Sanguine Alchemy looks but it was such a garbage exotic. Boots of the Assembler was just a better. Increasing the time of your rift while buffing your allies. But after much time in the vaults of many, it got a buff!
Build Link Use Empowering Rift and Healing Grenades. Restoration x2 is the fastest healing in the game and you can facetank a lot of enemies while doing this as long as you keep killing ads. Ember of Singeing gives Rift Energy when you scorch enemies with Tommy's (or melee). Ember of Searing grants melee energy AND creates Firesprites for grenade energy to pick up afterwards. Your damage output will be quite nice. 37% on the double damage of Tommy's Matchbook.
Ember of Empyrean;
Solar weapon or ability final blows extend the duration of restoration and radiant effects applied to you.
So as long as you keep killing enemies you can keep this healing buff rolling.
Some things to take into consideration;
- Other gameplay loop is easy enough. You plop down a healing rift and use your melee to grant you radiant. Sanguine's and Radiant stack for a 42% damage increase. But empowering is more consistent so I went with that.
- Don't bother with Solar Weapon Surges. It doesn't stack with the exotic trait.
- I used Font of Restoration to up my Recovery but you can switch that around of course with any other stat you would like to buff.
- Best used in 3 man activities. You need consistent killing with this build to keep restoration (or radiant) up and I noticed it sometimes lacking in 6 man activities because other people kept stealing kills.

2023.05.28 09:45 Cicasajt Feedback from a warframe player
hi.
i have played warframe for many years and i got bored of it so i gave a try to destiny 2 and im deeply disappointed. i put 50 hours in it now and most of it was spent trying to figure out how it is supposed to be fun and trying to find content. here are the things i noticed after 50 hours:
lack of gameplay content
weapons look very cool but they all feel the same
there is a lack of weapon customization
fast travel is not fast because it has a loading screen
cant fast travel to npcs
cant find a reason to use kinetic weapons
ammo is sparse
abilities are underwhelming with huge cooldowns
weapon perks cant really be changed
menu is a mess
there is so much loading in this game. in warframe you can load any mission within seconds but here just going to the tower takes 30-60 seconds
free content is even more limited
dlcs are overpriced
npcs wont shut up if u are near them
enemies lack diversity
movement is very limited and whacky
lack of minimap
radar disappears when aiming
destination maps are bad
character customization is vague
cant use multiple exotics
settings options just lack everything
im sure if i gave it more time i could make the list longer but this is it for now.
to me the game looks like an alpha or early beta game. lack of real content. plenty of half-finished, empty systems. missing every quality of life possible. the story i wouldnt call a story. and god i hate that sub zero zavala guy. the voice actor has a nice voice but this is the worst voice acting i have heard in my entire life. it hurts to listen to it.
if you think there is anything to check out to change my opinion on the game please let me know. tho i feel like whatever gameplay there still is to offer to me just playing and navigating in the menu is an overall unpleasant, obnoxious experience.

2023.05.28 09:42 Competitive_Text1914 Hells Kitchen 6th Place Season: Episodes 1 and 2
Chef Gordon Ramsay welcomed his 6th place finishers and said that he had seen flashes of brilliance from these Chefs in their season but also some very frustrating moments which is why they finished in 6th place. However, he said he was started with a clean slate for all 19 of his returning Chefs and said he wanted them to learn from all their mistakes. Giovanni said he was pumped to come back for his 3rd time in Hells Kitchen and Nikki was wondering what was happening with the teams with 11 men and 8 women. Ramsay quickly answered this by sending Andrew and Santos over to the red team and Santos said this was going to be interesting being on the womens team this year. The teams all finished their signature dishes but Maribel was unsure if her steak was undercooked or not and Dannie said that Maribel’s dish should be left out due to clumsy presentation and undercooked beef but Maribel said she thought Andrew’s truffled veal was worse as she could smell the truffles but Andrew insisted it was a great dish so the red team agreed to keep it. Maribel was livid but Sabrina told her to stop complaining and accept the decision.
First up was Brad who Ramsay welcomed back after a long 17 years and said he hoped to see the best Brad this time round. Brad got the blue team off to a great start with 4 out of 5 while Kanae was excited to come back after feeling she was robbed last time but scored 3 to leave the red team trailing after the 1st dishes. Big Andrew from Season 16 was up next and scored 3/5 while Keisha tied up for the red team by scoring 4. Ed was next up and scored an impressive 4 to take the lead for the men as Elizabeth scored 3 and the mens lead increased with Van scoring 4 while Tara scored 3. Zach however, served dry chicken and scored a rancid 1 point and the red team took the lead with Santos scored 4 while Giovanni and Dannie both scored 3 to leave the scores at 19:20 with 3 dishes left. Josh was next up and said he’d been dreaming of this day since his humiliation in Season 17 and Ramsay was delighted he came back as Josh scored a perfect 5 for his dish which saw Josh giggle like a madman and Sabrina’s dish scored 2 to put the blue team in a 2 point lead. Antonio though served overcooked lobster to only score 2 and Nikki came back with the 2nd perfect 5 to give the red team a 27:26 lead going into the last dishes. Last up for the blue jackets was Season 4’s Matt who annoyed everyone by saying how much he missed Chef Ramsay and what an honour it was to cook for him again but Ramsay was impressed with Matt’s dish which scored 4 out of 5. Andrew needed 4 to win and despite claiming that Ramsay would love his dish, Ramsay spat it out and said it was drenched in truffle oil and the veal was way overcooked. The blue team won 30:28 and Josh said this was the greatest day of his life to win the challenge for the blue team and Van said it was GAME TIME this year round.
The red team were devastated and Maribel said she already felt like an outcast due to being left out without consideration and Nikki told her she had to keep her head up for the next challenge. Andrew meanwhile was sulking about his dish saying it wasn’t that bad and Keisha agreed with Dannie that Andrew was a huge weak link. The blue team came back the next day from their night out and Ramsay said that before the 1st service it was time for an early challenge with each Chef serving a halibut dish for Ramsay with the top 3 dishes from each team being considered for punishment passes while the bottom 3 were at risk of ELIMINATION. Andrew said this was the challenge he needed and it would not be him going home and Josh said it would be the ultimate fall from Grace to go from leading the team to victory to then being eliminated. All the Chefs were confident about the dishes they presented but Christina was instantly quick to point out that Maribel had served raw halibut while Keisha’s was burnt. Ramsay asked Sous Chefs Christina and Jocky what the best dishes were and Christina announced that Dannie, Nikki and Santos had the best 3 dishes on the red team with Santos saying this was the start he needed to prove himself as a player while Jocky announced Van, Giovanni and Ed as having the best 3 dishes on the blue team with Ed saying halibut had some bad memories for him in Hells Kitchen so this was a good day. Ramsay praised all 6 dishes but said that Dannie and Ed had the best 2 dishes so they would both be getting punishment passes this season. Ed said hell yeah and said this could come in handy later in the season and Dannie said she was going to avoid drinking some nasty concoction this season. Ramsay then asked for the weakest 3 dishes on each team and Christina announced Maribel, Keisha and Andrew as having the worst 3 dishes while Jocky announced Antonio, Matt and Big Andrew(Drew) as having the weakest dishes on the blue team. Drew was horrified at this and said he thought his dish was alot better than being in the bottom 3 and Matt said this was the worst feeling in the world to potentially be leaving this early.
Ramsay told the turkeys to step up and after slating all 6 dishes, Andrew had the worst dish with only Matt’s dish left to judge. Matt was extremely confident with his halibut sashimi but Ramsay was livid that Matt had 40 minutes and didn’t cook anything telling him this was giving him flashbacks to his exotic tartare. Despite Matt’s confidence, Ramsay was disgusted by the dish and ended up throwing it up into a bin due to the bizarre combination of ingredients and furiously told a confused MATT to get out and leave Hells Kitchen immediately! Once Ramsay recovered he told Andrew he was extremely lucky that Matt’s dish was that awful and told him to go to the blue team to even up the teams before dinner service.

2023.05.28 08:33 -Bonjour-- More Madeir
From my travel report (2014):
The second trip to Madeira we made to escape the winter. The weather was like a moody diva in winter. It changes not only from day to day, but also within a few hours. So you can never plan anything for the next day, because you should not think, today it is so nice and sunny and warm, it will be the same tomorrow. But if you are unlucky, the next morning it will be completely cloudy, only to possibly be sunny again in the afternoon.
It is always a pleasure to stroll in FUNCHAL's old town. Here times an ice cream to eat, there a coffee possibly with Nata to take. But this should be done when there are no cruise ships in the harbor. Then you see fortunately more locals than tourists in the streets.
For football fans: Christiano Ronaldo, who comes from Madeira, now has his own museum in Funchal - eagerly visited by his - mostly young - supporters...
Funchal is spreading out more and more - the slopes all around are already built on, and in the hotel zone construction continues eagerly. Although it is obvious that in the newly built apartment houses still very many apartments are empty.
The first two weeks we booked apartment at about 350 m altitude with a beautiful view of Funchal. The disadvantage was that it became - especially in the evening - but quite cool. Fortunately we had not only an electric heater but also a fireplace in the apartment.
From up here you can see how Funchal has grown in recent years. It is a huge sea of houses, which goes up to all the adjacent hills.
For the second part of our stay we had chosen an apartment house at Praia do Formosa with direct view to the sea and also to Cabo Girao.
One of the most beautiful and varied gardens of Madeira is located only about 9 km east of Funchal: the Palheiro or Blandy's Gardens. In 1801, the property was purchased by Count Carvalhal. A hunting lodge was built and the count had exotic trees imported from all over the world. The count's descendants squandered the fortune, and so in 1885 the estate became the property of the Blandy family of wine merchants. The villa above the garden is still inhabited by the Blandy family and is not accessible.
The gardens are famous not only for the variety of (often exotic) plants but also for their location on a 500 m high hill with a magnificent view of the bay of Funchal. The Count's hunting lodge was renovated in 1997 and is now the exclusive hotel "Quinta Velha do Palheiro".
The gardens are divided into the main garden, the sunken garden, the valley of hell (Inferno) with mighty fern trees, the rose garden, the ladies garden and the tea house area. There are also ponds with water lilies and beautiful flower beds.
Some of the numerous trees are 100 years old. The garden has been constantly developed. Hibiscus, bougainvilleas, jacaranda, African tulip trees, coral trees and orchid trees grow here. The Blandy family imported proteas from South Africa and had a rose garden planted and a small baroque chapel built. The gardens are also famous for their numerous camellias and magnolias.
The orchid garden, created by an Austrian, apparently has more than 5000 plants and is located below the botanical garden. At the moment the orchid garden is closed, because in the big fire of 2016 in Funchal not only many houses were destroyed, but also great damage was done to the orchid garden.
Carnival is also celebrated in Madeira and by chance we saw a children's parade. It was interesting to see with which eagerness the children were partly "there". Therefore, there will probably be no problem with carnivalistic offspring in Funchal.
The town of RIBEIRA BRAVA is located at the mouth of a wide - sometimes wild (brava) river (ribeira). From Funchal there is a highway to get there. In Ribeira Brava there is a wide pebble beach, and on the other side of the promenade there are cafes and restaurants. In the historic center there are small stores, and here is also the pink town hall from the late 18th century
The Igreja de Sao Bento was built as early as 1440, but was given a new look during the Baroque period. The spire with the white-blue tile pattern and the sphere symbol of the Portuguese explorers is striking.
We still drove to Punta do Sol. This place lies between two high rocky capes. In the old core there are only a few houses and the church, behind it already begin the terraced banana fields. There is a pebble beach and on the promenade you can have a drink in small cafes. Except for us, there were hardly any tourists in the village. But here we drank the best poncha on the island. Poncha (made of honey, lemon juice and sugar cane brandy) is a kind of national drink on Madeira.
The village of Camara de Lobos - situated between two rocky cliffs - is only 9 km away from Funchal. Camara de Lobos is still a typical fishing village with the many colorful boats (xavelhas) that you can admire in the small harbor. A small church was built at the harbor early on, this was remodeled in 1420 and the current Capella Nossa Senhora de Conceicao was built.
There is still fishing and some boat building in Camara de Lobos. However, these are no longer particularly lucrative, so tourism is now a larger source of income. The fishermen in this area mainly catch the black scabbardfish (Espada), which is offered in many restaurants - also in Funchal.
There is a promenade path from the Lido in Funchal to Camara de Lobos since 2011. The path - always with a view of Cabo Girao - is partly concreted and partly laid out on wooden walkways. If you walk in the direction of Camara de Lobos, you can see the approaching waves of the Atlantic Ocean on the left and the partly high cliffs on the right. Not far behind Praia de Formosa there are some beach bars or restaurants where you can have a drink or eat quite well.
Cabo Girao near Camara de Lobos is one of the highest cliffs in the world. More than 500 m the land here falls almost vertically into the sea. Since our last visit, things had changed here, there was now a large parking lot. Then the cafes and souvenir stores were also new for us. And surprising for us was also the glass viewing platform, which exists since the end of 2012. Here you can see that wine and vegetables are grown on the small rocky outcrops. The farmers can reach their fields on the coastal fringe with a cable car. Before the cable car was built, these fields were only accessible by boat.
From Funchal it was not far to CANICO. The original village became in the course of time one of the most important tourist places on Madeira. Large hotel complexes, apartment buildings and villas were built. However, we turned off before we reached the town in order to get to Ponta do Garajau. There on a rock cliff is the 14 m high Christo Rei statue, which was erected in 1927. From here you have a beautiful view of Funchal. Since 2007, there is a cable car nearby that goes 200 m down to the pebble beach.
CURRAL DAS FREIRAS is a small village nestled between huge almost vertical mountain slopes in the heart of Madeira. There is only one road that leads serpentine to the 633 m high valley. Originally the valley was inhabited by nomads and shepherds. Towards the end of the 15th century, the land became the property of the nuns of the Santa Clara convent.
The name Curral das Freiras means "pen of the nuns". In the 16th and 17th centuries, the island was repeatedly attacked by pirates, and the nuns retreated here to the protection of the mountains, which are up to 700 meters high. Here people still live from what they grow themselves on their fertile fields. One of the specialties of the village is chestnuts. They are used to make liqueur, cakes, bread and soups, which are also sold to tourists. On November 1 of each year, the Chestnut Festival is held here.
Not many tourists come to SANTA CRUZ, although this place is certainly worth a visit. There is quite a pretty old town with the church of San Salvador built in 1533 as well as like a large modern market hall just behind the long gray pebble beach lined with date palms.
Just north of Santa Cruz is Madeira Island's airport, renamed "Cristiano Ronaldo" Airport in 2007. Opened in 1964 and reconstructed in 2000, this airport is one of the most dangerous in the world. The 2777 m long runway is built on the rocky coast above the water and looks like a bridge with large concrete supports. A large parking lot has been built below this runway.
Before the landing approach, the mountain massif must be overcome so that the narrow runway can be approached. Unfortunately, there have been numerous accidents, but this is still one of the busiest airports in Portugal.
From Santa Cruz we drove to MACHICO, one of the larger towns of Madeira. Machico profited from sugar cane cultivation in the 15th century and is now a modern town, which is divided into two halves by the Ribeira da Machico. On the eastern bank of the river is the historic fishing quarter with the main square surrounded by tall laurel trees.
The town church of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao in the center was built in the 15th century and partially rebuilt in the 18th century. Opposite stands the town hall built in the early 20th century There are several fish restaurants here.
In the surroundings of the small village FAIAL there is still a lot of agriculture, e.g. wine and fruit growing. The village is dominated by the 600 m high Eagle Rock. Only a few tourists come here, because there is hardly anything worth seeing.
Most people come to Santana to see the famous "Casas de colmo". In total there are still about a hundred of these thatched historic wooden houses. They are very scattered throughout the municipality.
On the way back to Funchal we passed through Ribera fria. Here you can take a short hike up to the Miradouro dos Balcoes, from where you have a beautiful view of the mountains.
The peninsula PONTA DE SAO LOURENCO is 9 km long and 2 km wide. In 1982 it was declared a nature reserve, mainly to ensure the preservation of the fauna with the great variety of birds and the great occurrence of the native flora. The eastern tip of Madeira is barren and windy. One can no longer imagine that everything here was lushly forested.
Then, in spring, a carpet of flowers enlivens the bare hilltops. But also in other seasons the turquoise sea and the rocks in different shades - ocher, rust, gray and green-black - bring color to the area.
The south coast can be easily approached by boats, which is almost impossible on the drastically shaped north coast with its strong winds. There is a paved access road to the parking lot above Baia de Abra. Here you can also take the public bus.
From there there is a popular rocky hiking trail. This hike is absolutely not a walk. There are some climbs, often wooden stairs. You have no shade and are exposed to gusts of wind. To avoid being blown down somewhere, I ducked down and waited out the sometimes strong gusts - really quite extreme.
At the narrowest point with a land bridge only a few meters wide, the rock drops almost 100 m vertically - fortunately the place is secured with a fence.
The hike takes - depending on your condition - 2 to 3 hours. It also depends on whether you only walk to the plateau of Casa Sardinha - administration of the national park - or if you want to make the ascent to Pico Furado. Below the Casa there are some tables for picnics. From there there is also an entrance for swimming, which can certainly be pleasant in the summer.
On the way there are always beautiful views of the sea and the rock formations - e.g. the so-called rock gate. On the south side you can see the cages of a fish farm in the sea. In front of Sao Lourenco there are two small islands, on one of them stands the oldest (from 1870) lighthouse of Madeira.
From the cape we drove to CANICAL, the easternmost municipality of Madeira. This place is still characterized by fishing and boat building. Fishing boats are still built here and there is a large repair yard.
Over the 1000 m high Encumeada Pass we drove northeast to Sao Vicente. Unfortunately the old coastal road to Seixal and Porto Moniz was closed and we had to drive through many tunnels. A few years ago it was a special experience to drive on the narrow and winding ER 101 directly at the coast - on one side the high cliffs and on the other side the sea. But apparently the road has become too dangerous in the meantime because of constant falling rocks.
We got to Porto Moniz , and unfortunately the weather got worse, more and more clouds came up. The sea raged with huge waves to the shore. Porto Moniz is a nice little town located on the northwestern tip of Madeira, a region with high mountains and views of the endless Atlantic Ocean.
From Porto Moniz you can go hiking, for example on the coastal trail "Levada da Ribeira da Janela", one of the best hiking trails in Madeira.
Porto Moniz is known for its volcanic pools. Daytrippers mostly come for these pools filled with sea water. These pools owe their formation to a lava tongue that flowed into the sea here thousands of years ago, creating caves due to the force of wind and waves. The black basalt lava pools form swimming pools and are the attraction of Porto Moniz, because you can swim (swim) in them very well - at least in good weather...
There are two different lava pools in Porto Moniz: the completely natural pools and the western pools, which have been transformed into natural outdoor pools - there are no sharp rocks here. The surrounding rocks of the outdoor pool were built as a terrace , and here you can sunbathe. The pools are open every day - even in winter. But when we were there, there was no one in the water....
The natural pools are not safe because of the black sharp basalt rocks. It is very interesting to watch the waves as they crash against the rocks. The water is sometimes whirled into the air in such a way that it looks like a geyser.
The PICO DE ARIEIRO is the most visited mountain of Madeira, because it is the only one that has been opened up with a road, but it is only the third highest. The road was probably built primarily for the observatory and not necessarily for the tourists. Already the approach through pristine landscape with rugged rock and sparse vegetation is an experience.
If the weather is good, you have a breathtaking view all around. Equally beautiful, however, is the sight of white cushions of clouds hanging between the high mountains. In winter there can be ice and snow on the peaks. Since it had snowed on Madeira about 2 weeks before our trip there, we could still see the sparse remnants on the shaded layers.
From Pico de Arieiro you can hike up to Pico Ruivo (1861 m) if the weather is good. At the beginning, the path is quite wide and in places secured by railings. Some then walk at least to the first viewpoint - the rocky peak Niho de Mata with beautiful views. The entire hike up to Pico Ruivo is clearly difficult, even if there are partially secured stairways since the 1960s. Some of the paths are steep up to 700 m, the rock steps are high, the paths are sometimes narrow and beaten, and it also goes through unlit tunnels. So you should have a good condition and be free from giddiness and sure-footed.
